CoreSportgib

CoreSportGib is a digital weekly sports news publication for Gibraltar. It is published on a weekly basis and can be read online, or offline using the Issuu.com digital publishing platform.

CoresportGib is a publication created by Core Photography who have been actively dedicated as photojournalist in Gibraltar since the launch of our service in early 2014.

As part of our service we launched www.corephotographygibr altar.com, our image collection online service

Over 5,000 unique users every month return to our site on nearly a daily basis, and with over 250,000 page views a month the photographic collection has become a mainstream media information service for many users.

Recently Core Photography opted to divert its attention from main stream news to sports recognizing the need to fill a gap in the

market in which sports reporting was limited in Gibraltar.

The success of our Coresport galleries led us to seek new forms of keeping readers informed on sports news stories. This led us to the creation of a weekly digital review magazine, CORESPORTGIB

We have since refocused our objectives and Core Photography's services have been aligned to provide a full sports coverage through its various platforms, moving away from main stream everyday political news to sports news.

We are exclusively dedicated to Sports news coverage and reporting.

The digital publication itself can be viewed through three different platforms, allowing readers to choose their preferred option.

The main publication which allows for hyperlinks within adverts will be uploaded to our issuu.com/coresportgib platform. Providing a

unique reader experience where traditional magazine reading meets digital technology.

The magazine can also be read on multiple mobile devices, desktop and offline. It can even be printed if you prefer to read it on paper.

We provide options for the magazine to be downloaded in full.

The page spreads are also available at our Facebook page at Coresportgib as one of our image albums which will allow readers to share, comment, download, save or basically do as they generally do when interacting with social media.

Being a part of Core Photography, which has its own website www.corephotographygibr altar.com, the digital magazine will also see the page spreads published online as part of our online collections.

What does all this mean to you the advertiser?

Simply speaking Core

Photography has created and is developing further a way of targetting the sports community, and groups associated to, actively participating or have a part in sports in Gibraltar.

These community has few boundaries except the sports itself.

They come from all walks of life, all political sectors, workplaces and social structures.

Sports is the one place where you can have a company director mixed with public servants or any mix of genders, social groupings with little to differentiate them between each other.

Most sportsmen and women in Gibraltar are dedicated to their sport but come from other fields of work. They work, buy, shop, travel, buy property, could be running a small company or even a large corporation. The one thing that brings them together is sport.

For the advertiser this is a perfect avenue through which to target a global market which in itself has a multitude of smaller target audiences which can be reached.

It means that there is also now a publication which

does not rely on political news stories, or headline news to attract a large social group.

Sportsmen and women, like everyone else, like to read about themselves, their clubs or associations and their own sport.

Relatives and friends like to read about their loved ones achievements.

Sports enthusiasts like to keep up with what is happening.

This is where CoreSportGib comes in, it provides this service to our readers, and therefore creates for you the advertiser that unique target audience you might want to attract.

In the near future Coresportgib will spread its distribution even further as it seeks to widen its market and reach new audiences interested in Gibraltar related sports stories.

Our stats show that since the launch of CoreSportGib as a digital publication it has been growing in readership every week, with every publication in our archives increasing in readership weeks after as well.

We have at present an average of 1900 readers

for the magazine alone on our issuu.com/coresportgib platform. With stats showing that over 45% do more than just flick through the pages.

We acknowledge that many readers will just read titles and look at the images, however, that is why we focus our attention on images and layouts, not just stories.

Our presence in Facebook also sees over our reach increased with anything from 1500 - 6,000 users reached at any given week.

Our objective is not to provide hyped up stats saying we have 18,000 or even 100,000 likes as likes do NOT provide evidence of readership just that someone has clicked on the like button at some stage when they have viewed your page.

Instead we seek to reach as high a number of readers as we can. Our main aim is to create an organic readership base which comes back to read us every week and whose loyalty will generate its own organic increase in the readership.

A happy reader is a valueable reader to both us and YOU THE ADVERTISER.

Why Classifeds in sports pages?

Why a classified section in a sports magazine? It seems a strange combination?

And indeed it probably is a pretty strange one, except when you see the logic behind our thinking.

Sports, unlike leisure magazines or trade magazines do not focus just on a niche market. Better said they cater on a very globalised niche market, sports is an activity which crosses many social frontiers. A top director could be just as easily be mingling with someone from the unemployment queues, and being an equal. There is very little class distinctions across the majority of the sports, and therefore it offers a broader market to advertisers when you look at the potential demographics of the readers.

Readers will not just be participants of the sports, or enthusiasts, it will cut across wider bodies to include relatives of those taking part, colleagues, partners, acquaintances and more.

A football match for example might attract the attention of numerous social groups. In just the same way a junior football match will probably attract the attention of as large an audience when you consider the attraction to the reader of the family, community and social elements which will attract them to read articles or view photographs.

This is the attraction of a local sport focused magazine.

With this in mind classified, even directory and property pages are also areas of interest to readers which can be used by advertisers when merged with the sports publication.

Which is why we have not hesitated in offering the opportunity to have such pages.

Who reads CoreSportGib

Coresportgib is read by the sports enthusiasts, the sports participant, the family member of the sports participants, the person with some general interest in sport, and people who have a link to sport or are interested in sport in one form or another.

Basically this includes just about every family in Gibraltar is a potential reader of CoreSportGib, such is the widespread nature of sports.

What are the main interests of our readers

The simple answer is that since CoreSportGib is aimed at a regional sports community in which the participants are mainly amateurs or practise sport as their second main occupation in some cases, the main interests of our readers is as wide as the interest of the community at large. From cars, to homes, to any activity our readers are a whole community doing everything the community does. Advertising on Coresportgib is largely targeting a local market.
