AN UNFORGETTABLE TRIP TO TURKEY

On the 2nd of July 11A we went to Turkey for a summer vacation. We were so excited because of the fact that the school was over and we were headed to Turkey. We were 5 students, and our

homeroom teacher. We agreed to meet up at 9:30pm at the Phnom Penh International Airport. We successfully got on board and took a deep breath for the take off. Since we were flying

via Korean Airline, we were supposed to go to Seoul first. As we landed at the Seoul Int. Airport, the next thing we had to do was to wait 7 hours for the flight heading to Istanbul, Turkey.

So, in an effort to kill some time some of us took a tour around the airport, a few were napping, and the rest were surfing the internet At 12:30am we departed from Korean airport to

We left Istanbul at 1:30 pm for Mr.Selman’s hometown. On the way we stopped by the carting center where we had a car racing contest among each other. Our next scheduled stop

Zaman Family Has Been Growing Up Gradually

Having set off on their journey in 1997 with the motto of “you can reach the top with us, Zaman International School has incorporated 108 more students in ZIS Alumni Family with its 8th graduation ceremony. 12th grade students, their teachers and the administrators have worked out a lot for that night which has been celebrated with great joy as in the previous years. 12th grade students, their families, the ZIS members, the general director Mr. Ali Kökten

and the vice president of National Education (Houth Samreth) have attended the ceremony. The program having lasted for about 3 hours was joyous for all the people. Cinevision shows, plaquettes, Khmer traditional dance shows, the songs sung, the speeches made, and the diplomas taken at the end of the night showed the gratitude of all attendants. Channary Tauch who ranked the first in the school thanked his teachers stating that

he is proud to be a member of ZIS and happy to have studied in that school. The vice-president of the National Education who gave their diplomas to the 12E and 12F students wished the best of success to the students and thanked Zaman Schools for their precious contribution to the education of Cambodia. Through the end of the night, students experienced both the joy of having been rewarded diplomas and also the grief of leaving the school. After the graduation

c e r e m o n y, t h e p a r e n t s congratulated the students, had photos taken with them and showed their gratitude to the teachers for their contributions. Zaman Schools, having done everything for the sake of Cambodian education, now resumes its way. We all wish our graduates all the best in their new lives in the hope of coming together in many other graduation ceremonies.

Ta l k i n g a b o u t l a s t y e a r s graduation ceremony, it was one of the most unforgettable memories of our life. This was really the best part of all of our 12th grade activities. Before the event everybody was getting nervous and anxiously waiting for the day to come as soon as possible. Even though we were looking forward to it, we were a bit sad during the whole proceedings of the event. But we were still happy and enjoyed the show and performances along with all the students and school staff. All the duty students involved with the entertainment were trying really hard at the rehearsals and in the end everybody performed very well on the stage. There were a lot of programs for the ceremony and I think the best part must

have been the time when all 4 classes got their certificates. Many of the students were crying happily and some of us even threw our caps in the air. For us all, it was a really a time that we can never ever forget. We tried not to think about the fact that it was the last time for us to be all together in high school and to be with our friends, because everybody was very busy getting ready for the show. Some of us didn’t even have time to see our friends do their performing on the stage. But one of the things that really grabbed our attention was when the school started the slideshow and were showing pictures of all of us that had been taken all the way back in grades 9 and 10. We were all were laughing and really had no idea where the

teachers got those pictures from. Everybody was amazed to see those humorous pictures showing on the slidescreen for everybody to see. Some of us were weeping at that time to see

it all. Anyways, the day meant something very important to us and we will never forget that graduation ceremony. By 12A

The way that we all meet is our fate. We are destined to be in the same class, to share those amazing memories. Time is not important for us because no matter how it passes, the thing that remains forever in our minds is that unforgettable time in 12E. That was a place that held the most precious part of our life. Not only did we get the education but at the same time we got knowledge of life without conscious thought. Those are the things we learned from the activities we’ve done together. The most remarkable thing is the tough times we had before the exam. Everyone tried their best to study not as individuals but cooperatively. It was a tough time

like I said, but for us, nothing is too tough when our friends are there. Things that seem to be complicated become as simple as a piece of cake when it comes to group work. The wholesome atmosphere that we had in class, the party we had and things we shared have left a deep impression in everyone’s heart. We will never forget the teachers who taught us and arranged all the activities in order to let us create meaningful things. Thanks to them we could spend every second of our senior life efficiently and will ensure that we will have this precious time forever. By 12E

ACTIVITIES

Aikido Exhibition

Aikido is a kind of martial Art that is different from other martial Arts like karate, judo, taekwondo; etc.... Aikido is a martial Art for health, not for competition or to get a medal. Akido expects all Aikido trainees to behave like people with good character. Traits like modesty, politeness, understanding, respect of rules, conscientiousness, bravery, and humbleness are encouraged while boasting and arrogance is discouraged. Also, Aikido

trainees must be patient, perform the training hours required, and be attentive during all training activities in order to avoid serious injuries. Instead of the usual Aikido competition, enthusiasts gave an Aikido Exhibition at Zaman International School on 16/Sep/2009 to show some special techniques for defending yourself against any kind of attack. At the Aikido Exhibition students demonstrated various

techniques using free hand, wooden sword, wooden stick and a dagger. At times the demonstration had one person defending himself from one attacker and at other times experts demonstrated how one person could defend himself against multiple attackers at the same time. This Aikido Exhibition was also an opportunity to show the spectators what the capabilities of Aikido are and also to show the

spectators that Aikido is a martial Art that doesn`t use much energy to defend against attack. The people who attended the demonstration exchanged ideas with each other and met capable new friends. People who were there also noticed the strong cooperation between national and international participants. ***********

memorable lecturers from all over the world. The main criteria considered for accepting lecturers to Zaman University are their academic credentials, experience, and quality of teaching. We all know that universities are a place where students act more responsibly and are aware of the importance of education. In order to have a better career and a well paid job, university students force themselves to study harder and to keep motivated. University policies, rules and regulations are set while keeping these facts in mind. Students will study lectures similar to those at international universities. Students who fail courses will need to repeat those lessons until they achieve a passing grade. Zaman University will be coed, with boys and girls enrolled in their particular field of study studying with the same teacher at the same time. Zaman University will also offer additional elective lessons so that students can improve themselves in other areas beneficial to their future jobs, such as a second foreign language, or IT, etc. At Zaman University we see that

the business world in Cambodia is in urgent need of uniquely qualified employees. We aim to fill this gap and help Cambodia develop faster with an increasingly qualified workforce.

For diligent students who come to us with a good fundamental knowledge in the relevant fields of study there will be scholarship exams which will enable successful applicants to shape

their future at Zaman University on a scholarship. For more information feel free to contact or visit us! *************
