Art must transcend Art is a manifestation of the man, where we can see dominion, talent, technique with a high levels of mastery. Because the artist it self have been dedicated his live in order to know how to make something artistic, how to express it, how he says something and how he is trying to telling us something important. on what kind of dominion he has with painting, sounds to produce music, drawing or dancing. The first thing that we need to see in a work of art are those qualities, if you or some one else didn't see it, there fore the work of art is unable to communicate, do not moves you, do not makes you fell something special. Art must transcend. If you or some one else are in front of a work of art and this one is unable to overcome it's own historical moment, it means, right there in that moment expires in the art space, this is obsolete because it can not survive by it self with and with out the institution. A real work of art is out of it's own time, out of the art institution, that is why a work of art that was maid years ego, still alive, still communicating, keep moving us. This is what art makes with an esthetic work of art. The purpose of the art is to amplify the reality or give a new meaning to life, understand better life, but if the artist just take something literal and then exposure it, that is not art.

Art must transcend

Art gives visibility and presence to ideas, emotions, situations, that some times we can not manifest, think in art for it's own temporarily, give it meaning for the moment when this one was create it and then make of this moment the theme that brakes with the eternal line where the art lives. Art invents a language which is able to transcend the moment when this one was create it. The circumstance which gives the theme are only a condition which stays back in order to the theme that survive in it's own moment. The so call contemporary art, better to say contemporary style, center it's own sense in the moment. it's reason of been is in the finite, in that moment of the end and the work of art is unable to survive inevitably. But the search for beauty, to achieve an esthetic state where the artistic object overcome all kinds of visions of what we have in reality and then realize for something extraordinary most be the goal. Plastic arts such is the case of painting, drawing, sculpture, music, dance, theatre etc, are always looking for beauty and harmony because give us a new dimension has intelligent minds with sensibility, with a superior aspirations illuminates us. Expressionist Legacy: Richard Stout & Friends September 27, 2017 (Houston)— William Reaves Sarah Foltz Fine Art presents Houston’s Expressionist Legacy: Richard Stout & Friends, on view October 13November 4, 2017. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, October 14th, 6-8:30pm. This fall signifies a very important moment in Texas Art with a multivalent celebration of the art of Richard Stout, one of Houston’s most influential abstract painters. Coinciding with the release of his monograph Sense of Home: The Art of Richard Stout and museum retrospective exhibition opening at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas in Beaumont, William Reaves | Sarah Foltz Fine Art presents Houston’s Expressionist Legacy: Richard Stout & Friends, on view October 13- November 4, 2017. This exhibition will feature a magnificent selection of fresh works from the artist’s studio, as well as works by many of his peers, including artists Jack Boynton, Ibsen Espada, Dorothy Hood, Leila McConnell, Charles Schorre and Dick Wray. Two weeks prior to the opening of the gallery’s exhibition, Stout’s work will also be the subject of a traveling retrospective exhibition set to open in Beaumont at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas on September 29 and will run through December 3, 2017. The exhibition will subsequently travel to Corpus Christi (Art Museum of South Texas) in Spring 2018 before returning for exhibition at the University of Houston Downtown (O’Kane Gallery) in Fall 2018. We urge patrons to view the exhibition at one of these venues. We know that you will not be disappointed. As this gallery show comes to fruition, we are mindful that our city continues to rebuild and rejuvenate from the recent disaster of Hurricane Harvey. As Stout’s work has always addressed the natural specter and vicissitudes of the Texas Coast, we view this exhibition as the perfect artistic tribute to the indomitable spirit and resilience of Houston and our surrounding coastal communities. In keeping with our Standing for Houston Art and Artists Initiative, we hope that you will make the time to attend, and please know that the gallery will contribute a portion of proceeds of any purchase from the exhibition to The Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. Landscapes of the Goddess Within Becky Soria's exhibition, Landscapes of the Goddess Within, will be on view November 4 through November 30, 2017. The artist will be available to visit with guests during the opening reception on Saturday, November 4, 2017, from 5 – 8 p.m. with an Artist Talk at 6:30 p.m. Life Interruptus... The constant ding of the cell phone, whether by text or call or email or Facebook or.... To counteract the stress and anxiety provoked by the constant interruptions, the practice of mindfulness has been gaining currency in the West. Mindfulness, a form of meditation, is the practice of maintaining a moment-to-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, as well as of the surrounding environment. Becky Soria has spent many years being mindful of her thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations, as well as the world she dwells within. Fortunately, she has been able to turn adversity into opportunity, as her awareness drew itself inward to find an inner

landscape of complex structures interrelating thought with sensation, sensation with feeling, feeling engaging idea. But these are relatively abstract conceptualizations of an inner landscape actually characterized by density, texture, color, movement, subtle energies, blockages, releases, compassion bodies, sacred bodies, lumina naturale... The list of the interior landscape of a mindful mind goes on and on. In this current show, Landscapes of the Goddess Within, Becky Soria paints the woman as goddess, but not in any archaic way. She paints the inner landscapes of the totemic goddess female.

IT’S NOT A DREAM: NEW PAINTINGS BY CLEMENT GARCIALASSAULX Clemente Garcia-Lassaulx teaches in his Montrose studio, helping many students turn their visions into works of art. This fall, Clemente will exhibit his own personal visions in a series of new abstract paintings on view at The Jung Center Gallery. In It’s Not a Dream, Clemente combines oil and acrylic to create shapes and colors that unify these often distinctly used materials. Each painting is an encounter of differences, brought together to reveal their potential harmony. For more than 50 years, The Jung Center has served as a nonprofit resource offering dynamic and compelling classes – “continuing education for the human spirit” – on a diverse range of psychological, artistic, and intellectual topics. The Jung Center’s building was originally designed as an art gallery and mounts approximately nine exhibits of work by both established and emerging artists each year. The Jung Center is an active member of the Houston Museum District. Admission to the gallery and opening receptions is free and open to the public. This exhibit will be on display from November 1-December 19, 2017 at the Jung Center, 5200 Montrose Blvd. The public is invited to a gallery reception on Saturday, November 4, from 5:00-7:00 pm.
