Brighten up those dark winter nights with a dazzling light display on the banks of the River Tay in Perth. The lights shine brightly every night from Saturday 26 January to Sunday 10 February 2019, but our theme nights make the experience extra special. The lighting and entertainment will change with every theme, so there are plenty of reasons to keep coming back again and again to get the full experience of the Riverside Light Nights. Refreshments are available to purchase within the park, and with a fantastic range of pubs and eateries in Perth city centre just a short stroll away it’s the perfect destination for a great night out.

To get the most out of your visit to the Light Nights remember these top tips:

Tay Street

• Dogs are welcome, but do keep them on the leash. Pyrotechnics, including fireworks, will be part of both the Burns Night and Chinese New Year themes, so best to avoid those nights with your pet. • There is no on-site parking. Park and stride from the South Inch Car Park, just a ten minute walk away. You can, however, drop off less mobile passengers who wouldn’t manage that walk at the entrance. • Keep an eye on the weather and dress appropriately. Light Nights are outdoor events, so good shoes and warm clothes are a must.

Saturday 26 January 2019 Burns Night Parade and Lights

Sunday 27 January 2019 Burns Night and the Red Hot Chilli Pipers

Our Light Nights begin with a celebration of the contribution Scotland’s national poet Robert Burns has made to Scottish culture, with live entertainment and fun with a Scottish twist.

Night two of the Burns Night theme will feature live performances from Scotland’s BagRock favourites, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.

On Saturday night the fun kicks off at 6.00 pm with fun on Tay Street, and a parade featuring Scottish pipe band performing traditional music as they lead the crowds over the bridge to the Riverside Light Nights. Please note there may be pyrotechnics at this event.

Please note there is no parade on this date.

Tuesday 29 January and Wednesday 30 January 2019 - Dinosaurs Let the Riverside Light Nights take you back in time to when giant lizards roamed the earth, with our brand-new for 2019 Dinosaurs theme. Sure to be a favourite with big kids as well as little ones, explore Norie-Miller Park and find our visiting dinosaurs enjoying the lighting show.

Thursday 31 January and Friday 1 February 2019 Comic-Con Break out the fancy dress to celebrate your favourite comic book and sci-fi stars. Following on from one of the most popular themes of 2018, this year we’re bringing you a Comic-Con featuring replicas of the Tardis, the Michael Keaton Batmobile from the 1989 movie, and the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Cadillac on display both evenings. Along with a host of other activities to enjoy, there is plenty to entertain all the family.

Saturday 2 February 2019 Chinese New Year Parade and Lights Follow the Chinese Dragon as it leads the annual Chinese New Year Parade from 2 High Street, along St John Street and across the bridge to the Riverside Lights.

Sunday 3 February 2019 Chinese New Year There’s no parade on the second night of the Chinese New Year theme, but there will still be plenty of Chinesethemed activities available at NorieMiller Park to help usher in the Year of the Pig.

Tuesday 5 February and Wednesday 6 February 2019 - Magic & Wizardry A touch of magic comes to the Riverside Light Nights, with another brand new theme. Watch with awe and wonder as the powers of magic and wizardry entertain and delight the crowds.

Saturday 9 February and Sunday 10 February 2019 Love is in the air as the 2019 Light Nights programme wraps up with an early Valentine’s theme. Write a note to your valentine, and have your messages displayed in the sky during this magical theme. Be serenaded by the entertainers as you stroll through the romantic gardens and enjoy a glass of something fizzy.
