It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Mrs Linda Williams who has taught Gr 7 Science for ten years at Waterkloof Primary School. She certainly will be missed, but we wish her well for the future. Thank you, Mrs Williams, for your contribution to WPS. Waiting Class Thank you parents for supporting the new afternoon arrangments. Please note the following: Practical arrangements All learners not involved in extra-murals need to be collected from school by 14:15. All learners not collected by 14:15 are expected to report, with their suitcases, to the identified waiting class. A notice, with the waiting room number indicated on it, is up on the fence at the Julius Jeppe Street gate. Parents of waiting children must personally collect their child/ children from the waiting class. The waiting class is facilitated until 16:30 every afternoon, after which all learners will wait, unattended at the Rose Avenue gate for collection. Children of parents who have not paid the amount of R850.00 per month, in advance, still have to report to the waiting class for administrative purposes, after which they will move to the Rose Avenue gate. Please note that these children will not be allowed back on the premises. We strongly suggest that parents enrol them in an aftercare centre. Procedures within the waiting class Learners will be doing their homework or reading independently. No games of any form will be allowed. This is not an aftercare facility and no lunch or formalised homework classes will be facilitated. No sibling may come to sign brothers or sisters out on behalf of parents. Parents must do the signing themselves. Where alternative transport arrangements are in place, the responsible person/s must sign the child out.

Payment arrangements Parents who have learners in the waiting class will be charged R850.00 monthly, in advance. They will be invoiced for June by 5 June 2014. Children of parents who have not paid the amount by 13 June 2014, need to be collected in Rose Avenue. For your children’s safety we urge parents to place their children in an aftercare facility, as the children at Rose Avenue will be unsupervised. RCL Civvies Day and Cake & Candy

Physical Education  Tracksuit The children from Grades 2 to 7 are allowed to use their school track-suit for PE lessons with the school or house T-shirt. They must come to school dressed in their full school uniform and only change into their tracksuit for their PE lesson - they do this in the PE period.  Takkies Children are to pack their white takkies for PE lessons as the field will be wet and cold in winter. No learner will be allowed to do PE in their school shoes.  PE Lost Property Parents are to encourage their children to come and look for their missing PE items so that they can be correctly dressed for the next lesson. All items must be marked as they are all the same.  Medication Children must please bring their asthma pumps and epipens to the PE teacher at the beginning of the lesson and collect them from the PE teacher after the lesson. Please ensure that your children eat breakfast before coming to school. This will help them to have energy for the lessons before break. Doctors’ Notes When a child needs to be excused from a PE lesson, a doctor’s note or a letter from the parent must be submitted to the PE teacher. The note must be written in the Homework Diary under the teacher/parent notes. No note written by the child and signed by the parent will be accepted. Assessment is made difficult when children miss PE lessons repeatedly, even if notes are submitted, and it is not possible to give a result that matches your child’s real potential. Missing lessons, even with permission, will ultimately impact negatively on your child’s PE result.
