From the Headmaster’s Desk Staffing Mrs Retha Visser has resigned following the passing away of her husband in February. We thank her for her hard work and dedication to our school and children these past years. Our thoughts and prayers will remain with her and her family at this difficult time. We wish her well.

PTA Matters The Waterkloof Primary School Parent and Teacher Association had their AGM a couple of weeks ago and met for the first time on Tuesday 4 March 2014. The following portfolios have been filled: Chairperson Vice Chair Bursar Event Coordinators

The portfolios of Secretary and Communication are still available. The focus of the PTA this year will be on fellowship, identification of projects for the immediate and foreseeable future and structuring the association into a dynamic body, facilitating fundraising projects - projects that will benefit every student and promote fellowship amongst all stakeholders in our school. A range of new and exciting events are in the pipeline and parents and children can be assured of a fun filled 2014. Thank you to all parents who have already indicated their willing support to the PTA. Our new parents have not been forgotten as an event for only them is around the corner on Thursday 24 April 2014. More information will be forwarded by the PTA soon.

Admissions 2015

Admissions for 2015 open on Monday 7 April 2014, and application forms will be available from Reception from that day.

School Communicator

77 people have installed the School Communicator in the last 30 days. 495 people use the School Communicator on their desktops and 158 people use it on their mobile devices. 87% of parents use the School Communicator. There has been an increased usage of 37% in the last 30 days. Thank you to all the parents who use this effective means of communication.

Interschool Gala

Even though we lost the A League gala and will now swim in the B League, we had many swimmers who received medals and ribbons. The Victric Ludorum for the A League gala was from St Paulus and Kayleigh Adamson came second, with only a 6 point difference. Medal winners: Gold
