Swimming - The Inter School Gala will be taking place on Tuesday 3 March 2015 at Hillcrest

Swimming Pool. Swimmers will be informed if they make the team to swim in this gala. Please note that there are no U/8 events at the Inter School Gala. The bus will be leaving the school at 12:30 and returning at approximately 17:00. Parents are welcome to attend the gala.

Tennis - Georgia Kennealy has been very busy

playing tennis, and after a whole week of competing in the Gauteng North Primary School Championships, she took part in the Gauteng Junior Minis and won that competition.

Chess - Andre Duvenhage took part in the Riana Heyneke Section D Competition. He started the competition ranked number 5 and ended up ranked number 1 after five rounds! Well done Andre!

Charity

We will be collecting toiletries for children in places of safety and care this term. If you are willing to donate items please send any of the following to Mrs Shee’s classroom, room 19 by 2 March 2015. Body soap Body wash Bubble bath Body cream Toilet paper Deodorant

SPCA Collection

For the duration of Term 1, SPCA collection tins will be placed in the classrooms and learners can bring their small change and place their contributions in the tins. Any amount is appreciated as the SPCA desperately needs our help. Your generous contribution to this worthy cause will be highly appreciated.

Travelling Bookshop

Mrs J. Shee

The Travelling Bookshop will be visiting WPS on Monday 2 March 2015 from 10:30 - 16:00 and Tuesday 3 March 2015 from 10:00 - 14:30. Please send money to school with your child if you would like him/her to purchase a book. Parents are welcome to view the books between 14:00 and 16:00 on the Monday, and 14:00 and 14:30 on the Tuesday. Books generally range from R50 to R150. Please encourage your child to own his/her own books, to look after them and to read!
