Exams Parents, please note that if an official religious observance falls on the day of a formal exam, the school will try as far as possible to accommodate the children who are affected by the clash. Parents are asked to inform us as soon as possible if they notice a problem.

Well known speaker Mr Arnold Mol will be talking to ALL our parents on ‘Good Parenting Skills’ in the school hall on Wednesday 23 October 2013 at 18:00. His talk is extremely informative and a definite not to be missed presentation. A waiting class will be available for children accompanying their parents.
Charity

The end of the year is approaching fast and once again we have been contacted by the two charities we have supported in the past with Christmas gifts of children aged between 1 and 16. Without your generosity these children will not experience the joy and excitement of opening a gift, especially for them, on Christmas morning. If you would like to send in an appropriate new gift, please do so, unwrapped, by 29 November 2013. Thank you!
Wings of Love Thank you to all children and parents. WPS contributed 568 tins of baked beans to this charity for inclusion in their food hampers for those in need. Your incredible generosity is appreciated.
WPS Choir Evening

Congratulations to our junior and senior choirs on their magnificent performance with the Croons and Betsie Chauke. Our ‘Barnyard Style Evening’ was great fun for children, parents and performers alike. A resounding thank you to Mrs Ross, Miss Voigt and Mrs Lubbe for all their hard work with the choirs over this past year. Well done to all!

Tuesday 3 December 2013 18:00 - 20:00 WPS Hall and Foundation Phase lawns R30.00 per family. Tickets cover the cost of the programmes and the entertainment during the picnic. Children who are attending are asked to wear blue jeans, white T-shirts/school shirts (no logos), white takkies and silver tinsel in their hair. Families are asked to bring chairs/picnic blanket and picnic baskets filled with treats to enjoy on the Foundation Phase lawns after the service. All are most welcome.
PTA Nominations are open for new PTA members for 2014. If you are a parent who would like to be part of the PTA and you have a flair for fundraising, please contact the PTA on pta@waterkloofps.co.za.
Portuguese Lessons Vera offers Portuguese lessons at school on a Tuesday from 14:30 to 16:30. If anyone is interested in these lessons please contact her on 072 310 2728.
Children leaving the School Parents of children not returning to WPS in 2014 must please notify the school in writing as soon as their decision not to return is final. Not returning the Re-registration Form is not sufficient notification that your child is not coming back in 2014

Tennis - We are well under way with our tennis championships and the children have played their hearts out. Good luck to the players in the finals which will be held next week.
Cricket - The U/9 boys lost their first match against Eduplex and the U/10B match against Irene
Primary was rained out. The Open A and B teams both beat Brooklyn Primary convincingly. The A team won by 78 runs. Diego de Alveiro scored 66 from 34 balls for the A team. Thomas Minnie took 4 wickets for 8 runs and Logan Repko took 3 wickets for 7 runs for the B team. The U/10A boys bowled Brooklyn out in the allotted 15 overs. Well done!
Swimming - Both A and B teams enjoyed their galas on Friday afternoon, and the children are very busy at training and getting fit after the long winter break.
