From the Headmaster’s Desk 2014 Kahlil Gibran wrote in his book The Prophet: ‘In keeping yourself with labour you are in truth loving life’. Most certainly the staff and children of Waterkloof Primary School can relate to this quote. During 2014 CAPS was finally implemented in full throughout the school. Thank you to all members of staff for your hard work this year. Your dedication to your career, to the school and the learners of the school is hugely appreciated and most certainly the reason why our school is ranked as one of the top primary schools in South Africa. Thank you for the support you give one another throughout the year, and on a personal note, thank you to the School Management Team for their support to me this year. We are saying goodbye to Mr E. Trüter, who has been teaching at Waterkloof Primary School for nearly five years, and who is relocating to Orichstadt. We wish him well in his new endeavour. We are also saying goodbye to Mr P. Niemann who has been substituting for Mrs Prinsloo while she has been on accouchement leave. Finally, we are saying goodbye to Mrs I. Birch who is retiring at the end of this year. Mrs Birch has been teaching at Waterkloof Primary School for thirty years and has taught Science and computer skills during those years. She will be sorely missed by all. A sincere word of thanks to Mrs Melanie Dorfan, Chairperson of the School Governing Body, and all members of the SGB for the sound governance of our school this year. Thank you to the PTA, under the leadership of Mrs Magda Neser, and your team of parents, for your hard work in fundraising. To our children - congratulations on a very successful 2014. Thank you for your hard work in class, and also on the sports field, and cultural events. We wish you a fantastic, fun-filled holiday. Thank you to all our parents for your ongoing support to members of staff and your children. May we all have a blessed Christmas, filled with the joy of friendship, happiness and time spent with family. May the true meaning of this time be renewed in our hearts, minds and souls and manifest through our lives in 2015.
