All parents are invited to attend our Term 2 Parent Day on 14 May 2012 from 15:00 to 18:00. Please pop in to see any of your child’s teachers during the course of the afternoon.

Please send in warm blankets to school during the course of this term to make somebody’s winter more tolerable. Your cosy contribution to assist someone in need will be warmly appreciated.
Leapfrog glasses:
Please continue to send in old spectacles to support the Leap Frog Vision drive. The closing date has been extended to 8 June 2012.
SPCA As from Term 2 SPCA ‘Change Tins’ will be in each register class. Please send in any extra change you have at home on a regular basis to support this wonderful organisation – thank you!

Lost Property

The lost property shed is open daily during the term from 13:30 to 13:40. A R2.00 fine is charged for labelled lost items, and a R5.00 fine for unmarked lost items. This money will be placed in the SPCA tins, and sent to the organisation, when full.

Chess – Our chess players had mixed results in their last two matches. They beat Crawford 5 – 1, but
unfortunately lost to a very strong Laerskool Elarduspark team last week. The children in our team are very young, and were complimented on their skills and behaviour.
Netball – We hosted matches against Springvale Primary during the week, with the following results – the U/12B team won 5-4; the U/13B, U/9B and U/8B teams drew their matches while the rest of the teams lost their games. An enjoyable afternoon was had by all, however.
Soccer – Challenge Cup - the U/13B and U/10A teams won their matches and move on to the next round, but the U/13A and U/11A teams were unfortunately beaten by CBC. Matches played against Brooklyn Primary had the following results: U/13A lost 1-0; U/13B won 4-0; U/11A won 4-3, and U/10A won 3-2.
Karate – Congratulations to Liam Burgess, Luca Martin, Brendan Els, and Shana and Kyra Enslin On winning medals at the Gauteng North Karate tournament. They represented Harlequins Kyokushin Karate. Well done girls and boys!
