This year’s read-a-thon’s theme is Charlotte’s Web. Literacy week is in the week of 31 August to 4 September 2015. The Travelling Bookshop will be selling books to the children and parents in the hall on 31 August and 1 September 2015. The week will end with a ‘Hooked on Books’ production, our annual character dress up, picnic and read-a-thon on Friday 4 September 2015. See Read-a-thon letter for all the details.

SPCA - Charity
A special reminder that the charity we support during Term 3 is the SPCA. We ask our children to bring dog food, cat food and blankets for the SPCA animals, to school. We would like to appeal to all our valued parents and learners to support this project. It would be appreciated if each class can donate dog food, cat food, old or new blankets. All the food and blankets can be sent to the learners’ register teacher each morning. Each term SPCA collection tins that are placed in each register class for children to put their change into. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Entrepreneurs’ Day

The Grade 7s will be hosting their Entrepreneurs’ Day on Friday 28 August 2015 as part of their EMS project. There will be a variety of products for sale, and all children are invited to bring money to school on that day to support the Grade 7s.

Congratulations to Yerang Oh for winning the Spring Fair poster competition! The poster is printed on page 4 of this week’s Newsletter. Yerang is a past pupil of Waterkloof Primary School and currently in Grade 9 at Pretoria High School for Girls. Well done, we are very proud of you.

No additional studying is required for these papers. Revision has been done in class or given as homework during the course of this term. Please ensure, as far as possible, that your child is at school on the days of the exams. This is an excellent opportunity for our school and children to show how much they have learnt! ANA results will be sent to parents as soon as the papers have been marked by the teachers and moderated by the Department of Education.
