RCL Cake & Candy

Dr P. Biccard

Thank you very much to the Grade 5s and Gr 4P and 4D classes who brought goodies to sell. Together with the civvies money, R6400 was raised!

Big Walk

Mrs J. Shee

Congratulations to all the children who took part in the Big Walk last term. It was a fun day and enjoyed by all. It is such a shame that on the day many children were absent from school! Parents, please insist that your children get involved in the fun, fund-raising activities at school. They are so good for relationship bonding and building a positive feeling at school. The winning house was Mercury with 168 points, followed by Neptune with 161, and Saturn and Jupiter 156 and 151 respectively. An impressive amount of R43 127.70 was raised to put towards the staffroom upgrade. We cannot thank our children and parents enough for their incredible support and generosity.

Charity

Mrs J. Shee

Beans and Bread - Thank you to all parents and children who donated beans. We received an overwhelming response from our unbelievably caring community! You are highly valued - thanks again.

SPCA - Charity

Mrs A. Stobbart

The charity we support during Term 3 is the SPCA. We ask our children to bring dog food, cat food and blankets for the SPCA animals, to school. We would like to appeal to all our valued parents and learners to support this project. It would be appreciated if each class can donate as many tins/packets of dog food and cat food as possible as well as old or new blankets. All the food and blankets can be sent to your child’s register teacher. Mrs Korki Levanon from the SPCA will collect our donations at the end of the term. Each term SPCA collection tins are placed in each register class and we collect change from children and parents. Last term approximately R1200 was raised.

Thank you!

We are very grateful to our parents, learners and staff who open their hearts to such a needy cause.

Detention, Maintenance & Intervention Meetings

Mrs J. Shee

A sincere word of thanks to our parents who gave their 100% support to the school regarding their children attending detention and maintenance. Thank you also to the parents who attended the Intervention Meetings and gave their full attention to their children. Together we can help all our children to develop a good work ethic and to be responsible, young people who are accountable for their actions and behaviour. The staff of WPS are grateful for your support and backup.
