LENT HABITAT BUILD

COWETA SAMARITAN CLINIC

We will be working on insulation and siding this week. Once insulation is done, we can have the drywall sub-contractors come in and then we will start painting! Our schedule the following week will be Thursday (21st) only…not Saturday due to Memorial day weekend. We will start our day at 8 a.m. and plan to share devotion/prayer at 9 a.m. Address: 2 Midland Park Lane. (pictures on p. 5)

The Coweta Samaritan Clinic is a free clinic staffed by volunteers. We offer primary medical care to adults of Coweta County who do not have insurance and are at 200% or less of the federal poverty level. Currently, we have over 900 patients and over 70 volunteers who help at the clinic but, we are in need of additional volunteers who have some medical experience- RN’s, LPN’s, Medical Assistants, Nursing Assistants, etc – anyone who can take a blood pressure, vital signs and is familiar with medical terminology. We also need volunteers who can draw blood. Our clinics are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am until 2pm.We are extremely flexible with our scheduling and volunteer opportunities are available as much or as little as you like. If you or anyone you know might be interested in volunteering at the clinic, please call Ginny Lyles, Volunteer Coordinator, at 770-683-6983.

COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED MAY is our church’s month to volunteer at the Community Food Pantry. Please help support the Food Pantry with your help one day (or more!) this month! Work starts at 9 a.m. every morning (M-F). All volunteers should enter through the front door and sign in. Call 770.683.7705 for more info!

YOUTH CHOIR TOUR 2015 It is once again time for our annual Youth Choir tour! On Saturday morning, May 30, 67 choir members and 13 chaperones will depart for Texas. The choir will be leading worship in three churches: Emmanuel UMC in Memphis, TN, First UMC in Hope, AR, and Woodway UMC in Waco, TX. They will also be singing at CC Young Retirement Center in Dallas, and will be attending a Texas Rangers game in Arlington, visiting Six Flags Over Texas, and Cameron Park Zoo in Waco. The choir asks for your prayers as they travel. Pray that those who hear them will be blessed by their presence and their message. Also, pray for our chaperones, David Kinrade, Brent & Kelley Ritter, Bonnie Krider, Kerry Moore, Emily Carnes, Rachel Burrows, Allen Bell, Sam Madaris, Paul Davis, Julie Perkins, and Phil Harris. Finally, please plan to be present for our Youth Choir homecoming worship services on Sunday, June 7th at 8:30 & 11:00. We look forward to seeing you there!

The Atlanta BeltLine is not just some whimsical concept that only exists in the minds of planners and the myriad tabs of this website…it is happening right now. The best way to be “in the know” is to take a tour! Cost: $5 plus lunch money.

Simply follow these easy steps: 1) Visit the church website (NewnanFUMC.org); 2) Click the “Online Giving” banner (or click “give” at the top); 3) Follow the onscreen instructions to create an online profile and to schedule your recurring contributions. That’s it! Contact Owen Lambert (olambert@newnanfumc.org) if you have questions or need help.
