RALLY INFO: APRIL 21, 2018 As many of you know, there is a planned rally on Saturday, April 21, from 3-5pm, of the National Socialist Movement--a neo-Nazi political party--in Greenville St. Park. Law enforcement officials are strongly encouraging people to avoid the downtown area on that day. Below are some opportunities to counter their hateful message and to support our community and local shop owners who will lose business that day. Newnan FUMC is also encouraging our membership to pray up to and during the rally for both peace and the safety of the officers who will be working in Newnan. __________________________________________________________
#NewnanStrong
Friday, April 20 | 5-10pm | Downtown Newnan Shops & Restaurants Since many businesses will be closed downtown--and because law enforcement officials are encouraging people to avoid the area--let's show our support for those businesses and restaurants to help them recoup their losses. There will be music on the square from 5-10pm. Come support our small businesses!
Prayer Service
Friday, April 20 | 7pm | Greenville St. Park Before or after you shop and eat downtown, join an ecumenical gathering of Christians to pray over and for downtown Newnan. Participants will also be invited to prayer-walk around the downtown area.

SUNDAY SCHOOL OVERVIEW: SEEKERS CLASS The Seekers Sunday School Class was formed in 1985 and currently meets on the second floor of the Annex Building. The age range of the members is 40 and up and is comprised of singles and couples. The average attendance is 20-25 and we are fortunate to have Kim Duncan as our lead teacher. Toni Brown and Eddie Millians also taught Seekers for a number of years and they are currently serving as our wonderful substitute teachers. We we began a new study “The Holy Spirit, Knowing Our Comforter” by Max Anders on April 8 and it will last approximately twelve weeks. The class enjoys a few social events during the year, including a Christmas gathering and a few breakfast socials during the Sunday School hour. Seekers is a close-knit group that provides its members with friendship and support in times of need, but we also reach out to the congregation and the community. We have sponsored the ZOE project that is ongoing in our church with a monthly donation over the past year, we provided a number of gift cards for Bridging the Gap to purchase new school shoes for children in need, and purchased Christmas gifts and needed items for a family in the community that recently lost the mother in an automobile accident. We hope you will give the Seekers Class a try if you are looking for a Sunday School home!! 3
1 in 6 women and 1 in 10 men, over the age of 55, will have Dementia. If you are just wanting more information about the disease or are a caregiver, you will want to attend this event.
