This coming Sunday will be my last time to worship with you as your Pastor. Becky and I are not only completing our ministry here at Newnan UMC, but we are retiring after 40 years of service in the North Georgia Conference. We appreciate so much the opportunity we have had these last four years to serve Christ with you, the congregation of Newnan First. This is a wonderful church family and we will miss seeing you on Sunday mornings and the other activities in the life of the church. Our prayer is that God will continue to bless your ministry and enable your influence in the community to expand in the years to come! I know you will be blessed by the ministry of Charles and Mickey Robinson. Their first Sunday with you will be June 25th. Make a commitment now to begin praying for the two of them as they come to be your Pastor and spouse. Do whatever you can to make them feel at home! Keep in mind that though they are looking forward to new ministry with you, they are also saying goodbye to the congregation at Mountain Park UMC. Support them and love them as they begin their work among you. It is hard to believe that we are completing 40 years of ministry, but the calendar does not lie! We anticipate with great joy what God has in store for us in the days ahead. Thank you again for sharing a part of this journey with us. We wish you all the best!

KENYA: OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH ZOE

We are still looking for 20 families to give $35/month for one year to partner with our church’s commitment to the North GA conference bridge to Kenya. This is the equivalent of a family of four giving up one meal at a fast food restaurant a month in order to empower an orphan to escape the harsh life of homelessness, abuse, and starvation and move toward a life of selfsufficiency. See Brooke (bbarksdale@newnanfumc. org) or JoAn (jkinrade@newnanfumc.org) for more information and how you can join a team traveling to meet our group in September!

STAINED GLASS WINDOW PRESERVATION & RESTORATION The stained glass windows at Newnan First United Methodist Church are our most personal and easily identified historic treasures. It is time to replace the storm windows (protective coverings) and some of the windows themselves need restoration and repair. A project is now underway to perform the necessary preservation of these windows by Llorens Glass & Mirror Company of North Georgia. There is an opportunity for members of Newnan FUMC to take part in and give to this project. To contribute to the general fund and/or sponsor the restoration of a specific window, please contact the finance office (olambert@newnanfumc.org or 770.253.7400 x207) or Bob McKoon, Trustees Chairperson (rum1947@numail.org or 770.328.7553). Thank you!
