This training will take place after the 11:00 service in the Parish Hall. We will eat lunch and begin our training which will include going over our recently revised policy, explanation of the Participation Covenant, and Background Check release forms. Training is mandatory, so please make plans to attend. Childcare will be extended for all ages down in the nursery and we will feed the children lunch as well. If you have questions or need to RSVP please see or email Brooke Barksdale (bbarksdale@newnanfumc.org) or Maria Bowers (mbowers@ newnanfumc.org).

SYMPATHY

Christian Sympathy is extended to the families of Sammy Reeves and Catherine Morenzi for the death of Sammy’s mother/Catherine’s grandmother.

PARISH CHOIR INVITATION: “Make a joyful noise

to the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with SINGING” Psalm 100:12. There is a place reserved just for YOU to fulfill those words spoken to us. On Wednesday evenings at 5:45 p,m., starting August 10, the very best group of people meet, sing to the Lord and fill the room with gladness and joy. OK, the following just went through you mind, right…..? “But I don’t know how to sing” – we can teach you!!! “I eat dinner at church on Wednesday evening” - they begin serving at 5:15 (and you can sneak in a little early if you are there): “ I can’t be there every Wednesday, Sunday” - we know that…..but we make it work: “ I don’t like to get up that early on Sunday” well, this one you just have to decide to do and do it: “I don’t like to wear choir robes” – WE DON’T EITHER – so WE DON’T ! You get the best seat in the house without having to rush to make sure someone else isn’t sitting in it: You find out who is always early and who is always late :) & you get to see which side Stuart parts his hair on that particular Sunday! So you see, there is NO reason to not join us on August 10 at 5:45 – 6:45 in the bell room (beside the choir room by the elevator – AND we are right beside the bathroom – a big plus!). Come join us for a “Trial Membership”, we look forward to hearing you! (I hear the director is awesome)

CONFIRMATION COUNSELORS/VOLUNTEERS

NFUMC Confirmation would not be a success without our adult volunteers and counselors! As a counselor, you have the opportunity to see and guide our sixth graders as they grow in their faith and explore what it means to be a member of Newnan First UMC. Counselors, our leadership team will meet soon to kick off the 2016-2017 Confirmation year! If you are interested in learning about being a counselor or serving as part of the Confirmation leadership team, please talk to Maria, who can be contacted via 678876-9086 or mbowers@newnanfumc.org.
