Pnina’s Inspiration for the New Men’s Rings Collection “Since I launched my first-ever engagement jewelry collection in partnership with Jared, brides-to-be who have said yes to the loves of their lives and to a Pnina ring have been asking me to create a men’s ring collection so that they can gift their love his perfect Pnina ring too. I have long been known as the fairy godmother of brides, and the time has come to be the fairy godmother of grooms as well.

a note from Pnina Tornai

“Creating my first men’s ring collection, it was important to me to put my personal design touches into each and every ring. I wanted to have elements that matched the bridal collection in a more masculine way, and to include my signature rose gold and black diamonds. Each ring can of course be custom ordered in the gold color of your choice, and in black or white diamonds. “Like the engagement rings, each men’s ring includes my signature rose gold cuff with three sparkling diamonds, symbolizing you, your beloved, and the life you create together. It gives me such joy to see both individuals in a couple wear my creations and be blessed by the message of love that my rings carry.” One by Pnina Tornai Men's Rings available exclusively at Jared the Galleria of Jewelry | Photos: Dvir Kahlon | MUA: Ortal Elimeleh Hair: Benjamin Ruimi | Gowns available at Kleinfeld Bridal

A LUXURY WEDDING WITH A THEME OF

“Our Love is the Rose that Blooms Forever” This summer wedding in South Florida was all things red roses and luxury. The color palette was classic black and white with an emphasis on red roses that culminated in the beauty that is this cover wedding story. In fact, even the bride said her favorite memory from the day was walking into the reception area for the first look and seeing the masterpiece their wedding planner put together.

The flowers were roses.

The cake was rum & pound.

SAY I DO

TO

SPADE & SPARROWS

First love, then wine! In May 2019, Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe set out on her next big endeavor and launched Spade & Sparrows, a wine label and community that embodies great wine without the rules. She creates wine not only because it’s delicious, but because of the special way it brings people together. She's not a sommelier or a wine snob, she's just a girl who loves having a great glass of wine in hand. Each bottle of Spade & Sparrows is made with your taste buds, nights-out and (most importantly) your nights-in, in mind. We asked Bristowe what her favorite summer sippers were and she recommended three — the 2020 Rosé, 2021 Pinot Grigio & 2019 Pinot Noir (the perfect light bodied red to serve chilled during the warmer months). We’ve given you the tasting notes on each, but first, and most importantly, couples should know that their collection of beautiful (and equally delicious) wines are the perfect addition to any bachelorette party, bridal shower or wedding table. In fact, the company has just launched their new special occasion pricing structure for such celebratory events. Special Occasion Pricing* 10% off when ordering 1-3 cases (+ complimentary shipping) 15% off when ordering 4-6 cases (+ complimentary shipping) 20% off when ordering 7+ cases (+ complimentary shipping) *discounts automatically applied at checkout

The Standard is Set for Black and Colored Wedding Dresses

MAGGIE SOTTERO DESIGNS, one of the most recognized bridal gown manufacturers in the world, reinforces its role as a trailblazer in the bridal industry with the release of its trend-setting black wedding dresses. “The concept of what’s considered traditional has evolved. A black wedding dress can be a timeless, year-round option,” says Edric Woo, Lead Bridal Designer at Maggie Sottero Designs. “This style is for the bride who chooses to forgo the traditional look for a black wedding dress so that they can express their inner personality during the most important moment of their life.” One of the most popular black wedding dresses among brides of all sizes and body types, and the most popular gown for plus size brides, is Sottero and Midgley’s Zander, a black lace ballgown wedding dress that continues to leave brides and wedding guests starstruck. Thousands of brides have worn Zander, and the demand for this gown and other black wedding dresses isn’t falling anytime soon. To address the rising demand for black wedding dresses, Maggie Sottero Designs has debuted several styles offered in black or featuring black details. These highly anticipated new, black wedding dresses are being released as part of the brand’s Mid-Season Drop, its release between seasons featuring new variations of popular styles. This Mid-Season release is developed by taking into account demand from brides and retailers collected throughout the season. Brides have demanded black wedding dresses for decades, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Ellen Pompeo and Avril Lavigne. However, there is a fine line distinguishing a black formal dress from a black wedding dress, and Maggie Sottero Designs has conquered it effortless. By incorporating traditional bridal elements like feminine lace, embroidery, delicate draping, tulle, and bearing, Maggie Sottero’s black wedding dresses feel edgy while maintaining the company’s exceptionally romantic bridal reputation. Maggie Sottero Designs has also introduced color in various ways, knowing how popular it is amongst brides who wish to add a pop of color in their wedding day. The brand has answered this need with Nerida, a collagecore pink floral bridal gown; Alera, an elegant red ballgown wedding dress; Elaine, an art deco gown available in four color ways, including black over blush; Florie, an affordable rose gold ballgown wedding dress; Norvinia, a glamorous black bridal gown; Louisa, an A-line wedding dress with green vine embroidery; and more. These colorful gowns and more are available to try on with Authorized Retailers. Maggie Sottero Designs is in a lifetime commitment with bridalwear. Now in its 25th year of designing wedding gowns, Maggie Sottero Designs is proud to say it is “family-owned.” With its moms and daughters running the show, the company is especially keen on designing for the diversity of brides searching for the perfect wedding gown — something romantic, stylish, and truly comfortable to wear. Every Maggie Sottero dress upholds the company’s commitment to premium construction, impeccable styling, and incomparable fit, and reflects its value of love for ALL. Maggie Sottero Designs is a super fan of the brick-and-mortar boutique, as it partners with hundreds of local bridal salons in over 70 countries to provide brides-to-be with a beautiful and personalized experience with their friends and family. The company believes every bride deserves to feel exceptional on their big day, whatever their style, budget, and wedding vision.

It’s a Nice Day for a White Orchid Wedding By Althea Wiles, Floral Designer

Orchids are not only beautiful…they are distinctive with a rich history. They exude timelessness, refinement, love and passion. Orchids are monosymmetric, which means that both halves of the flower look the same as to mirror each other, a symbol of unity. During the 1800s, orchids were very rare. They posed as a sign of luxury as well as good taste. Some Victorians would search and collect orchids, selling them for a pretty penny. It is said that when you receive an orchid as a gift, the rarer the orchid, the deeper the love and passion the other person felt for you. They are long-lasting and can also be used in so many unique ways throughout your wedding. Add those orchids to the guest list and put an elegant touch to your wedding. From bouquets to centerpieces, white orchids have become a huge trend on the wedding scene. With their strong presence and distinctive shape, there are many ways you can incorporate white orchids into your wedding. Showcasing a great mix of symbolism and luxury, orchids are simply an ideal flower for anyone’s special day. Bringing together many white orchids and seeded eucalyptus could create big and beautiful bouquets and centerpieces. While some choose to keep it simple with single orchids paired with sage greens for a more dainty look. Mixing in traditional roses or peonies will add texture, color, and layers to your arrangements. Even if you are wanting to only have a few standout orchids in your wedding, there are many creative options. Continues on next page

1. Altar . Adding orchids to an altar space will add a beautiful representation of symbolism as well as a lovely view for your guests and pictures. Drape an entire wedding arch for a dreamy look or simply place around the sides or a corner to save on budget. Set on an altar table with sparkling candlelight for a romantic touch. 2. Bouquets . Adding an orchid to your bouquet is not only beautiful visually, but also figuratively. The symbolism of the white orchid is a lovely sentiment. Bouquets with orchids can be full cascading or small and refined. Their shape can created very sculpture-like bouquets when carefully placed. 3. Boutonnières . Orchid plants grow many single flowers that can bloom almost every month of the year. They make stately boutonnières. White orchids create a classic look, but the unique shape would make any blazer stand out. 4. Centerpieces . Mix along with any kind of wedding greenery to create a luxurious and alluring view. Many times, centerpieces are the staple of your decor. Having a large, luxe, and lavish orchid centerpiece is sure to make jaws drop. Or make it minimalist with a single orchid sprinkled throughout. 5. Chair Decor . Making sure to put an extra touch on even something as small as the chairs would show how greatly detailed the event was planned. It’s also a great filler if things are feeling a bit empty. This can double as a logistical piece of reserved seating, as well. 6. Corsages . White orchid corsages mixed with matching boutonnières puts an elegant touch to any wedding party. Corsages serve to highlight those attending the event that holds the honor of being close with the bride or groom. Typically mothers, grandmothers and female attendants will wear a corsage as a lovely accessory. 7. Flower Wall . Everyone loves to take pictures at weddings. Why not add some luxury to your photo booth area. A flower wall of white orchids creates a unique backdrop. Opting for orchids is a great way to break from the norm of often used roses or hydrangeas. 8. Hairpiece . Wearing a flower behind your left ear is a symbol of having a significant other. You could also wear an orchid crown to create an elegant, yet bohemian design. Use one in each of the bridesmaids’ hairstyles to create a cohesive look. 9. Cake Flowers . Adding a beautiful bloom to the top of your cake as a cake topper is a simple and exquisite touch. Floral cake toppers are not only romantic, but genuinely liven up your cake. You could create a classic and traditional single flower topper or an extravagant look by embellishing the entire cake with buds. 10. Petals . Instead of throwing rice or confetti to have your guests send you off, use soft and beautiful flower petals from white orchids. This is an eco-friendly, symbolic and unique send-off. Venues tend to prefer petals as they are biodegradable and easy clean up after the wedding.

Why Couples Should Consider

Live Music

with Aloha Erica, Florida Wedding Musician

PLANNING A WEDDING REQUIRES LOTS OF DECISION-MAKING. Some decisions come easier than others — color palette or flavor cake, for example. The decision to have live music at your wedding may not be easy, which is what we’re going to do — make it easy. We got with Erica of Aloha Erica, the well-known and well-respected award-winning acoustic guitarist and vocalist, to go over some of the things you should know when making this particular decision.

The Alive and Meaningful Ambiance Erica sets out 7 simple reasons why live music should be considered and most have to do with making your day unique, feel good, and personalized. They are: 1. Live music creates a unique experience since most musicians can create their own renditions that have never been heard before. 2. Live music brings people together as they share the same once-in-a-lifetime performance. 3. With live music, you and your guests will have a lasting memory of the day every time you hear those special songs played, like your walk down the aisle and your first dance. 4. Live music can set the tone of the day from the moment guests arrive. 5. Having a quality live musician can eliminate things going wrong since they can adapt at any second to make the timeline seem like it went as expected. 6. Live musicians often have a specific style so you can choose the vibe you're looking for. 7. Having a live musician allows you to customize the feel of the moment by working with them to shorten or lengthen songs, or even to add in special lyrics dedicated to your loved one.

The Ability to Play Nice with DJs Deciding to hire a musician doesn’t mean you cannot also have a DJ. In fact, many of the best weddings have both, Erica explains, a musician to play live music during the guest’s arrival, ceremony, and cocktail and dinner hours and a DJ to take over during the speeches, first dances, cake cutting, and dance party portion of the night. In her words, “I love seeing the day transition from the most serene, enchanting mood set by the live musician, into a high energy, we-love-every-song kind of dance session with a talented DJ.”

The Budget Won’t Break Music sets the mood, the atmosphere, and brings family and friends together so it’s worth setting aside even a small budget, as a small budget can go a long way when selecting a quality musician. “The cost for hiring a live musician can range depending on a number of factors including, number of musicians, length of time, location, and customized add-ons like writing a song for you for your wedding day,” Erica notes. However, on average the cost is less than a grand and “most solo musicians range from $300$800 for a ceremony performance, adding on a few hundred dollars per cocktail hour, dinner performance, and extra hours.” 43

CELEBRATE WEDDINGS

The Song Selection is Entirely Yours Musicians understand the song selection is entirely your own and they can make them yours too. Musicians can mold existing songs by adjusting the length, adding personalized lyrics, or even writing a personalized song for you as a couple. But if you aren’t looking for any of those touches and just want to enjoy songs as they are, then they should be able cover a range of songs, especially your favorite. And we asked Erica what her most requested song is just for fun and she told us it is “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. According to Erica, “This song has held onto a spot on the lists of songs to walk down the aisle to for many years. It really is such a beautiful song with its elegance, serene nature, and profound commitment in the lyrics as it speaks to the connection two people make having waited a long time to finally be united forever.”

Tips from a Pro as You Hire a Musician We couldn’t let Erica go without giving us some tips of the trade, things you should know when hiring musicians for live music at your wedding. And her number one most important tip is to read the musician’s reviews and watch their performances. This extra effort will help you determine if they would be a good fit for your wedding. In a close second, Erica tells us that “another tip is to look for clues as to whether [the musician is] organized and [has] mastered the art of flowing with the timeline. Most people don't know that a live musician's job is to guide the timeline of the ceremony with songs that flow in and out of the program elements in sync with the officiant. When you have an expert musician who knows what to expect and how to coordinate well with everyone involved, the planner, venue coordinator, officiant... and don't forget you, the couple, you'll have an amazing experience.” If you want to look no further than Erica, then remember she will never let you settle for impersonal wedding music that just checks the box. You’ll get songs that really matter, songs that help you relax into enjoying the day. She does this by guiding you in picking out songs, personalizing them, and performing exquisite live renditions. For Erica, it’s not about a one size fits all experience. Her “passion is to create an ambience that will fill you with a sense of being truly known and truly loved for who you are.” So all couples go through a process to select the perfect songs for their story, and to help them get started, she shares her playlist of recommended love songs. Visit her website and follow along with her on IG @alohaerica. About Erica Erica has been a performance musician for over 15 years. She’s also 5 Star Rated on Google and has provided the most high-quality experience of unique renditions of songs for couples all over the world. She didn't start off as a wedding musician but found her stride when friend after friend kept asking her to perform for their wedding.

Ashley & Joni

This spring wedding was everything a Sunday funday wedding should be, opting for an intimate brunch-style wedding. The color scheme was black and white that played nicely with the neutral-toned florals. And in keeping with the theme, an assortment of bundt cakes was selected in lieu of a traditional cake.

When asked what was Ashley’s favorite memory from the day, she couldn’t deny it was walking down the aisle and seeing how absolutely gorgeous Joni looked. But she quickly realized another memory was competing for favorite memory, and that was how much she enjoyed taking photos together after a beautiful union of two soulmates, best friends and partners.

The couple chose a beautiful blend of Silver Dollar Eucalyptus, Baby Blue Eucalyptus, Blush Roses, White Calla Lilies, White Freesia, Pink Astilbes, and Anemones for their florals.

When asked what was Joni’s favorite memory from the day, she knew it was the whole day. But when pressed, she loved the reception where she and Ashley were dancing and she danced down and saw Ashley's garter that said her last name. . . . She did not know Ashley was going to take her name!

A Twist on Timeless

PALOMA BLANCA’S NEW FALL/WINTER 2022 COLLECTION redefines timeless romance with twelve fashion-forward looks. Versatile sleeves, skirt slits, and low-key sheer lace panels are among the redefined details that bring new life to classic wedding dress silhouettes this season. The new collection provides a number of separate sleeve options that will appeal to the bride looking to switch up her look throughout her wedding day, and we’ve got all the looks on the coming pages. Styles 5008 and 5010 offer a subtle transformation with detachable draped fabric sleeves, whereas the long lace sleeves from Style 5009 will make more of a statement. Two key features are back this season for those looking for a bold bridal look: Alluring off-the-shoulder necklines and thigh high skirt slits. The notched offthe-shoulder neckline of Style 5000 is perfect for brides seeking a contemporary flare, while the neckline of Style 5001 is a more traditional shoulder-bearing bodice. Style 5003 contrasts elegant long sleeves with a glamorous skirt slit, while the square plunging neckline and skirt slit on Style 5011 brings drama to the collection. The slit on the dreamy soft Organza skirt of Style 5002 is a playful spin on this wellloved bridal trend. Lace is a go-to material in the bridal fashion world, but this season, typical lace usage has been elevated. Styles 5007 and 5009 are ultra-chic takes on the quintessential lace bridal gown — lightly draped lace on the Style 5007 bodice adds subtle charm to this minimalist silhouette, and the head-to-toe Sequin Lace of Style 5009 gives this wedding dress the ultimate wow factor. Sheer lace side inserts on Style 5004 create a flattering figure, and the lace insert over the train of this dress ensures a breathtaking aesthetic from every angle. Chanting floral lace layered over glittering sequin tulle, combined with a full Organza skirt makes Style 5006 our most romantic new gown. Paloma Blanca’s Fall/Winter 2022 Collection is a clever and fresh take on timeless bridal style. Their signature Paloma Blanca charm, elegance, and comfort has been woven into each new gown. Every Paloma Blanca wedding dress is designed and produced in Toronto, Canada, ensuring that we can always promise outstanding quality. Their team dedicates themselves to sourcing the finest materials and creating gowns that will make the bride feel as good as she looks while she walks down the aisle. Paloma Blanca gowns are available at over 200 bridal boutiques worldwide.

Real Wedding

Katelyn & Adam

This spring wedding was designed to capture all things classic with the timeless theme. It was important to the couple to be able to look back on their wedding years from now and feel their style’s still relevant. That drove their color palette too — emerald green with peach, light green and ivory accents. The guys wore grey in keeping with the warm tones.

The couple chose white roses with other seasonal white and peach colored flowers with greenery.

In ultimate wedding cake style, the couple had three delicious flavors! First, vanilla cake with chocolate ganache. Second, red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. Third, but certainly not least, marble cake with Oreo buttercream filling.

The couple agreed their first look was their favorite memory. They did their first look outside of the Capitol in Madison. They both had surprise gifts for each other (the bride got her groom a tie clip with her handwriting engraved and he got her an extra ring). When they turned around, their entire bridal party was spying through the windows.

CELEBRATE WEDDINGS

Pronovias coral gables

Here Comes the Groom, Too By Staci Dunn, The Cake Lady Custom Cakes

The British rock band, The Cure, said in their 1979 hit song that Big Boys Don’t Cry. Boy, were they wrong! Big boys do cry, especially on their wedding day. I have watched hundreds of TikToks and YouTube videos in preparation of this article and to watch these gentlemen be so moved, is heartwarming. This strong emotional outpouring of love and hope, shows no discrimination among men. It is HIS day, too! We, as a society, tend to focus more on the bride with respect to weddings, but for some men it can be a very emotional moment. When the guests stand and turn to honor the bride as she makes her way down the aisle, he catches his breath and can be moved to tears by that special moment. As a professional cake artist specializing in weddings, I attend many. I find myself taking advantage of the opportunity to watch the groom's expression of emotions as he sees his bride for the first time. As a #momofboys, I will continue to cherish those moments. His life is also about to change. His heart is also full of love and expectations for a future spent with the person before him. His family and friends are also there to support and celebrate with him. His best man and groomsmen are by his side to show their love and kinship. Watching some of these videos has truly moved me. Seeing the support given to the groom at the altar, by the honored few who were carefully chosen to stand by his side, is a moment I don’t want to miss. While celebrating this union, it is always important to take an opportunity to make the groom feel as special as the bride. One way I always recommend to do so is to offer a groom’s cake. While a wedding cake is usually a romantic centerpiece, a groom’s cake is typically representative of the groom’s interests. This can be a great opportunity to provide a special dessert at the rehearsal dinner and to honor the groom at the same time. Another alternative is to offer a more decadent dessert option in a theme that represents the groom, along side the wedding cake. Let all that you do, be done in love (1 Corinthians 16:14). Regardless of the level of participation in the planning and decision making, the groom is obviously an essential character in this special day that can sometimes be unintentionally overshadowed. Let’s not forget to celebrate our grooms as well as our brides, and bring an extra hanky for him, because big boys do cry!

Real Wedding

This fall wedding was full of elegant country club vibes, sticking to the elegant black and white theme and color scheme selected.

The flowers were elegant florals in whites and greenery.

The couple agreed their first look was their favorite memory from the day, but also couldn’t deny they equally enjoyed spending the night dancing the night away with their closest friends and family.

Keeping with their theme, the couple opted for a beautifully black and white decorated white almond pound cake with a tasty mocha buttercream.
