Officer Juan Duran proudly represented the Surfside Police Department as a member of a multijurisdictional Honor Guard Team participating in the ceremony.

The Police Department’s new initiative, the Auxiliary Marine Patrol program, commenced Memorial Day weekend. The Auxiliary Marine Patrol Unit consists of Sergeant Julio Torres and Officers Ronald Donoso, Juan Duran, Dianna Hernandez and Lesmes Ruiz. All members of the unit have completed the required Marine patrol training and will receive invaluable real-world training as they accompanyneighboring marine patrol units including Bal Harbour and Bay Harbor Islands, and Indian Creek Police Departments. This program is beneficial to the Town of Surfside, the community and the agencies they will be assisting.
