Your Impact on SigEp in 2021-22

2021-22 ANNUAL FUND BY THE NUMBERS

CAREER COACHING & LIFE AFTER COLLEGE

Your giving to the Annual Fund funded a significant portion of each of SigEp’s leadership programs, in addition to supporting staffing and operations for fundraising and education. Thank you for your record-breaking support for the Annual Fund and your partnership with us as we Build Balanced Leaders for the World’s Communities. •

$1,482,623 raised for the Annual Fund

4,662 brothers and friends donating

466 Board of Governors members, our lead giving society

73% of the Annual Fund goes directly to implement SigEp programs (including Carlson Leadership Academy, Ruck Leadership Institute, Tragos Quest to Greece, Career Coaching, Life After College, Grand Chapter Conclave, National Transition Retreat, Springboard, the Balanced Man Program and SigEp Learning Communities)

Since late 2020, 1,287 undergraduates have met with an alumnus in their career field of choice. Leveraging the power of SigEp’s 250,000 living alumni, the Career Coaching program pairs undergrads with alumni to provide much-needed mentorship in their prospective field. Because of your generosity, as part of SigEp’s efforts to develop our men to succeed after graduation, Life After College, an in-person career preparedness event, will also return this fall. “My career coach helped me completely rebuild my resume, which helped me secure a summer climate policy internship in Washington, D.C., and my chapter brother who grew up in the area graciously invited me to stay with him and his family this summer. This has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I have learned tons!”

27% goes to the Foundation’s operations, including staffing and fundraising, technology and office expenses.

CARLSON LEADERSHIP ACADEMY & OFFICER TRAINING In 2022, nearly 600 undergraduate leaders attended an in-person Carlson Leadership Academy, designed to give them the skills they need to effectively provide the SigEp experience to their brothers. Attendees learned from 77 dedicated volunteers, with 100% of officers leaving Carlson feeling energized to improve their chapter. Several hundred brothers attended virtual executive development sessions throughout the year, and the new Springboard program equipped 82 younger undergraduate “rising leaders” to grow into leadership roles in their chapters. Because of your generosity, this winter, Carlson Leadership Academy will expand from training five officers to all eight executive positions, as well as tracks for rising leaders and volunteers. “I was already motivated to take on the role of president for my chapter, but after Carlson, I am now inspired to do even better with my position. CLA has equipped me with new skills and ideas to be a better leader for my chapter and help my brothers grow and be successful.” —Robert Tackett, Morehead State ’23

RUCK LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

the cost burden your Annual Fund support reduced for each Ruck scholar

132 undergraduate leaders from chapters around the country came to the University of Richmond to benefit from SigEp’s landmark leadership program. Selected from 543 applicants, 2022 Ruck Scholars gathered in person for the first time since 2019 to explore leadership concepts and gain actionable insights they can bring back to their chapters. Through the guidance of expert alumni facilitators, scholars left with a roadmap for their personal leadership, to utilize in their chapters and the rest of their lives.

“Bonding in the sessions with the other undergrads, while sharing some laughs and learning invaluable leadership skills was the most memorable part of my Ruck experience. I’ve thought of so many positive ideas to bring to the chapter. It all starts with creating a vision for the future and supporting the individuals who contribute to that vision.” —Cole Brown, Elon ’23

TRAGOS QUEST TO GREECE Seventeen Tragos Quest to Greece scholars embarked on the journey of a lifetime. The Tragos Quest scholars recently returned from Greece, a study abroad program that grows their knowledge of their Fraternity and understanding of themselves and encourages them to share their journey with brothers nationwide. Selected out of 166 applicants, Tragos Quest scholars explore Greek culture and reflect upon the origins of SigEp’s values and the Balanced Man ideal.
