The most beautiful time on the beach is sunrise and sunset. That golden hour can be a time to self-reflect or a romantic rendezvous. If you’re heading down to the beach for golden hour or planning to be there all day here are a few of my favourite must-haves to have on the beach.

For sunset glam, here are a few sexy beauty essentials.

For glistening skin, Tom Ford Shimmering Body Oil captures the sultry effect of light-reflective, lucent skin and tempts the senses with the citrus floral musk of private blend soleil neige. This silky, lightweight oil illuminates skin with shimmers of platinum leaf. The escapist fragrance mimics the serene shimmer of sun on snow.

On her face, I used Codex Beauty Labs Bia Face Oil and Tom Ford Soleil Glow Bronzer in Gold Dust. To apply, I dusted this golden powder bronzer with my Troy Jensen Pro Artist Large Fan Brush. The fan shape of the brush and its soft synthetic bristles contour the cheekbones, jawline and temples, perfectly layering a subtle glow to the complexion.

For this sultry look, the only makeup I used was black eyeliner, a shimmery cream eyeshadow, waterproof mascara, a beautiful powder bronzer and sheer nude pink lipgloss. On Daniella’s eyes, I smudged Tom Ford black eyeliner and patted on Tom Fords Cream Color For Eyes in platinum.

For her lips, I went hydrated and sheer. Tom Ford created Soleil Lip Blush. This decadent, uniquely shade-shifting balm perfectly captures the gilded glow of tom ford soleil with exclusive gold-toned flecks and packaging. For a hint of sheer colour, I added a touch of Tom Fords Gloss Luxe in Sunrise Pink.

If you’re on the beach all day, be sure to use iS Clinical Eclipse Spf 50+ Ultra Sheer, Broad Spectrum, Spf 50+ Perfectint. It’s light but gives maximum protection.

When lounging by the pool, whether you dive into the water or just lounge poolside, here are a few of my favourite beauty products you’ll need this season to look your very best. Let’s dive in!

Hair

To start, it’s important to protect your hair from chlorine, especially if your hair is colour treated. There are a couple of options; you can wear a bathing cap or follow these steps to protect your hair from damaging chlorine.

1. Rinse and wet hair before and after swimming.

When you presoak your hair with clean tap water or non-chlorinated water before entering the pool, your hair strands absorb that water, minimizing the amount of chlorine that is absorbed. Likewise, it’s always a good idea to rinse your hair thoroughly with clean water after swimming. You can apply some clarifying shampoo to give it a deeper clean.

2. Apply coconut oil, olive oil and other natural oils to your hair.

If you’re a frequent swimmer or have hair that’s more prone to chlorine damage, consider applying a leave-in chlorine protectant on your hair. Natural oils, including coconut oil, olive oil, and jojoba act as a protective layer to prevent chlorine and other pool chemicals from being absorbed into your hair strands. For added protection, use a deep conditioning mask or leave-in conditioner, too. Swim sprays and gentle shampoos after swimming can help with protection from chlorine.

Makeup

On Olivia, I used Codex Labs Bia Face Oil on her skin then Chanel Beauty’s N°1 De Chanel Lip And Cheek Balm in the shade Red Camellia. I patted this gorgeous red cream blush onto Olivia‘s cheek, across the bridge of her nose and onto her lips for a sunkissed glow.

For her bronzed complexion, I applied Chanel Les Beiges Foundation and Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream in 390Soleil Tan Bronze with my Troy Jensen Pro Artist Kabuki Brush and blended over her face, neck and chest.

On her eyes, I smudged and blended Chanel’s Stylo Ombre Et Contour Eyeshadow – Liner – Khôl in 12 - Contour Clair and applied Le Volume De Chanel Waterproof Mascara in Noir black.

When I travel, I prefer to stay at Airbnb’s. I find hotel rooms to be a bit confining, especially if you’re travelling with companions. Having a fridge and a kitchen also helps with costs since meals can be cooked on your own or you can have saved leftovers from the night before.

A washer/dryer is always pretty handy, so you don’t need to pack as much, meaning you can shop more! The hosts are often locals and have a wealth of information you won’t always find online.

Beauty Hacks

HYDRATE! On the plane and when you’re travelling. Jetlag is a real thing and staying hydrated helps so much! Most airports have filtered water fountains now, so bring a reusable bottle and minimize buying expensive singleuse plastics.

Sunscreen (no matter what the destination) plus all of my skin care, because healthy skin goes on holiday too.

Beauty Hacks

I struggle to travel light so I try to invest in mini or tester sizes of my go-to skin care products to bring with me on my travels. I also ensure that I pack a few hydrating sheet masks for use after long flights, which help to reverse any signs of jet lag and keep my skin hydrated and soft after travelling.

PARTY SEASON SKIN CARE TIPS let it glow

It is starting to feel like Christmas. The holiday season is in full swing, champagne is flowing and social events are on the horizon. This time of year can be stressful, with late nights and more unhealthy lifestyle choices, and can result in your skin feeling dull and lacklustre. Preparing your skin in the lead-up to the holidays will ensure your festive glow lasts well beyond the party season and will keep you feeling confident and radiant.

In our clinics, we often see clients who suffer from breakouts, lacklustre skin tone and dullness as well as discolouration and pigmentation during the party season. Leaving your skin woes to the last minute can cause even more stress and in turn make the skin look even worse.

Eight weeks out from a big event or the festive season is the perfect time to invest in a more intensive treatment that will deliver dramatic results and target a multitude of skin sins.

For the big wow and flawless filter effect on the skin the combination of Halo Laser resurfacing and BBL (broad band light) work on all aspects of the skin to improve deep lines and wrinkles, lift and brighten pigmentation, uneven skin tone, redness and pesky blood vessels, reduce pore size and encourage elasticity and firmness of the skin. You not only get an immediate result but these treatments are the gifts that keep on giving with collagen and elastin renewal continuing for up six months post-one treatment.

The expected downtime of this combination treatment is five to seven days of visible redness like sunburn, mild to moderate swelling, darkening and micro-crusting of pigmentation and rough sandpaper-like feel to the skin until the skin sheds the old layer and reveals a vibrant and glowing refreshed surface. Your skin is starting to feel fresh, major skin concerns have been addressed and you are well on your way to looking amazing for those big events. Now is the perfect time to look into cosmetic injectables.

Cosmetic injectables such as anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers and collagen stimulators can be used to give a natural and enhanced look, without looking fake or "done." They can be used to enhance your natural features, stimulate your skin’s natural collagen and deeply hydrate your skin. Kelly broke barriers in this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue being the first model to highlight her caesarean section scar, which has never happened in the magazine’s 58-year history. Along with being one of this year’s most talked about swimsuit models, Kelly is also a single mother to her 3-year-old son as well as the founder and designer of the jewellery brand, HÜES.

Kelly Hughes started modelling over 20 years ago with Next Models, who she still calls her mother agency. When she started her career there was something about the energy and adrenaline on set that made her embrace this industry and never look back. In 2009, with work slowing down due to many uncertainties in the economy, Hughes began workingpart-timeinarestaurantandnoticedher manager had a stack of bracelets on his wrist and thought to see if he wanted to add one more. She went home that night and, out of a determined spirit and a God-given talent, she made her first bracelet that would launch her jewellery line, HÜES. With word of mouth, she sold over 200 bracelets until her first store, Base (on Lincoln Road in Miami), saw someone wearing it and invited her for a meeting to sell in their store. This turned out to be the catalyst that launched her successful unisex jewellery line, which has been worn by names such as JBalvin, Ricky Martin, Chayenne, Zion y Lennox, Alicia Keys,Maxwell,YoungThugandmanymore.

In 2018, Kelly added becoming a mother to her already impressive resume, which she credits as her most rewarding accomplishment. When she found out she was pregnant, Kelly immediately started realizing her birthing plan. After weekly birthing classes and countless doctor visits, the most important day of her life had arrived, and she was ready to give birth. Kelly quickly realized that her birthing plans would have to shift as she had a lengthy labour. She and her doctor would ultimately agree that a c-section was the best choice for her, and 30 minutes later she met her beautiful, healthy boy for the first time. She would be sent home with a clean bill of health; however, unbeknownst to her, she had a serious infection and had to be rushed back to the hospital two days later. Kelly would have emergency surgery to reopen her c-section, which was successful but would leave her with two additional scars. Even though Kelly’s birth experience was far from what she expected, knowing her son was healthy was all that mattered to her, and she is thankful that her c-sectionwasable tokeepherbabyboyhealthyand allow him to be deliveredsuccessfully.

Now, the model is continuing to embrace the outpowering love she’s received from the mama community to showcase others and lift them. She has partnered with ESTAS Beauty to start the #ScarLoveChallenge on social media to spread a feeling of empowerment and change the societal stigma around scars. The challenge encourages participants to reinterpret Kelly’s photo, showing off their scars using the # and challenging their friends to join the movement. Every time a #ScarLoveChallenge photo is posted, ESTAS will donate $1 to World of Children, helping disadvantaged children around the globe.

Swimsuit model to highlight your caesarean section scar. What made you passionate about changing the societal stigma around scars?

It was such an honour to represent such a meaningful moment in history. C-sections are very underrepresented in the market and, as one in three women are having one, there aren’t many outlets or information out there. Not only that but I had no idea the many stigmas that were going to follow as I planned for a hypnobirth and never researched csections. I think the lack of knowledge is where these stigmas come from and unfortunately create shame and insecurities, which is why sharing our stories is so important to normalize these changes our bodies go through. It’s not just with c-section scars, all scars tell a story, and in that story, there was a pain experienced, and a lot of times when that pain heals physically, we are left with mental scars that can take a lot longer to heal, and that’s ok.

You have recently partnered with ESTAS Beauty to start the #ScarLoveChallenge on social media. Tell us about what encouraged this partnership and why it’s important to you to spread a feeling of empowerment.

I was so moved by the 100’s of dm’s I received from women around the world after seeing my photos in Sports Illustrated. Many of them shared their stories with me and others told me how much they struggled and seeing this represented in fashion inspired and encouraged them. I knew right away I had a responsibility to do more, and I thought how much more empowering it would be to have a place to see 100’s or even 1000’s of photos of people embracing and loving on their scars. I loved ESTAS mission to love on our scars and not try to get rid of them, and I didn’t want to limit it to just c-section scars; all scars are welcome. I’m hoping this hashtag will create a community for people to go to be encouraged, and you can post your scars if you feel comfortable and ready to join in on the challenge, or no matter what place you are on your journey you can be inspired by others that have posted.

How do you handle the pressures that come with modelling?

I used to always struggle with this because I felt there was always something wrong with me and very little that I could do about it. For one client you might be too short and for another too tall and it took a long time for me to realize that I won’t be able to please everyone or get every job. I started to feel thankful for what I had instead of focusing on the things I didn’t. This really helped create a new mindset that ultimately led me to work more; however, the pressure never completely goes away because it’s a very competitive industry so there are a lot of expectations.

Describe your perfect day off when you are not working.

I enjoy completely disconnecting from the busyness of life and doing activities with my son. Some of my favourite things we love to do are visiting a farm, water park, the beach, horseback riding and going to the park.

As a single mother to your three-year-old son, how do youo being an entrepreneur?

This is always a challenge. My son is in preschool from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM during the weekdays so this is when I get the bulk of my work done. I then typically work at night after he goes to sleep because that is the quietest time of the day. Being a single mom definitely has its moments where you feel like it’s all falling apart and then other days where you feel like superwoman and you have it all under control. I think it’s all about time management and priorities, which is something I’m still working on, and I don’t know if it can ever be perfected, but you give yourself grace and do your best. We all have busy lives these days so it’s just important to be diligent in what you do with your time and having a schedule definitely helps and leaves you a lot of wiggle room because things always change.

Tell us about some standout moments in your career so far.

The most standout moment so far is this year being in Sports Illustrated because it wasn’t just about the photos, it made a statement and meant so much to so many people around the world. However, there were moments along the way that I had the pleasure to experience like travelling to places I would have never gone to and meeting people, and that to me is truly special.

Has your perception of the modelling industry changed over time?

Yes, it definitely has. The industry has come a long way, especially with inclusivity. When I started modelling there was a very narrow idea of what beauty was and there was one size and you had to be above 5'9", which made it very hard for me to break into the industry. On the other side, I do feel that due to social media being such a big part of the industry today it has really shifted the way things are done and has added a ton of pressure, which can be very unhealthy because your work depends on it. I have mixed emotions at times, and I always say you need a very thick skin for this industry because it’s not as glamorous or easy as it looks.

Tell us about your jewellery brand, HÜES! What inspired you to create the brand and how has it grown since your launch?

It was truly a blessing because I didn’t plan to have a jewellery brand, but I was always inspired to create. It was a godgiven talent I didn’t know I had. In 2009 I started a part-time job at a restaurant because there was a pullback in the economy, and I wanted supplemental income. My manager was from Greece and had a full stack of bracelets on from there which inspired me, and I offered to make him one more to add to the stack. Once I made my first bracelet the response was overwhelming. I sold over 200 bracelets by word of mouth before I got my first retail store BASE in Miami, FL. Since then, HÜES has grown to be located in some of the top hotels and boutiques in the world such as The Edition, One Hotel and Patron of the New and has been worn by many celebrities. Since then we have recently updated our website to offer styles made for you so you can create your own and added on a plating program to be more conscious and offer sustainability in the line, so you can keep your jewellery forever. You started modelling over 20 years ago. What advice would you give to aspiring models?

Never let anyone discourage you or destroy your dreams. Take every no and turn it into a no right now and use it for your motivation. I have heard so many no’s along the way, and I still do today; however, it’s how you respond to them that makes the difference.

Travelling with a toddler, there’s a long list of essentials; however, for myself, I have an incredible traveller bag from BEIS that I take on the plane with me, always filled with snacks, and my collagen from Isagenix to keep my skin glowing. I always make sure to bring my travel chargers because it never fails that my phone dies.

Your packing advice?

Try to plan out your outfits so you don’t overpack. I ALWAYS overpack!! So, I plan out my outfits and roll my clothing to make space and limit how many pairs of shoes I bring because I have a two-luggage limit no matter how long I’m travelling for, and that’s with my son’s clothing, otherwise I can’t push it by myself. Remember most places you can always buy things if you forget something you don’t have to bring it all.

The one beauty product you can’t live without?

I can’t live without my collagen from Isagenix; it really is like liquid gold and has transformed my skin, but even better because it’s liquid collagen it’s for nails, hair and bone health as well.

What beauty trend will you be rocking this season?

I’m loving metallic lids for eyeshadow looks. Champagne gold is such a beautiful, effortless look and looks good on everyone.

I am really bad about working out on vacation. I’m normally with my son when travelling so all of my free time I’m with him, and I just try to enjoy the time since we don’t vacation often. However, I try not to splurge as much as I would do at home to balance it out.

What swimwear trend is a must this season? Cutouts. Everyone is loving them!

You have recently launched a sensitive skin body care line called Lagoon. Tell us what inspired the product line.

My struggles finding products safe for sensitive skin inspired my brand Lagoon.

You have 3.7 million followers on TikTok! Tell us how you got started.

I started by making videos for fun in my spare time! Which at the time, I did not have a lot of. I was in my senior year of high school, while also dancing 20+ hours a week, so during the two hours between dance and school, I would make dancing, acting and trendy videos on TikTok.

What inspires the content you share on your social media channels?

I get inspired by my own life, routines and experiences! I learned that a lot of my supporters relate to the things I go through. Whether it’s my struggles with my straight hair or how I maintain my long-distance relationship, I love to share it with them.

What advice do you have for budding social media

My advice is to post whatever is lingering in your head most of the time. If you’re going through a breakup and all you can think about is how you feel about it, post about it. If you’re comfortable, sharing something so relatable could help a lot of people, and you could also meet a lot of people you relate to!

Being of Jamaican and Trinidadian descent, how do you celebrate and stay connected to your heritage?

I celebrate and stay connected to my heritage by listening to Caribbean music when I am away from home. The biggest way I connect to my heritage is through my Caribbean family. My family has shown me everything I know about my heritage, especially when we visit their home countries as a family and they get to show me everything. Mostly, I feel connected to my heritage through the way I was raised.

How do you try and inspire your followers to embrace who they are inside and out?

I try my best to inspire my followers to embrace who they are by motivating them to be the best version of themselves just like they motivate me to be the best version of myself. I keep up with my passions, prioritize my friendships and relationships, and learn to love my natural hair, skin and body. I hope this inspires them to do the same and love and appreciate all the blessings in their life.

If there was one thing you could change about social media, what would it be?

I wish I could change when people share their negative opinions. It has been a large trend on TikTok where people get so comfortable sharing their negative opinions in the comment sections. I love getting feedback from people; however, saying negative things about the way someone looks or the decisions people make is not friendly and never has a positive effect on those people. If you wouldn’t say something to a stranger’s face, do not comment on it under their videos.

The most difficult part of creating content as a creator specifically is making sure you do not get caught up in content. It is so easy for your focus to become your online life that it becomes difficult to be in the moment at times.

The entertainment industry is said to be full of stress and pressure; what do you do to tackle the pressure that comes with your work?

I tackle the pressure by trying my best to separate my work from my personal life. It’s hard to give yourself a break when it comes to entertainment due to the fear of losing “relevance.”However, much like every other career, you need a break sometimes.

You have many philanthropic interests including Color of Change and National to End Homelessness. Tell us about why these organisations are important to you.

Both organisations have always been important to me. As a black woman, I will always want to see my people where they belong and appreciated. There are so many minorities that deal with discrimination to the point that they are led into being jobless or homeless. This is also one of the reasons I support the National to End Homelessness.

You are known for your roles in Girls’ Night with Madi Monroe (2021), playing a lead role in Brat’s popular series Attaway General as “Kit” (alongside Dixie D’Amelio, 2020) and Rooney’s Last Roll (2020). What is next for you?

I have been in acting classes and coaching for about a year now! I am excited to see what roles will be a fit for me in the near future!

What is your airport style?

My travel style is cozy and comfortable. Usually matching. How do you stay in shape on vacation?

I stay in shape on vacation usually by walking everywhere, so I can see all that the location has to offer. If walking is not an option, then I will do a 10– to to20-minute run on the treadmill in the mornings.

Where is next on your travel bucket list?

Next on my travel bucket list is anywhere with snow. I really want to visit Sweden!

I celebrate my roots by honouring them, by never hiding who I am and this aspect of myself, and when people ask me where I’m from I always mention my background. I believe all places and most cultures have their beauty, so I try to honour cultures beyond my own in my music that inspires me.

At a young age, you discovered your musical talents and dedicated yourself to learning the piano and taking vocal and acting classes. Tell us about that journey.

I loved making mini-shows for my family in all types of ways, and I loved looking at myself in a camera or mirror, haha. However, I was also a very stubborn kid who refused to practice when I needed to because in those years, I did everything out of passion, and it took that feeling away to be so consistent with it which, later bit me in the butt a little though. I believe it was just part of the journey I needed to take as well.

You recently joined the pop-rock band, Camila, on a twoyear tour where you shared your love of music and the stage with the US and Latin America. What was that experience like?

Yes, when I was 17 I was on tour with them for two years, which was such an incredible growing experience in so many ways because it was there that I truly became confident in myself and my performing abilities by growing into that with time. It was also the time in my life when I began to write so my songs that you guys have come to know now are creations of that version of myself, so it’s cool to see what I was capable of resonating with and how I resonate with it in new ways now.

AHow do you connect on social media and what message do you hope to give to your Latin fans?

I try to force myself to be on social media more because I feel like I’m a very present person; I forget my phone at times from just being connected to the here and now, so you guys can probably imagine how often socials cross my mind, but I do think it’s super important to allow people to get to know you a little more and to know that you’re there and around. I wish I knew how to show who I am a bit better on there, but this is why I make music! I hope to always give them a message of authenticity, to be who they are even if the world wouldn’t see it as completely put together, to honour their emotions even if they get overwhelming and to see themselves in others.

Besides music, you have a love for hiking and nature that has led you to support philanthropy efforts such as the World Wildlife Fund, 8 Billion Trees, and The Orangutan Project. How have you gotten involved with these organizations and why are they special to you?

The second I heard about them, I just knew I had to donate at least something every month. I try to do as much as I know I can do, in terms of what I can do better for the planet and its inhabitants. I’m vegan and hopefully will reach a zero-waste lifestyle eventually, but I’m working towards that. I compost, and outside of my actions, I feel that these three do three super important things for other beings. WWF protects endangered species as well as other things. 8 Billion Trees replant trees since 80% of the Amazon’s deforestation happens due to meat and 41% of global deforestation is also due to animal agriculture. The Orangutan Project helps rehabilitate orangutans whose habitats get destroyed due to the above, as well as palm oil, which is in so many things if you check the ingredients. My philosophy is always that my pleasure of 15 minutes is not worth their entire existence.

You recently released your third single “Around the World”! What is next for you?

My EP will be coming out in early 2023! I’m super excited about that because it has one of my favourite songs of my own on there, as well as one more surprise one, so I’m mainly preparing for that.

The extra large rooms are sumptuously styled with art, design classics and everything from a 23-carat gold leafed headboard in one to a freestanding silver roll top bath in another. The small rooms are cosy and in the original house, opening onto the main courtyard or above the spa. All have a tadelakt tub with an overhead shower (some with an open bathroom) and classic El Fenn style--think mid-century meets traditional Morocco.

The hotel is one of the few hotels in the medina with a swimming pool– even better, they’ve got three. Guests can soak up the sunshine beside their roof top pool, which is set against the stunning backdrop of the Koutoubia mosque and rooftops of Marrakech, take a dip in the plunge pool or head downstairs to their lap and spa pools, which are lined with carrara marble.

There is more than 300 days of sunshine on average in Marrakech, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy the pools and terraces. Guests can have a cocktail or bar snack as they lounge on day beds beside the 13-metre rooftop pool and soak in sunshine–as well as the stunning backdrop of the Atlas Mountains. For little ones, there’s also a 70centimetre deep plunge pool for them to enjoy. On the ground floor, our 12-metre lap pool is surrounded by jungle-like foliage and a pétanque lawn. There’s also an 8metre spa pool, which is heated all year round.

Traditional beauty rituals are given a luxurious twist in the El Fenn spa. Relax in their hammam–or hot room–before having a body scrub, or head to one of their candlelit treatment rooms for a facial or massage. Their spa products contain natural ingredients ranging from the essences of rose, amber, jasmine and verveine to ghassoul clay and Argan oil–the super oil produced in Morocco.

DINE

El Fenn is a relaxed kind of place, and so is the food. The emphasis is on local, seasonal plant-based food–with meat and fish available too. Each dish is made with freshly harvested fruits and vegetables from local farms and markets and combined with bright herbs, exotic spices and fragrant aromatics. It’s fresh, flavourful and packed full of goodness.

The roof terrace is El Fenn’s most popular spot. It’s 1,300 square metres, has a closeup view of the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, as well as the rooftops of Marrakech, and there’s a mass of daybeds and lounging areas to enjoy it all from. There’s also a 30foot marble bar and a team of mixologists on hand from midday until late if guests are in the mood for a drink.

Malea was born and raised on the North Shore of Kaui, where she hosted a local radio show, acted in community theatre and was a competitive surfer. She moved to California to continue

You were born on Kauai; what do you love most about Hawaii?

Humble, beautiful, grounded beginnings. Now I go home, and I see even more beauty…but more importantly it’s home. It’s everything that shaped me into the woman I am today. It’s my parallel in life and what roots me. I love being makeupless, wearing casual cut-offs and an old rocker T, my hair wild with humidity, eating a poke bowl or some sort of delicious something and watching the sunset at my favourite beach spot. It’s pure magic and chicken soup for the soul. Throw in a surf session…perfection.

When did you realize that you had a talent for acting and performing?

Am I? I certainly love it and if that shows in the work then I’m really lucky. I’ve always had terrible stage fright, so my theatre background was a torturous, yet wonderful adventure. I love everything about the creative process and performing, the business side needs a lot of work still in my humble opinion. I did musical theatre at a young age, watched Broadway and was mesmerized.

As a CEO and actor, how do

you tackle

the pressure that comes with your work?

I won’t lie, I haven’t found the solution yet. If you’ve cracked the code, please let me know! I try to give myself structure, so I don’t become too overwhelmed by everything I need to do as a whole. Sometimes flipping from the right side of my brain to the left side all day is mentally tiresome. But how lucky to have two things I love so much to stress about and constantly feel inadequate about and that I’m not doing enough! I def have had to teach myself to walk away and get some fresh air. I can be very tunnel-visioned, and fresh eyes and doing things like taking my dog for a hike helps. Pressure is self-made, so it’s me that I need to tackle.

You are associated with Metta World Peace’s Basketball League and passionate about equal pay and respect

of female athletes; why is this cause important to you?

First off, he’s the ultimate man of reinvention. He does the work in his own field every step of the way and that inspires me. His league inspires me. He is so philanthropical about everything that he does. We just totally align in so many ways but work to close the massive gender gap in pay, whether in women’s sports, Hollywood or any profession. We want to raise awareness and empower women for equal pay. For god sake, its 2022 and the ERA still isn’t a part of the constitution! I love that female athletes are strong and beautiful and represent exactly what cosmetics and beauty should be about. I want to fight the stigmas of a lot of women-related issues that are out there in the world. There have been times when I have been asked to work for free because I would be “lucky enough to be considered for a job in Hollywood ”A director/producer from a very wealthy family, when I was working 17-hour days way beyond my scope of work, told me he would help get me a bonus for all my extra work but was going to split it with me. It’s sometimes hard as a woman to learn how to speak up; we fear something will be taken away. I don’t want that. I don’t want it anywhere near me.

Who has been your inspiration and People that don’t take the word no in business. The problem solvers of the world. The forward thinkers. I’m fascinated by athletes for their discipline. I’ve been fortunate to be around some great minds like the late Paul Allen and real Globetrotters. They always say to “be worried if you’re the smartest person in the room.” But I find inspiration everywhere. With a background in the arts, it gives you a special talent for seeing more than meets the eye. I would love to create something iconic or a hub for many other brands like Estée Lauder or Coco Chanel… I also am obsessed with Lucille Ball because she was the first woman in this male dominant town who owned her own production company as well as her own content. A true Hollywood pioneer and comedic genius.

Has the journey been fairly easy, and if not, what obstacles have you had to overcome?

NOTHING about any of this is easy. You’re starting something from scratch. The learning aspect (for me) on how to build a company, handle the creative and be biz savvy are all so many moving objects it makes my head want to explode. The biggest obstacle for me currently is wanting to spread the goodness CBD has brought to my skin and how much it’s changed my life, yet the US government has Cannabis classified as a class 1 drug right along with Heroin. It’s crazy that I can’t play by any of the same advertising rules as other companies because I’m considered “high risk ” There should be a class action against Meta. They are the largest most unregulated, unfair marketplace for businesses like mine and are where so many go to flourish.
