Day Camp Who’s it for?

Camp is for any child that has finished kindergarten through 5th grade. Campers will be divided into age groups so they can enjoy all activities camp has to offer.

When is camp?

Camp runs Monday through Friday and starts May 22 and ends August 19. Kids can come for the day, the week, or all summer long. Campers can be dropped off at the Y as early as 7:00am and be picked up as late as 6:00pm. Even though camp staff are onsite from 7:00am-6:00pm, camp activities initiate at 9:00am and conclude at 4:45pm. A $5 late fee will be charged for every 15 minute time slot past 6:00pm.

What do campers do all day?

Daily activities include walking to various parks for lunch, arts & crafts, science, group activities, games, gardening, cooking class, and sports. Campers can swim at the YMCA and will also swim at the Albert Lea Aquatic Center on Tuesdays (starting June 4th). Campers will be going on other field trips as well.

Where do they go & how do they get there?

Parents are responsible to drop off and pick up their child/children at the Y every day. For field trips, a bus is provided for transportation. If your camper misses the bus, we cannot transport your child. You must find transportation for them. There may be a small cover charge for field trips, cost pending. Along with a weekly newsletter indicating the times of field trip departures and returns, you will receive updates and friendly parent reminders. All information will also be located on the communication table. *Remember to check your child’s folder every day.
