Payment Options and Special Rates

Money is pulled from your checking account or credit card at 12:01 a.m. on the 10th of the month.

Annual Corporate Rates

Credit card bank draft members: If you have moved or your credit card has been compromised, let the business office know so that your card is not declined on the 10th of the month and to avoid service fees.

Payments can be set up by monthly bank draft, payroll deduction, or annual payment. There is a discount for employees of corporate groups. Check at the desk for information on starting a corporate group. No start up fee for corporate memberships.

Scholarships

The Family Y will not turn anyone away for inability to pay for a program. Sliding fee available. Fifth and Seventh graders living in Freeborn County receive free memberships. This is sponsored locally. Stop in to fill out a membership card!

For your convenience, a limited number of tall and kit lockers are available to rent on an annual basis. No more lugging your shoes, racquet, toiletries and towels.

Refund Policy

The Albert Lea Family Y reserves the right to cancel programs due to low enrollment. Full refunds are given when this occurs. Persons withdrawing registrations must give 72 hours notice before the program starts to receive a full refund. No refunds are made after the 72-hours prior to the start of an activity unless due to medical or unavoidable circumstances.

Adult Sports/Senior Fitness Pick-Up Soccer for All Ages

Open soccer for all ages will be Wednesday nights from 6:309:15pm beginning in November. Members: $0 Non-Members: $3

Racquetball/Wallyball Courts

Courts can be reserved up to 24 hours in advance. Nonmembers must pay the daily admission fee to play.

Fountain Lake 5

(In conjunction with Southwest Tiger Trot) The Fountain Lake 5 is a five mile run, jog, or walk around Fountain Lake and takes place on April 14, 2018. Entry includes a dry-fit t-shirt & post-race refreshments. Awards are given to the top male and female and to the1st-3rd place finishers in each age group.

Adult Pick-Up Pickleball

Pickleball equipment is available at the front desk for checkout. Two courts are also marked in the gym. Pick up games take place at various times. Common times of play are Mondays and Thursdays at 12:00. Members: $0 Non-Members:$3

Adult Racquetball League

Sign up for the A, B, or C League. Registration opens in November. League play will begin December 1. The length of league play depends on the number of entrants (typically 1215 weeks). Players’ scores throughout the season will be used to determine end-of-season tournament play. Member: $8 Non-Member: $25

SilverSneakers® Fitness Program

SilverSneakers is the nation’s leading older adult fitness program aiming to improve strength, endurance, flexibility, agility, and coordination. SilverSneakers memberships to the Family Y are provided with Humana and Ucare. Contact your insurance provider to see if you are eligible for a Y membership. For more information, contact the front desk. SilverSneakers classes are also offered. Classes are free for members. Drop in $10

Silver & Fit Fitness Program

The YMCA is a full participating Silver & Fit fitness center. This means that we partner with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Platinum Blue, and Medica insurance plans. Youth Sports Volleyball - Tuesdays - March 13 - April 17

Youth volleyball is for girls and boys in grades K-5. Skills and drills are held on Tuesdays. Please note that times are subject to change due to enrollment numbers. Youth & Family Playroom Service

The Y’s School’s Out Program Looking for a safe, fun place for your children to go after school? Why not try the Y’s School’s Out program? This program is for children grades K-5 and is run by the Y in cooperation with District 241. The program starts when school is over and ends at 6:00pm. Kids will be bussed to the Y from their school. Activities include games, group activities, snack time, crafts, study time, cooking class, science experiments, and occasional field trips. The program will run every day school is in session!

The playroom child care service is for children ages 6 weeks to 8 years while their parents are at the Y. Monday—Friday: 8:30am-11:00am Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 5:00pm-7:30pm Tuesday & Thursday: 4:15pm-7:00pm Saturday: 8:45am-12:00pm Payment for playroom services is by playroom cards only. Cards can be purchased at the front desk and come in increments of $12 or $24.

Home School Gym & Swim (Family)

The YMCA emphasizes development of spirit, mind and body in each program that is offered. This program allows home schooled children & their families the opportunity to use the pool and gym. $3 per person per day. Tuesday & Thursday: Pool:10am-11:30am 1/2 Gym: 10am-11:45am

Rental of the Y

Kids Day Off

Throughout the school year there are several days with no school for the kids. On those week days, the place for K-5 elementary school youth is at the Y! We offer games, crafts, group activities, swimming and lots of fun. Children can arrive as early as 7:00am and must be picked up by 6:00pm. The Y staff will lead & participate in all activities. Parents need to bring a sack lunch, two snacks, water bottle, swim suit and towel for their children.

The Y is available for overnight lock-ins and other events. Call Lori Austin for more details.

Birthday Parties

Fridays after 6:30pm, Saturday & Sunday Have your child’s next birthday party at the Y! Our birthday parties are an hour and half long with your choice of the gym or swimming. You will also have access to our party room to finish up the party.

Summer Camp 2018

It’s never too early to think about what the kids are going to do this summer! The Y’s Summer Day Camp program is for children who just finished Kindergarten through 5th grade. Camp begins Monday, May 21. Call the Y for more details

The 3:30 Fit Club is for 6th grade students that want to have fun and be active after school. Participating in this program will help students burn off extra energy, experience different avenues of fitness, and learn about living a healthy lifestyle. Orientations are for 12, 13, and 14 year olds who would like access to the SMB and free weight rooms. Staff will provide the knowledge needed to use the facility independently and responsibly. The orientation will highlight the correct use of equipment, proper lifting techniques, strength training principles, safety rules, and proper etiquette. A personalized fitness plan will be given to the student upon completion of the orientation. Pre-registration is required. Payment in full is due at registration.

Group Fitness Aerobic Dance

Moderate to high intensity cardio using/learning high intensity moves mixed with core exercises to burn fat & strengthen core and lower body. Learn to dance and get a workout in!

Athletic Kills and Drills

This early morning class combines functional strength training exercises with athletic style endurance drills. This tough, yet fun, class meets in the gym and will push you to new limits.

Barre Blend

Barre Blend brings exercises from group fitness into the mind/body experience by fusing exercises from ballet, cardio training, Pilates, and yoga into one class to challenge and tone the entire body. This blended genre combines the methodology of strength and control to create a class that improves body awareness, flexibility and stabilization.

Boot Camp Advanced

Exercise the way your body was designed to move (as one unit) and become more athletic, regardless of where you begin. Enjoy a variety of exciting methods (i.e.: pilates, brake dancing, quadruped, and Olympic movements). Boot Camp Advanced is for the Intermediate/ Advanced Exerciser.

Senior YogaFit®

These series of poses and methods will allow seniors to increase muscular strength, endurance, flexibility, and stamina. The class also promotes a deeper mind/body connection that will help mental acuity and stress reduction. Drop in $10.

Silver & Fit

The class is designed to increase the participant’s flexibility, joint stability, dynamic balance, coordination, agility, reaction-time, muscular strength, power and cardiovascular endurance. Drop in $10.

SilverSneakers Classic

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and ease of daily living. Dumbbells, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support. Drop in $10.

Total Core

Improve full body stability and work on the look and strength of your abdominals with full body exercises that will truly challenge your core.

Vinyasa 1

Cardio Burn With Weights

An all levels “Cardio” yoga that focuses on breath with movement. Strength and flexibility, focus, and deep stretching for the health body, mind and spirit.

ZUMBA

Each circuit consists of 45 seconds of work, followed by 9 seconds of rest; repeated 3 times. Medium to low impact. Cardio Strength Interval: Alternate segments of cardio and strength training exercises and you got one great workout! Get in as many reps as you can (or care to) in each time segment and modify each exercise to your liking; this is why all levels are welcome! No dancelike choreography, just exercise.

Gentle Yoga

Enjoy this all-level cardio flow-style class. Sun salutations form the foundation, core, strengthening, and energy of the class. Class includes balance poses to center the mind and improve focus; bends that relieve stress, depression and soothe back pain; twists to realign the spine and stimulate the internal organs: and stressreducing meditation. No yoga experience necessary. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat. All standing poses are done with bare feet for your safety.

HIIT Bootcamp

Take your workout to the next level with High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). This class will build muscular strength and improve cardiovascular fitness through various exercises performed at specific intervals. You’ll never get bored with a mash-up of calisthenics, free weights, plyometrics, and an assortment of equipment for a variety of exercises in each session.

Lean Body Training

Non-stop, total body strength training with some HIIT cardio intervals thrown into the mix. This class will help you get that strong, lean, healthier, and more powerful body you’re working for.

Lower Body Tone

Non-stop strength and toning exercise to lean out your entire lower body.

No Limits Cardio

This class combines kickboxing, step, high intensity intervals & traditional high impact for a total cardio blast. Some choreography included.

This is a high energy cardio class that utilizes Latin music and dance to energize and strengthen your entire body.

Deep Water Workout

Because this class is done in the deep water, zero impact is experienced by the joints. Intermediate and advanced levels. No swimming experience is needed, a float belt may be worn.

Joints in Motion 2

This class is the advanced more intense version of the Joints in Motion class. Class includes range of movement exercises, low and high impact movements, intensity intervals, and strength training. Keep your body moving and healthy!

Rusty Hinges

This water exercise class is for any age male or female that experiences mobility issues such as arthritis, MS, or injuries. The low impact movements and range of motion exercises will keep your body healthy and your joints moving.

Swimnastics

Enjoy a refreshing workout as you tone and strengthen muscles and increase flexibility. This shallow water class enables you to exercise with less strain and impact on joints.

Indoor Cycling

Your instructor will simulate a group ride as you travel on flat roads, climb hills, chase the pack, or race to the finish line! All levels welcome.

Cycle, Core, and More

This class alternates bouts of cycling and bouts of strength training off the bike. A great combination of strength and cardio that will leave you asking for more!

Pilates

Improve full body stability and work on the look and strength of your abdominals with full body exercises that will truly challenge your core.

Orientations and Consultations

Whether you’re new to working out, new to our facility or a long time fitness pro, a Y staff member can walk you through the proper way to use the equipment in our SMB room (where all the cardio and weight machines are located). Not only do we talk about equipment, we can educate you on the standard exercise recommendations and help you get started with a routine. To schedule an orientation contact the front desk! Orientations/consultations are free to members!

Fitness Assessments

Aquatics Stage A (1&2 yr olds) Stage B (3&4 yr olds)

Parents/guardians are in the water with the child. This is an instructor led class intended to help young children become comfortable and safe in and around water. Techniques will be taught to help orient their children to the water and to supervise water activities in a safe manner. These classes involve both parent and child in the water. Parent and child will focus on floating and basic skills. Members: $31 Non-Members: $46

YMCA Swim Lessons

The Albert Lea Family Y’s curriculum offers different skill levels that emphasizes stroke mechanics, water games, personal safety, rescue skills and stamina. Please see the Y swim lessons flyer to see how the Y levels compare to Red Cross levels and to find out which level best suits your swimmer. Levels with fewer than two swimmers may be cancelled or combined with a group one level above or below.

Red Cross Lifeguarding

For ages 15 and older. Red Cross Lifeguarding is a national certificate that is recognized by many organizations. Those who successfully complete this course will receive certification in life guarding, first aid and CPR/AED for the professional rescuer. Prerequisites include a minimum age of 15 and strong swimming ability. For more information, contact David Cheeks.

Pool Classification

Lap Swim: Open to all ages for the purpose of swimming laps. Open/Lap: Two Lane max. will be set up for lap swimming. Open Swim: All ages open to free swim. Children under age 8 must have a responsible person in pool with them. No lap lanes will be in pool for open swim. Pool closed on dates when there is a swim meet.
