Day Camp Who’s it for?

Camp is for any child that has finished kindergarten through 5th grade. Campers will be divided into age groups so they can enjoy age appropriate activities.

When is camp?

Camp runs Monday through Friday and starts May 24 and ends Aug 18. Kids can come for the day, the week, or all summer long. Campers can be dropped off at the Y as early as 7:00am and be picked up as late as 6:00pm. Even though camp staff are onsite from 7:00am-6:00pm, camp activities initiate at 9:00am and conclude at 4:30pm. A $5 late fee will be charged for every 15 minute time slot past 6:00pm.

What do campers do all day?

Daily activities include playing sports and games, swimming, gardening, doing crafts and going on trips to local parks and attractions. Campers swim everyday at the Y, and occasionally swim at other outdoor pools. Campers also go on out-of-town field trips once a week throughout the summer. See the field trips list.

Where do they go & how do they get there?

Parents are responsible to drop off and pick up campers at the Y every day. For field trips, a bus is provided for transportation and special events costs are included in camp fees. A newsletter is provided each week indicating the times of field trip departures and returns. If your camper misses the bus, we cannot transport your child. You must find transportation for them.

Camp Swim Lessons

Children enrolled in our day camp program have the opportunity to sign up for swim lessons. Lessons are held for 30 minutes, 2 days a week, for 2 weeks at a time. Numerous 2-week sessions will take place throughout the summer.

ALBERT LEA FAMILY Y 2021 West Main Street Albert Lea, MN 56007 507-373-8228 www.ymcaal.org

Sustaining Campaign Our annual Sustaining Campaign and our local United Way enables us to say YES when disadvantaged persons request assistance for programs and memberships. Help us help our community and reach our goal of $125,000 in 2017. The Y uses your gift to make a meaningful, enduring impact right in your own neighborhood. There are several options to give: cash or check, monthly bank draft, or online payment on our website, www.ymcaal.org. Ask the front desk if you have questions about giving!
