EDITORIAL God renews the whole nature of a person into the image of God, it is an act that takes place in the heart and mind; a spiritual process belonging to Holy Spirit.

Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2). To conform is to act in accordance with rules and customs. We cannot act in accordance with rules and customs of this world that conflict with the Word of God. To transforms means to change the condition, the nature or the function; to change the personality or character. When you are made new in Christ; your personality and your character is transformed. The Bible says Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here (2nd Cori. 5:17).

SHERIN JOHNSON Chief Editor

The butterfly is a very good example of transformation. It develops from the larvae stages to become the butterfly. A tiny, tender, shapeless worm going through the process of transformation and emerging as a beautiful butterfly. Similarly, God wants to transform our lives through the process of sanctification. However when God renews, He transform the whole nature of a person into the image of God, it is an act that takes place in the heart and mind; a spiritual process by the Holy Spirit. The Bible says “He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit” (Titus 3:5). The Bible says “...When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit (Eph 1:13). Therefore, let us be transformed by the renewing of our minds through the Holy Spirit, who is the perfecter of our salvation by whom we are sealed for eternity.

Anointing of the Holy Spirit Evg. S. Dilip Thyagaraj Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you (John 14: 17).

children of God, the Lord wants us to walk in the anointing and enjoy all its benefits so that we can live in the real purposes that God had intended us to be. In 2009 when I was going through a slew of spiritual and physical attacks, the Holy Spirit inspired me to pray for the anointing. I wondered and asked God, 'Why Lord?' Then He told me a fact, that “it is the anointing that is going to protect a person from all evils and every attack of the enemy.” Further, the Holy Spirit said to me that “you need to exceed the level of anointing to overcome your problems and attacks of the enemy. Hence, I enquired various means to grow in the anointing. The Lord taught me that the enemy-devil may not come to attack in the same manner or with similar tactics he antecedently used.

the point of death when the enemy attacked him. However, Elisha who received the double measure of anointing had no such time of depression or failure perhaps the double portion of anointing gave him precedence over others and enabled him to endure entire challenges.

As

Often, God may not describe about our problems. However, God prepares us to be strong enough to win every difficult circumstance and our spiritual problems. Moreover, we may not see what the enemy has planned against us with our physical eyes; however, the Lord who knows the plans of the enemy enables us to see such issues beforehand by the help of Holy Spirit and pray for us in advance. The key to unlock the mystery of the anointing lies in the principle of God's kingdom, wherein the Scripture teaches us that Salvation is free and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are free (Acts 2:38, 8:20, 10:45 KJV). On the other hand, after receiving the free gift of salvation, Apostle Paul urges us in Philippians 2:12 to “work out for your own salvation” so that we attain salvation for eternal redemption. Similarly, the anointing is from God; we need to walk in it. The Bible says, “Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit and He was led by the Holy Spirit” (Luke 4:1). Here Jesus, being full of

We should not keep ourselves satisfied in sticking to prior measures since it is the anointing that refreshes us to be alive in time of distress and disappointments. Hence, God insisted that I have more of His anointing to be strong and bold like Prophet Elisha so that I should not be discouraged like Prophet Elijah who was sad when his enemy spoke against him (1 Kings 19:14). It is interesting to note that even though Elijah carried a higher level of anointing, he was depressed to

the Holy Spirit, didn't sit quietly but rather he started walking as the spirit led him. Anointing comes to function; we need to both receive it and walk in it.

is right and wrong and enables us to walk in truth and righteousness. You can know the Holy Spirit better when you receive Him. Hence, Jesus has said in John 14:17 that “Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” When the Spirit of Christ dwells in us we can perceive His manifestations. Above all, He changes our character and guides us.

What is Anointing? The Hebrew word for anoint is 'Mashach' which means 'to smear with oil' (consecration). 'Mashach' also means to rub, to consecrate, or to spread a liquid. This act is called as anointing. However, The Hebrew word for Messiah is 'Mashiach' which means “The Anointed One.” The title “Christ” is derived from the Greek word “Khristós” meaning “The Anointed One” who is covered with oil. Those who are anointed by God are set apart by God for certain holy purposes.

We must know the fact that we are the temple of God and the Holy Spirit dwells in us (1 Corinthians 3:16). Knowing this fact will change the course of our life. The day when I knew this truth; the only prayer in my life was: 'Lord make me full of the anointing of the Holy Spirit.'

Aspects of Anointing The anointing qualifies the unqualified. The main intention of the sending of the Holy Spirit is to anoint the people of God and to enable them for particular ministries. Moreover, God consecrates us by his anointing and make us holy and blameless for His holy purposes since our God, whom we serve, is holy. By the blood of Jesus we are washed of our sins; simultaneously the Holy Spirit cleanses us. It is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to inspire us to know what

Many desire the fruits of the Holy Spirit, however, to become the receivers of the fruits it is necessary to relate to Him as a person. To be partakers of the divine manifestations of the Holy Spirit, it is necessary for us to learn to love, serve, adore, and respect Him.

The sad truth is that many have not accepted the ministry of the Holy Spirit; perhaps they knew not the scriptures well. The real joy in the ministry comes when we work in harmony with the Holy Spirit. Subsequently, neither demon nor any person or any kind of tough situation can stop us from what the Holy Spirit has started in our life.

It is vital for the church at this age to know the Spirit. We must learn to relate to Him. While associating with Him we must know the fact that He is as a person: having feelings like us, and by our deeds He shall not be grieved (Isa 63:10; Matt 12:31; Act 7:51; Eph 4:30; Heb 10:29). Moreover, he guides, loves, communicates, testifies and teaches us and when we are in need He prays for us (Neh. 9:20; John. 15:26; Act 13:2; Rom. 8:26, 27; 15:30; 1Cori. 12:11).

Some find it difficult to relate with the Spirit of God. However, if you ask to God the father, with faith, He will give Him for our help. We must always believe, in faith, that God will respond to our requests without delay. Jesus tells His disciples that “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” (Luke. 11:13). All you have to do to receive Him is to tell Him “Holy Spirit fill my life with your anointing and lead me.” Always enjoy His presence which is more real than our limited situations and problems. Enjoy His guidance's which are always right. Be full of His inspirations which always motivate us. Learn whatever He teaches you. Once you receive Him, you will have unlimited access to everything He has. For the Bible says, “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God” (1 Corinthians 2:12). May God bless you to walk with the Holy Spirit.

Many desire the fruits of the Holy Spirit, however, to become the receivers of the fruits it is necessary to relate to Him as a person. To be partakers of the divine manifestations of the Holy Spirit it is necessary for us to learn to love, serve, adore, and respect Him. He will mold us to have a constant relationship with Him so we need to patiently wait and yield to Him.

The Lord used the legal term “convict” in order to highlight the fact that man can only point out error in lives however it is the Holy Spirit who convicts sin in them. Hence, the Holy Spirit is the best ally of the church in its evangelism.

Jesus affirmed about the Holy Spirit in John 16:8 that “When He comes, He will convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment.” The Lord used the legal term “convict” in order to highlight the fact that man can only point out error in lives however it is the Holy Spirit that convicts sin in them. Hence, the Holy Spirit is the best ally of the church in its evangelism.

Holy Spirit in our daily life

Evg. Jacob Vilgi Oommen “…he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever the Spirit of truth.” (John 14:15-16)

uman beings need water to survive. I don't think anybody can live in this world without water as it comprises seventy percentage of our body volume. Even if you don't get food for a day, you still can survive with water. Being said that, being a child of God, you must need the fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is the spiritual water. No matter who you are or what you are, you cannot lead a true Christian life without the Holy Spirit. The more we depend on ourselves, the more we fail; the more we depend on the Holy Spirit the more you see the hands of God in your life. The Bible says “if you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the father, he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever the Spirit of truth.” (John 14:15-16)

in truth. One of the major disasters happening in the spiritual world is people who knew the truth, who served God truly are walking away from God. You cannot walk in truth just because you have the Holy Spirit rather you have to dwell in the power of the Holy Spirit. You cannot watch television without connecting to the electricity. Similarly, you cannot walk in truth frequently without the frequent connection with the Holy Spirit. If you are always plugged into the power the Holy Spirit, He will warn you when you lose your track. 2. Self-Control In this modern world, we all equally face the issuelack of self-control. Since we live in the flesh, it is natural that we have sinful thoughts and it is our constant effort to break all such thoughts and we need to have a self-control and God- the Holy Spirit has to be the master control of our life. Lack of self control makes a mess in your life. It is not about tempting situations; rather it is all about how you handle it. Holy Spirit plays a fundamental role in your selfcontrol. When Jesus lived in this world He had to go through many similar situations where his flesh tried to break his self-control but He was completely controlled by the power of the Holy Spirit. When you have the filling of the Holy Ghost, you can experience a drastic change in your physical body itself. Dear

Jesus is introducing Holy Spirit with His ultimate character which is the Spirit of Truth! When we study the Bible, we see numerous characteristics and uses of Holy Spirit in the life of a child of God. Here, I am trying to share three ways the Holy Spirit can help us in our daily life. Firstly, the Holy Spirit leads you in truth. Secondly, He does our self-control and thirdly He molds our life into Christ like Character. 1. Leads You in Truth Spirit of truth leads you through the true paths of life. He helps you to speak truth; He helps you lead others

friend, as you read this you might be facing the same issue. You may be trying hard every second to get rid of all the ongoing sins of your life. It is because you are trying to control yourself by depending on your own strength that you fail miserably. If you completely surrender yourself to the power of the Holy Spirit, if you give space for the Holy Spirit in your life, He will break that bondage over your life. Where you lose selfcontrol, there you give space for the desire of your flesh to rule you. Only Holy Spirit can help you sustain your self-control!

about men of God like Apostle Paul's life and the life of Moses-the way God used them or the way they led their life. However, we always forget the fact that all of them who were used powerfully by God paid a big price to maintain Christ like character. In our daily life, we should build a character which is pleasing to God. Love, forgiveness, compassion, respect and the list goes on. A person can have a Christ like character only with the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. No matter how beautifully you preach or how powerfully you lead worship, if you don't have a character which reflects the fruit of righteousness, God will avoid you. Let us build our life in truth, self control and Christ like character by the help of the Holy Spirit.

3. Christ like Character In this generation, we are so passionate to preach

Etymology

HOLY SPIRIT The Holy Spirit is the third person in the triune Godhead. The Greek word 'Pneuma' is used to represent “Spirit” (i.e. the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit). The equivalent word for Spirit in Hebrew is “Ruah.” The early Christian writers use Ruah to attach to God in an attempt to describe Him. God is 'Pneuma' the wind and He is invisible, irresistible, unpredictable and an uncontrollable power. The word Ruah, in Hebrew means “breath,” “wind” and “spirit.” Ruah comes from a root word that means “breathe out violently,” almost “snort.” The noun connotes an unusual force or energy as seen in the breath of life in man (Job 9:18, 12:10; Ps 104:29 etc) and in the mighty and terrifying power of wind (Ps 107:25; 148:8). The noun also denotes the dominating aspect of a person's disposition (Ex 6:9; Num 5:14, 14:24; cf Gen 26:35). The doctrine of the Holy Spirit is the fundamental doctrine of Christian Faith. A Christian is a person who must have a new life and be in constant fellowship with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Therefore, everyone who believes in the Holy Spirit has the privilege of all the blessings of God in his or her life as they closely associate with Him.

Alive In Christ Testimony of

C.P. KAVERI

M

y name is C.P. Kaveri. I was born and raised up in a Hindu family as a dearest daughter to my loving parents. I still cannot forget the day I got a great transformation. Life in Bangalore and the spiritual nourishment I received here are the reasons for that change. Before I came to Bangalore, my elder brother and parents were living in a small house in Babusabpalya, Bangalore. To my surprise when I came to Bangalore I learnt that my brother had become a believer of Lord Jesus Christ and he was attending a church for worship. I didn't like the way he chose to go to the church. I argued with him about his new faith in Jesus Christ. However, he told me to read the Bible at least once and asked me to join the Church to hear the Pastor's message. If God loves us somehow He will make us free by revealing himself to us. The Bible says: “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free” John 8:32. One fine Sunday I decided to go to the Church for the Sunday service. That was it! Since then, I have never missed attending Sunday services. I was keen on knowing more about Jesus and I was in a state where I didn't want to miss any prayer meetings or fasting prayers. Since I believed in the Lord, I have noticed many transformations in my character. Not only that, Lord Jesus has helped me to find a job with the Seventh Day School.

took me to a hospital. Doctors told me that this was rheumatoid arthritis and it requires me to take lifelong medicines for survival. The pricking words from my family literally broke my heart. I went into the presence of the Lord and wept. The Bible says, “Call upon me in the day of your trouble, I will deliver you and you shall glorify Me” (Psalm 50:15). God heard the cry of my heart and He miraculously delivered me from my sickness. Then in 2011, many marriage proposals started to come and my father told me that he would attend my marriage only if I get a bridegroom from among the Christian community who belonged to our own caste. I could only pray for that particular need. So I started to enter into a fasting prayer for the need. The Bible says; “Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident” (Psalm 27:3). After next two months of my prayer, just as my father desired, I was able to find a man who belonged to our caste. We exchanged our marriage vows to each other on May 02, 2012. The Bible says; “God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land (Psalm 68: 6). My husband Harish was also born into a Hindu family and was transformed by the blood of Jesus. Today we have a baby boy. We named him Samuel.

A few months later my parents went back to our native Two months after our marriage, I got infected with flu village. One blessed day in the month of February every evening. So we went to a hospital for a medical 2010, God had given me a guidance to take baptism. check-up. They diagnosed it as typhoid and gave me Independently, with the whole of my heart I have medication. But it did not get cured. So we decided to taken water baptism. However, right after my water go to another hospital for an advanced check-up. That baptism, I became affected by rheumatoid arthritis. did not help either. Slowly I was unable to walk and fell Both of my legs became swollen due to it, as well as my into a state where I could not even do my own personal elbows and knees affected with severe pain. I was not things. I developed pain in my arms and legs. Then I able; either to walk or to meet my personal needs. I saw boils started to appear in my body. Again, I did could not go to a doctor for I had no money. As a result, not have money to go to a doctor. But the Lord had my family members started to accuse me. They went provided us the needed amount through our Church to my school and borrowed my one month's salary and Pastor. Kingdom Perspectives | Nov - Dec 2019 11

After we went to the doctor, he could not identify the kind of sickness that I was affected with. He collected my blood samples and asked me to return the next day. But when I returned the next day, all the boils on my body had disappeared and I was affected with some other kind of disease. All these took the doctor by surprise and he was utterly helpless to correctly diagnose my true health condition. For the next eight months, I suffered. The doctor even called my husband and personally spoke to him about my sickness. However, he said, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you (Exodus 15: 26 ). Because we have trusted the Lord, He miraculously healed me in a manner that our doctor was surprised and that in the end the Lord has protected me from all evil. The same Lord Jesus Christ who bless me with all that i was in need of can listern to you as pray and bless you too. My Lord who healed me completely can be your healer if you can submit yourself to Him. May the good Lord bless you.

Supernatural Transformation by the Holy Spirit Evg. Blasson N. Mathew

“…He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment” (John 16:7, 8) esus is the one who introduced the Holy Spirit to His disciples. He once told His disciples that “… It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has comes, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment” (John 16:7, 8). The disciples of Jesus where upset about the departure of Jesus from them. They were in distress since they knew they were going to miss the affection and the miracles they enjoyed while He was with them. Jesus met all the needs of the disciples instantly and supernaturally when He was with them. There are hundreds of events in their minds that they cherished in life. For instance, the notable experience of eating the food made out of two fishes and five loaves. Further, paying the tax miraculously out of a fish. Hence, they never wanted Him to go away from them. However, Jesus tells them that until I depart the comforter will not come. Who is the Holy Spirit? He is one of the personalities in the Godhead with the similar character of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit can do the greater extent of the miracles that Jesus did. The Holy Spirit can love the way Jesus loved his disciples because He is the comforting spirit of God. Jesus says something good is yet to come when He departs from them. When Jesus says it is for your advantage that I am going, it means it is so important

for Jesus to be in the universe in His spiritual presence than in the physical.

J

Kingdom Perspectives | Nov - Dec 2019

Advantages of the Holy Spirit Similarly, Jesus said in another instance that “very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father” (John 14:12). It is a precondition for the disciples to be filled with the Holy Spirit to reach the world. God has called us in this generation to cooperate with the Holy Spirit and to lead a supernatural spiritual life. However, in order to open such a supernatural realm it is necessary for the Holy Spirit to descend on earth as a person and work with His disciples. The spirit of God has no limit; He will do greater miracles through His disciples than what Jesus did. Particularly, more extent of places than Jesus has reached in His physical body. Hence, Jesus was pretty sure that His disciples were never going to miss the miracles He did for them and the comforting love of God as the Spirit of Christ, who has the same compassion of Christ is going to take charge on earthly mission of the kingdom (Romans 8.9). Walk With the Holy Spirit We should cherish a desire to walk in the presence of the Holy Spirit since God the father is willing to give Holy Spirit to us who crave for Him. Once, Jesus said 14

“If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:13). When we ask God for physical help He has promised more of His Holy Spirit and sometimes we wonder why it is so. We read in Acts 1.4 Jesus is asking the disciples to wait until the Holy Spirit descends. God could have easily sent them with some financial resource or something else for their mission. However, we see God is sending them with the Spirit of God and the anointing which can open and operate any kind of resource in time of their need during their mission. Cherish a Vision We should be people of Godly visions before desiring for more of the anointing. Before baptizing the disciples with Holy Spirit, Jesus has given them the dream of travelling domestically and internationally to the end of the earth (Acts 1:8). Baptism of the Holy Spirit is intended to go out for missions. The fear and anxiety for tomorrow was taken away from them when the spirit of God literally filled them. They started their journey and never lacked anything in their lives. Rather, they met many people's needs. They became full of resources and a channel of blessings. Transformed Ministry We must allow the Holy Spirit to minister to the people we meet in our ministry. We cannot do anything by ourselves. The Bible says “not by might nor by power, but by my spirit” (Zech 4:6, 12:1; 12:10). We must go back to the curtain and let the Holy Spirit touch people since it is the Holy Spirit that convicts the sinner about his sin and heals the sick. He can transform a person altogether. If God has chosen someone they cannot run away from God. The Bible says “where shall I go from your presence” (Psalm 139:7; 142:3, 143:7). God has greater plans for this generation and He will for sure raise a generation full of power to testify for Him. In the book of Acts we see while Apostle Peter was preaching and the Holy Spirit ministered to the people whom he addressed and five thousand of them received transformation. We belong to a generation were guidance of the Holy Spirit enables us to be convicted of what to do and what not to do. The bible says, “I shall write my laws in their hearts” (Jere 31:33). One of the marvelous ministries of the Holy Spirit is that He reminds us about our sins. He will convict us about the right things when we are tempted. When we allow the Holy Spirit to minister to the people we can see His transformation for sure. Let me encourage you to live more intimately with God by taking away every gap between you and your God. We need to be closer to God to resist the devil (Acts 6:10). Since the “spirit is willing and the flesh

is weak' (Matt 26:41) let us have a life full of the spirit rather than merely living a nominal life in the flesh. We can be supernatural people for the Bible says, “The Spirit of God dwells in you” (Rom 8:9; 1 Cori 3:16). Let us commit ourselves to be “born of water and of the Spirit” (John 3:5) and consent ourselves to worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). May the Spirit of God lead us (Rom 8:14) and may we always permit the spirit of God to testify to our spirit that we are the children of God (Rom 8:15, 16).

There is an obligation to walk with the Holy Spirit. A church or a man or a woman of God who cherishs a godly vision will never fail. The way of transformed life and ministry is only possible through the work of the Holy Spirit in the church. For Jesus it was necessary to be in spiritual presence than in the physical to build his Church. Through his disciples the Holy Spirit is impacting world even today. What we must know this last hour is; how to walk with the spirit of God, who has no limits. We must be people of visions to do what really the Holy Spirit desires from us (Acts 1:8). Anointing is always given for a calling or to accomplish a task and to execute missions.

Supernatural transformation by the spirit of the Lord in lives is the need of the hour. Firstly we must desire for such a transformation and obey the spirit of God and let Him meet our spiritual needs in the spirit realm (Gala 5.18). Let us always keep a good attitude to cleanse ourselves by allowing the Spirit of God to do it (1 Cori 6:11). For instance the psalmist whilst praying for cleansing from a sinful life asked God, “create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a steadfast spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10, Psalm 51:12). Further, agree with the Spirit of God while He pray for us (1 Cori 14:14, Eph 6:18). Hence, the Spirit God works in us (James 4.5, 1 Peter 3:18 and enable us to bear much fruits (Gala 5:22) A supernaturally transformed person is not challenged by anything of the physical world as they holds the newness of life (Eph 4.23).

The disciples of Christ lacked nothing in their journey when Jesus sends them with the anointing. We need to reach a spiritual realm where there is no fear and anxiety for tomorrow's living. It is possible only when the Spirit of Christ fills us with His power and authority through His anointing. However, we should always keep a good attitude to cleanse ourselves by the Spirit of God. It is possible when we agree with the Spirit of God who always intercedes for us (1 Cori 14:14, Eph 6:18). Finally, such a supernaturally transformed person cannot be challenged by anything of the physical world as they hold the newness of life in them (Eph 4.23). May God fill you with His Spirit and let there be more fruits in you.

Let me conclude here. There are many advantages for the church in sending the Holy Spirit to the world.

THE BEATITUDES Joel P. Joseph Matthew 5:3-12 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Jesus starts this teaching with the beatitudes. Pronouncing blessings on people, however, this was not new in Jewish tradition. Jewish rabbis would pronounce blessings on their followers. Beatitudes like these are present in the Old Testament and are familiar to us. For instance, Psalm 1 opens saying, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.” Similar blessings are seen in other parts in the wisdom and poetical books like the Psalms and Proverbs. In these scripture portions, blessedness is pronounced as a state that was synonymous to people who were walking in the ways of God. What makes the beatitudes of Jesus stand out is that

it turns this worldview upside-down. Unlike the generally held public opinion and the kind of blessings pronounced by the revered teachers who came before him, Jesus pronounces blessings on the downtrodden and the insignificant. If we look closely at the context and the beatitudes of Jesus, it becomes clear that the beatitudes of Jesus included those who were excluded by the society – the poor, the mourning, the meek, the hungry and thirsty for righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers and the persecuted. Jesus pronounces these blessings and welcomes them into the Kingdom first. The beatitudes therefore welcome those who are ostracized or disliked by society and offer them the blessedness of the Kingdom of God! With these beatitudes, King Jesus sets the mandate of His Kingdom contrary to the standards of the kingdoms of this world.

JESUS CHRIST IS THE SAVIOR

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)
