Dirigir la mirada a les coses de sempre Arquitecta Sophia Gruzdys: Vostès agafen edificis existents, els alteren, però no perden la seva autenticitat. Arquitecte Toni Riba: En aquest moment existeix una projecció cap a la funcionalitat, la tecnologia i l’automatització. Però per altra banda torna aquesta mirada cap a les coses que sempre han estat amb nosaltres, que ens fan sentir bé. Saber trobar aquesta combinació, aquest equilibri, respòn al moment actual. Arquitecte Pere Buil: Ens interessa aquesta dualitat. La vida és diferent que anys enrere i per tant la tipologia de les vivendes i la distribució dels espais s’ha de repensar. Per altra banda, hi ha quelcom més emocional i tàctil del que s’ha de tenir cura.
Cambiar l’escala a un espai públic Arquitecta Sophia Gruzdys: El replantejament a l’espai úblic del Born va crear el repte de cambiar l’escala a nivell públic. Arquitecte Toni Riba “La plaça té una funció més de ciutat, de grans esdeveniments, de mostar l’edifici, el patrimoni del Born. En canvi, aquests carrers els vam pensar clarament per a veïns. Els vam emplenar d’arbres perquè hi hagués ombra, de bancs, d’espais de joc…”
Turning back to the always familiar things Architect Sophia Gruzdys: You take existing buildings, alter them, but do not lose their authenticity. Architect Toni Riba “At the moment there is a projection towards functionality, technology and automation. But on the other hand, the gaze turns to elements that have always been with us, that make us feel good. Knowing how to find this combination and balance responds to the current moment”. Architect Pere Buil: “We are interested in this duality between the fact that life is different from years ago and therefore the typology of the dwellings, the distribution of spaces has to be rethought. But on the other hand, there is something more emotional and tactile that must be cared for”.
Changing the scale on a public space Architect Sophia Gruzdys: The rethinking of the public space in Born posed the challenge of changing the scale at the public level. Architect Toni Riba “The square has another function within the city, events, showcasing the building and the heritage of Born. We clearly think of these streets for neighbours, we filled them with trees so that there would be shade, benches, play spaces ... “
