SNOW REMOVAL SAFETY REMINDERS

Clear snow and ice from sidewalks within 24 hours after the end of a storm. When clearing snow, shovel or blow towards grass, not into the street. Keep hydrants, mailboxes, intersections, and other right of ways free of snow. Keep drains and gutters free of snow to help prevent ice build up that could potentially create hazardous conditions on sidewalks and flooding of streets. Windsor property owners and/or occupants are responsible for keeping all sidewalks free of snow and ice. Sidewalks must be cleared within 24 hours of the accumulation of snow and ice. Residents and private contractors are not permitted to push snow/ice into or across the street from private lots, driveways, and sidewalks (Municipal Code 11-3-10). Snow from private property may NOT be placed in public streets, on or around fire hydrants, and storm drains.
