WINDSOR MATTERS FEBRUARY 2024

GET INVOLVED ON PROJECT CONNECT

Take the Downtown Parking Management Plan Survey The town is looking at several different approaches to address parking in the downtown area and is developing a parking management plan in collaboration with the Windsor Downtown Alliance (WDA) to continue enhancing Windsor’s downtown. Addressing parking concerns in a holistic and community-driven manner is vital for sustainable downtown growth. By leveraging accurate data, incorporating public input and fostering ongoing community engagement, Windsor aims to create a parking management plan that is reflective of the desires and priorities of

its residents, ensuring a more efficient and resident-centric approach to parking in the downtown area. The survey is aimed at how to expand upon the findings from the original downtown parking study, which began in 2020. The study identified the need for a well-planned and coordinated parking system to the long-term fiscal health of the town and ensure continued viability of Windsor's small-town character. The final Downtown Parking Plan was adopted by Windsor's town board in July 2022.

Residents and business owners are encouraged to visit Project Connect and take the survey at bit.ly/45HbiOA. Read about the Downtown Parking Study at bit.ly/3uzAxBY.

Start lowering your utility bill in the new year!

Sign up for a Free Water Efficiency Audit It’s no secret that free water efficiency audits are available to all residents and business owners within Windsor. That includes renters, industrial properties and institutions too! There are countless ways to start saving on utility bills that don’t just involve expensive repairs or replacements. Sometimes, it only takes an expert coming to the property to explain how to cut costs easily and effectively. There are two types of water audits offered by Windsor’s water efficiency specialist: indoor and outdoor. Indoor audits are offered year-round and Windsor staff will seek out leaks, high water use appliances and unintended uses for water. They’ll also provide new showerheads and faucet aerators if necessary and suggest rebates or upgrades. Outdoor audits are only offered from April through November and sign-ups available year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. During this type of audit, a series of tests is performed on the property’s automatic sprinkler system to assure it’s applying water correctly to each zone, measure how much water is being applied and offer a custom watering schedule based on the inspection results. Residents are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to guarantee their spot when outdoor audit season rolls around.

Start saving water and money today by signing up for an audit at windsorgov.com/WaterAudits.
