WINDSOR MATTERS

Windsor Volunteer Experience

April is Global Volunteer Month, and the Town of Windsor has a lot to celebrate! We are so grateful for everything that volunteers contribute to our community. From building trails to painting murals, researching artifacts, teaching kids to bike safely and more, volunteers play an important role in making Windsor a great place to live, work and play.

Volunteers contributed over 3,500 hours of time to the town last year - join the movement to make a difference in your community. Whether you want to volunteer in a garden, at a special event or as a crew leader, we would be happy to help you find your experience. To get started, fill out a volunteer application at windsorgov.com/ Volunteer.

Work Zones are Temporary. Actions Behind the Wheel can Last Forever.

Each year in the spring, National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) is held to bring national attention to motorist and worker safety and mobility issues in work zones. This year NWZAW is April 1519 and wants to remind residents of the deadly dangers of inattention while traveling through work zones.

What many fail to recognize is the vast majority of people killed in work zone crashes are motorists and their passengers. This week is to remind drivers to slow down and stay focused while approaching and passing through a roadway work zone. Not only is it dangerous for construction crews – it’s dangerous for passengers in passing vehicles, too.

Find out when construction is scheduled in Windsor by texting Roads to 970-251-7151.
