As for this newsletter, we are officially making the transition to monthly issues! It will take a lot of work, but I believe that we are more than capable of getting this done Be also on the lookout for a newly spruced up bulletin board by the scanners TBD :0 That's all I have to say for now, be sure to show up to the Club and Pub Fair and support us at our booth! We will have candy and some cool frames and posters in a first ever Locksmith and Visual Media collab B) Keep volunteering and attending fundraisers! And best of luck to everyone this school year, y'all got this \(^ ^)/

I do want to remind everyone that the quarantine stories is always open as there are always new quarantine stories to tell. Seeing everyone's faces at Induction made me quite sentimental of this past service year and our graduating seniors. Congratulations to everyone for finishing the school year! It’s been grueling but we made it.

Like the new purple color? I decided to change things up this time around :))

In addition, I must also address that these past two months have been marked by very impactful events. It is important that we do not remain ignorant. As Key Clubbers, we should utilize our platforms and lead this change. I encourage everyone to read the statements given by Key Club.

It's been wonderful seeing lots of familiar key club faces back at school and at the picnic, after ending off our service for August on such a strong note I'd like to thank Adeeb, Preena, and the rest of our Locksmith committee for helping me get our previous issue out as well!

As always d by us but the individua overlooke submittin of Hope, filling out forms for the Locksmith, and just engaging with us! Only with your engagement does the Locksmith continue to flourish. Despite being apart in quarantine, you’ve all managed to keep the Key Club spirit alive.

Lots of cool stuff have happened since August and September, from trekking for ice cream after BloomAgainBrklyn when the Baskin Robbins was "out of service", to leading the NDSS Buddy Walk and getting free cotton candy and popcorn.

Hi everyone!

EDITOR'S NOTE

Happy first month of school! I hope you are all doing lovely and not stressing out too much yet. While the programming office screwed me over, I actually really enjoy my schedule. For all you underclassmen reading this, I highly recommend taking Science and Society with Ms. Pluchino and Writing to Make a Change with Ms. Thoms! Right before we returned to school, I took a really fun trip up to Maine with my family, and let me tell you it was surreal. Acadia National Park has got to be my favorite camping spot ever and the lobster…I want to go back for real.

Before we say completely goodbye to summer, let me take a moment to let you all know how amazing Stuy Key Club did this August I had an amazing time at the Luna Park Fundraiser and am so jealous of all of you that can go on those upside down rides without feeling sick Fun fact, my friend and I were holding a spot on the line for the Slingshot because the people riding it went on a walk, and then we got kicked out of the line LMAO. Anyways, as a club, we volunteered at over 20 service events, raised over $1,500 events, and were the first club to reach 200 members on Stuy Activities! I cannot express how proud I am of all of us. This club would be nothing without all your hard work, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you <3

Anyways, have an amazing September Stuy Take care of yourselves and get volunteering!! If you see me in the halls (I have a pink cow print tote bag if you are having doubts) say Hi!!

Welcome back to school! It was so nice meeting so many of you in the hallways. Coming back to school has been quite hectic and I definitely wasn't expecting to be taking architecture on the tenth floor this year (Super fun class, totally recommend) I am also dying in Calculus everyday. Not built for math. Someone please tutor me.

Anyways, continue to attend all of our events, this is going to be the biggest school year yet. And to my fellow seniors: good luck on college apps!

Hey Key Clubbers!

I hope you've all been adjusting well to the beginning of the school year! Recently Stuyvesant has had our tote bag fundraiser, where participants were able to customize their tote bags with paint and brushes that we provided It was super fun and we definitely hope to plan more events like that in the future. If you happened to miss it we have another great fundraiser this Sunday (9/25) which is Governors Island with Brooklyn Tech There'll be food, games and it'll overall be a great time!

The Visual Media directors and I are really excited to introduce our official newly created Stuy Key Club website!! Wooo! The directors spent a lot of time helping me get the website up and running before the end of summer, so make sure to shower them with your love and appreciation! I couldn’t have done it without them. <3 On our website, you can browse around for a lovely description of Key Club, the Key Club mascots, the Board of Directors, our publications, and various other resources!

We called up many local restaurants throughout Brooklyn and asked them to sell samples of their food at an event called Tastes of Williamsburg to raise money for a cause fighting food deserts. It was a great chance for all of us to test our communication skills, and for me to use my Spanish skills (not to flex). Some of us did practice skits to prepare beforehand, and one person was responsible for sending emails out. Rejection happened often, and follow ups weren’t always responded to. However, we were all persistent and managed to get a few partners along the way.

We served many minority kids in the area by giving them back packs filled with school supplies. After deftly stuffing missing items into school bags and taking out calculators, scurrying over to find bags of a requested color, and consoling kids after we ran out of the kind of bag they wanted, we put smiles on the faces of hundreds of kids in the neighborhood. Apart from giving supplies, some Key Clubbers dressed up as Alice in Wonderland characters like the Queen of Hearts and the White Rabbit and entertained the kids. As a plus, all volunteers got to take any remaining school supplies they wanted when the event was over! I got some really good small Adelphic blue notebooks that function a lot like Muji.

I got one restaurant interested!
