town’s first vice mayor Roberto Alonso. Always At Your Side Adult Day Care, Inc. is inviting the entire community to the facility’s grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, March 8, starting at 10 a.m. at the Lake Patricia Shopping Center, 13965-67 N.W. 67 Avenue. The company’s staff will provide tours and meet with families to understand their needs. The center offers valuable services for senior citizens living in Miami Lakes and the northwest Miami-Dade Community. Last year, Roberto and Alexandra Alonso met with Cid about exploring ways to help senior citizens, and the good friends decided on opening up an adult day care facility in the area. The center provides the elderly with such services as assistance with eating, taking medication, counseling, educational programs and mental stimulation, exercise programs, health monitoring, therapy and social activities. They also can participate in arts and crafts, cooking, games, taking field trips and planting gardens. The center will also be among a few in South Florida licensed to care for Alzheimer patients. The facility is staffed with qualified personnel who love to work with seniors, including medical personnel. Alexandra Alonso, who has 15 years of healthcare experience and earned a Master’s Degree in health care administration from Florida

International University, took a leap of faith by leaving her job in the managed healthcare field to open the day care. “My dream has always been to open a facility in the Town of Miami Lakes that would give back to this beautiful community,” said Alonso, the facility’s president. “Our Center will provide a much needed service to Miami Lakes and the northwest Miami-Dade region; the goal is to improve our patients’ quality of life while providing caregivers much-needed peace of mind while at work.”

Their business partner, Cid, is excited to join forces with his friends. “I'm ecstatic to be part of South Florida's premier adult day care,” said Cid, who is the company’s vice president. “This is a locally owned and family operated business in the heart of Miami Lakes.” The center opens from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 305362-2202, or email info@alwaysat yoursideadc.com.

The Painting drama is scheduled for March 14-16 at Main St. Playhouse Opening for one weekend only, the Main Street Players of Miami Lakes is proud to present MIA Dreamscapes’ production of The Painting. Written by absurdist

author Eugene Ionesco and directed by Isaac Polanco, this bizarre work is about a negotiation between a struggling artist and a wealthy benefactor.

THE PAINTING, a play about negotiations between a struggling artist and a wealthy benefactor features (from left) Nathalie Nodarse, Michelle Antelo, Richard Cifuentes, and Lou Castro.

The show's cast includes Michelle Antelo, Lou Castro, Richard Cifuentes and Nathalie Nodarse, and runs March 14 to 16, Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Tickets for this production are $15 and are available on the Main Street Players’ website or at the door prior to admission. The production features the artist, known as The Painter, who wants to sell his painting to a benefactor, known as The Stout Gentleman, for a good price. However, The Stout Gentleman intimidates and bullies The Painter, successfully low-balling him to an almost criminal degree. The audience eventually learns why The Stout Gentleman covets the painting so much and how far he is willing to go to attain both beauty and fulfillment. Express Employment’s Lakes office reports successful drive for temporary holiday jobs This past holiday season, Express Employment Professionals offices across the United States and Canada joined together to “Pay It Forward” by hosting hiring drives and events in an effort to put job seekers to work. The Miami Lakes Express office secured work for 32 people during the holidays. The goal of the drive was to help give encouragement and purpose to as many job seekers as possible by providing them an opportunity to earn a week’s worth of pay before the holidays and help provide for their families. In addition to putting an average of $1,000 into the pockets of each person hired, the Miami Lakes

Express office donated $25 for each person hired to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals that includes the new Miami Children’s Outpatient Center in Miami Lakes. “Our Pay It Forward hiring drive wouldn’t have been so successful if it weren’t for the outstanding partnerships with 16 local businesses in the community,” said Michael Huffaker, owner and general manager of the Miami Lakes Express office. “With their support, we were able to make a difference and give back.” The Miami Lakes office is currently accepting applications. Miami Lakes Zonta Club celebrates Amelia Earhart with reactment of her life At their January membership meeting, members of the Zonta Club of Miami Lakes proudly joined Zonta International and Zonta Clubs all over the world in celebrating one of its most famous members – Amelia Earhart. This year, the Miami Lakes Zontians celebrated the world famed aviator and first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean by performing a skit that reenacted key areas of her life and accomplishments. Earhart was an active member of Zonta, and Zonta International has honored her memory since 1938 by awarding 1,403 Amelia Earhart Fellowships totaling $8.3 million to nearly 1,000 women from 68 countries. The Miami Lakes Zonta Club held its annual remembrance of Amelia Earhart by the home of Dr. Ruth Schobel who played the reporter who interviewed Earhart, portrayed by Helen Brown. Jan Hammond, Sally Whitton, Cathie Inman and Peggy Hicks participated as members of the press and inquired of Earhart about her love of flying, and how she afforded flying lessons in a time when women rarely had control of their own finances. Zonta members learned that Earhart earned enough from the sale of her book, “20 Hours and 40 minutes,” to buy her own plane which she named “Avian Moth.” Earhart was also active with the Red Cross and in helping to bring attention to the right of women to vote. The skit ended with a presentation of a key to Miami Lakes to the great aviator and champion for women, Amelia Earhart. The Miami Lakes Zonta Club is currently seeking sponsors for its signature fundraising event, Claws for Celebration, scheduled

Quarterly Performance Report

The Town of Miami Lakes released its Quarterly Performance Report, as city officials continue to improve how the town delivers municipal services to the satisfaction of area residents. To enhance the quality of services, the town has each department set realistic goals or targets, which they can work toward achieving, and implementing measures that will be of use for making major decisions. The Performance Report provides a narrative for each performance area the town measures and shares information on departmental goals and successes. “As we continue working to enhance our communications with residents and strengthen the effectiveness of our service delivery, these quarterly performance reports are a great step in the right direction,” said Mayor Wayne Slaton. Highlights of the first Performance Report include: Since incorporation, Public Safety has been the top priority and law enforcement officials have kept the crime rate low over the past decade. The town’s police department finished with some of its best performance to close out 2013. New town commander Major Gene Dieppa inherited one of the lowest police targeted crime rate months over the past three years, with only 32 targeted crimes reported in December 2013. However, there was an increase of 27 more vehicular burglaries from October to November 2013, but 10 of those criminals were apprehended. For the current fiscal year, the number of police calls for service has ranged from a weekly low of 284 to a high of 339, averaging about 128 calls per month. In addition, the number of police citations issued is trending

less than the previous two fiscal years by about 115 citations. This is due to the police placing more of their focus on reducing the amount of targeted crimes in Miami Lakes. Town issued Building Permits for the current fiscal year has been higher than in previous years. In December, 275 permits were issued, one of the highest months over the past three years. For Planning and Zoning in October, there was a rise in the number of zoning verification requests received due to The Graham Companies refinancing properties. For Transit Services, ridership on the Miami Lakes Mover increased in October and November and has doubled so far in 2014. For Public Works, the town has 2,046 street lights in Miami Lakes, and the town has continued to meet its goal of maintaining a working percentage of 99 percent. The average number of nonworking street lights from October to December was 22. For Code Compliance, the town is progressing toward the expected budgeted revenue of $100,000 from code fines for 2014. A total of $47,482 fines have been collected so far this fiscal year. The code compliance department has maintained its level of proactive monitoring and notification. The number of code cases opened this fiscal year is 229. For Community and Leisure Services, Miami Lakes surpassed its tree trimming goal this past year by 2,096, and the town has set a goal of 5,000 trees to be trimmed. Miami Lakes has a total of 17,832 trees with 12,096 being trimmed over the past two years, if this year’s goal is met.

Tips to stay healthy on the high seas! Spring break is almost here! Many families take advantage of the break from school for a welldeserved family vacation. A popular choice is going on a cruise. Living in the cruise capital of the world makes it easy to book a voyage, jump on a ship, and hit the open waters. Before boarding, there are some precautions you should take to make sure you don’t get sick on the high seas. Over the last couple of years, there have been some reported outbreaks of norovirus on cruises. Recently, a ship had to return to port early because so many passengers were sick. Norovirus is very contagious and can be transmitted by coming into contact with contaminated food or water, or by touching a contaminated surface. According to the Centers for

Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the virus causes your stomach or intestines or both to get inflamed leading to stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting. The CDC states that it is the most common cause of foodborne disease outbreak in the country, and it causes illness in 19 to 21 million people, contributes to 56,000 to 71,000 hospitalizations and 570800 deaths annually. There are precautions you can take to lessen your chances of catching this virus. You should practice proper hygiene by washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Always wash your hands before eating, preparing or handling food, and especially after using the toilet and changing diapers. Antibacterial or alcohol-based hand sanitizers can be used in addition to hand washing. They

Voters to see tax consequences on future county bond votes Future Miami-Dade County bond referendums will contain a caveat to voters: Approving the bond item will raise your taxes. The Miami-Dade County Commission gave final approval to an ordinance sponsored by Commissioner Esteban Bovo Jr. to include language in future bond measures specifying that the proposed bond would be “paid or secured by taxes derived from the assessed value of property in the County.” A two-thirds majority of the Commission would be

required to waive the new language. “This language will ensure that voters are aware that what they’re voting for will increase their property taxes,” Bovo said. “History has shown that Miami-Dade citizens don’t have a problem paying for something when they feel it is important enough, but as a County, I feel we owe it to voters to be as transparent as possible.”

should not be used as a substitute for washing with soap and water. The following are symptoms of Norovirus: Diarrhea, throwing up, nausea, stomach pain, fever, headache, and body aches. If you in fact have norovirus you can feel extremely sick and vomit or have diarrhea multiple times a day. This can easily lead to dehydration. Signs of dehydration are decrease in urination, dry mouth and throat, and feeling dizzy when standing up. There is no specific treatment for norovirus and it cannot be healed with medicine because it is a viral, not a bacterial infection. The best thing you can do to get better is to drink plenty of liquids to replace the ones you have lost; this will also help prevent dehydration. To stay hydrated, avoid drinks that contain caffeine or alcohol. Sports drinks may help, but over the counter rehydration fluids can be more helpful in replacing important nutrients and minerals. Most people with norovirus illness get better within one to three days. Although it is a short time period, it is long enough to ruin your vacation. When going on that long-awaited cruise, remember to always wash your hands and your will greatly minimize your chance of catching anything and maximize your probability of having a healthy and fun trip! Happy Spring Break!

Park Martial Arts Federation opens in Miami Lakes By Roselind Romero The Miami Laker staff Children, teens, adults and families can now visit Park's Martial Arts Federation located at 15517 N.W. 67 Avenue in Miami Lakes, to sign up for various Taekwon-Do classes and special events. The Miami Lakes location is the the eighth addition to the federation's many centers in South Florida. The Park's Martial Arts Federation began in 1965 when Grand Master, Jung Soo Park, began teaching in South Korea following his years of experience with the sport. He received the title of Grand Master, meaning he is certified through the South Korean Government as a 9th degree black belt. After being a body guard for the South Korean president and captain of the Rok Navy, Grand Master Park and his family immigrated to the U.S. where the Park family brought their talents and opened a school for martial arts in the 1970's. Since then, the Grand Master's children Master Cheong Park and

Master Shick Park have continued their father's legacy, having practiced martial arts for over 35 years. Success runs in the Park family. Taekwon-Do and Judo are the only martial arts to be inducted into the Olympic sports and Shick Park was a part of the United States Olympic Committee for TaekwonDo. He and other committee members hosted junior nationals and senior nationals all over major cities in USA. The tournaments would draw up to 8,000 competitors at a time. Various state and national champions were once taught by the Parks including Catherine Basham, Christopher Sams, Whitney Glassberg, Richard Acosta, Jade Acosta, and Heather Hochnick. The Park brothers and their sister, Master Cheong Me Park, were also state and national champions. The centers are open for those who wish to be challenged in the art of Taekwon-Do and develop important life skills. The motto for the federation is "We build black belts with character." All ages and

belt levels are welcome for group classes, private lessons, and fitness MMA classes for those who wish to increase muscle tone, flexibility and coordination while learning defensive skills. "Our focus in our schools is character development and life skills. We teach this through timetested martial arts self defense curriculums that challenge our students physically and mentally," said Shick Park. "It's not just about kicking and punching. Every student is different and we want to bring out their best. Through the martial arts program they gain proper discipline and self confidence to excel in life." All instructors are certified through Park's Martial Arts Federation "Instructor Certification" and World Taekwon-Do Federation "Ku Ki Won" in Seoul, Korea which is the official instructor certification for Taekwon-Do throughout the world. The art of Taekwon-Do is something the Parks take seriously, not only as a curriculum but as a way of life. Shick Park continues

Alyssa Moore wins Girls 12-Under tournament By Roselind Romero The Miami Laker staff Miami Lakes resident and tennis player, Alyssa Moore, competed in the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Florida Region 8 Girls 12-and-under Tournament winning the first place trophy. Moore, a seventh grader at Bob Graham Education Center, competed in four matches in her quest for first place, improving her USTA ranking along the way. The tournament, which was held at Shula's Athletic Club on Saturday,

February 15, through Monday, February 17, was a level 7 national tournament that had a record total of 85 players for boys and girls 12's and 14's from surrounding counties and out of state. "I was so excited that I won and it was an amazing experience," said Moore. "I found it even more exciting because I won in my own club. I was so relieved that I won all four matches because they weren't very easy." Paulo Hexsel, Tennis director for the Athletic Club, has been coaching Moore since she was

seven and has seen athletic growth over the years. "With a lot of hard work, Alyssa is now competing against the very best players in Florida," said Hexsel. "Since that early age, I could see she was a very gifted athlete, very competitive and hardworking. That's when I told her parents we needed to expose her to tournaments." Moore began competing in rookie tournaments at age 10, winning two tournaments at the rookie level and placing in several others. Moore and her family plan to continue participating in tennis tournaments and training throughout high school and at the collegiate level. "It is very exciting to have one of my players win a high level tournament and in our own club, where we spend hours every day training, sweating and developing the local Miami Lakes talent," said Hexsel. "Alyssa very well represented not only herself and her family, but also Shula's Athletic Club and the Miami Lakes community."

ALYSSA MOORE came in first place for the United States Tennis Association Florida Region 8 Girls 12and-under Tournament held at the Shula's Athletic Club in February.

American High’s softball team undefeated for season By David L. Snelling The Miami Laker staff Last Fall, Sergio Fernandez coached a softball travel league team, the Miami Stars, to an undefeated season that featured most of his players from American High School. Their success has spilled over to the Spring regular season, as the Patriots are 8-0 and armed with perhaps the best two hitters in Miami-Dade County, and a pitching staff loaded with so much talent that opposing teams were left scratching their heads following its stellar performances. Facing their bitter district rivals, Goleman High, ace pitcher Andrea Rincon (6-0, .129 ERA), led her team to a close victory in a see-saw game that continues to define their rivalry. “They took the lead first, then we took the lead, they took the lead and we finally led and won the game,” said Fernandez. “It was a very intense game, and well contested on both sides. It was a tremendous game.” The Patriots’ bats are hot led by the one and two hitters in the lineup, shortstop Alexandria Fernandez, who is hitting .786 and third baseman Kayleen Romero batting .556. “Alexandria is hitting the daylight out of the ball,” Fernandez said of his daughter. “And Kayleen is hot.” Team captain Michelle Murch is batting .375 and is arguably one of the best center-fielders in Florida, Fernandez said.

American won its third consecutive district championship last year and lost in the regional semifinals. With seven returning starters and more experience, the Patriots are keeping their eyes on the bigger prize – the state title. “The big difference is girls who have been playing for four years,” Fernandez said. “Anything short of our goal is a disappointment for us.” Fernandez said last year’s heartbreaking loss still is on his players’ minds. “They don’t want to have that same feeling again,” he said. In baseball news: As of last week, Goleman High’s baseball team was 5-0, including a 10-5 victory over division rival Hialeah Thoroughbreds, who eliminated the Gators from the regional semifinals last season. Coach Jose Lopez said his team is preparing for another challenging week against Alonso and Tracy Mourning, Sunset and Miami Beach, hoping his team can keep its undefeated streak alive. Lopez said his players’ bats came alive early in the regular season and hope they can stay hot. He said last year, when his team scored at least four runs, the Gators won but lost each time when they scored less than four runs. Top players pitcher Shawn Carrasco, third baseman Kevin Gomez and first baseman Joshua Guia are the returning starters seeking to erase last year’s disappointing post season.

Pace Spartan’s basketball team ends season at 21-11 with a district title By Anthony Serro, Head Coach Special to The Miami Laker Monsignor Edward Pace High School’s Basketball season came to an end Friday night, February 21 in the Regional Final at Coral Springs Charter. While it may be disappointing to have a season end without a championship, it was a great run for everyone involved. The Spartans finished with a 21-11 record and won the district regular season and tournament championships, while finishing as the highest scoring team in the state at over 84 points per game, earning a top 10 ranking nationally. The 21 wins were a 12 game

improvement over last season that ended with the Spartans going 920 and losing in the district semifinals. In addition to the team accomplishments, the growth of the players was also a noticeable positive that came from this season. Junior C.J. Fisher and senior Danny Duarte each averaged 21 points per game. Fisher had 47 points against Florida Christian and a 40 point, 13 rebound effort in the District Championship against Booker T. Washington. The last of those 40 points was a game-winning free throw with 7 seconds left in the game. Duarte had four 30+ point

games and was a consistent presence in the lineup each of the last two years. Additionally, the development of sophomores Sebastien Jean, Don King, and Armand del Castillo gives reason for the Spartans to be excited about the future as well. Newcomer Josh Ferguson and freshman Raul Paula also will continue to develop and make their presence felt on both sides of the floor. The season may have ended earlier than the team hoped, but the future is bright! Look for the 'Runnin’ Spartans' to keep the pace of the game fast and the shots will keep coming in bunches! Is it November yet?

American Senior High sends students to Naval Academy for STEM opportunities The United States Naval Academy (USNA) is a strong proponent of boosting comprehension and interest in the academic subjects of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, collectively known as STEM, with the hopes that students will be more inclined to attend college and pursue a STEM major. USNA recently extended the opportunity to four high schools in Miami-Dade County to select high-achieving students to attend the STEM program in Annapolis, Maryland in late January. Students nominated from

American Senior High School included Gloria Chyr, Lianne Dela Cruz, Diane San Martin, Michael Rizo, Nathan Farley and Kassandra Cuero. MLEC’s ‘Twitter Talk’ gains multiple media recognitions By Roselind Romero The Miami Laker staff The Harbinger, the student-led newspaper at Miami Lakes Educational Center (MLEC) frequently hosts "Twitter Talk" via Twitter on world and local issues to bring forth intelligent discourse and an avenue for student voices to be heard. The latest "Twitter Talk" was #EmbargoTalk. The national trending topic went on to garner the attention of The Miami Herald and New York Times reporters and was picked up as an article in El Nuevo Herald. Fabiola Santiago, a Miami Herald columnist, tweeted encouraging followers to join in the #EmbargoTalk. Former Miami Herald columnist Mirta Ojito, currently a writer for The New York Times and journalism professor at Columbia retweeted Santiago. Researcher and Ph.D. candidate, Arturo Lopez-Levy tweeted a link to a student's article on The Harbinger's website which was later retweeted by New York Times reporter Damien Cave.

The Twitter feed and a studentmade historical video on the Cuban embargo are both featured in El Nuevo Herald alongside the article titled "Students of Miami Lakes debate the Cuban embargo on Twitter." Students raised questions regarding the $1.2 billion dollars in lost sales of exports, how the embargo has been regarded as a scapegoat for the communist Cuban government, and the effects lifting the embargo will bring to the Cuban people. Currently the majority of Floridians are in favor of removing the embargo set forth nearly 50 years ago. Participants in #EmbargoTalk sided mostly with lifting the ban, though others believed the embargo had little to do with the poor living conditions of the Cuban people. "The embargo still stands as a mark of resilience in the face of adversity. We shouldn't facilitate suffering," tweeted one student contributor, Christopher, with the twitter handle @stoichiometric.

National College Fair draws 11,000 students and parents Miami-Dade Public Schools hosted another successful National College Fair which was held February 9 at the Doubletree by Hilton Miami Airport Hotel and Convention Center. About 11,000 students and parents participated in the four-hour event where representatives from more than 200 colleges and universities provided answers to questions regarding admissions, financial aid and testing requirements. “It is gratifying to know that

many thousands of participating students were able to obtain critical information about academic opportunities available to them, especially as the decisions they make today will affect their future,” said School Board chair Perla Tabares Hantman, who has co-chaired the event for the past 18 years. The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and Miami-Dade Public Schools sponsored the free event.

PERLA TABARES HANTMAN, chair of the Miami-Dade School Board, along with Superintendent of Schools Alberto M. Carvalho and Board member Dr. Lawrence Feldman, officially opened the 2014 National College Fair.

Catholic Hospice hosts Camp Erin to support bereaved kids The Moyer Foundation and Catholic Hospice presents Camp Erin, a special camp for children who have experienced the death of a loved one. The camp takes place March 14-16 at Camp Owaissa Bauer, 17001 S.W. 264 Street in Homestead. It is free for all children in need to bereavement support between the ages of 6 and 17. Mega pet adoption event huge success Seven-year-old Melanie Rodriguez’s bright blue eyes were glued to the sad puppy dog eyes of a Beagle, as if the breed was waiting for her parents to take him home. The little girl and the dog appeared to be so happy together, almost inseparable from the first time they spotted each other. Melanie and her parents attended the Open Your Heart and Your Home mega pet adoption event and fund-raiser last month at Amelia Earhart Park in Hialeah. Miami-Dade County Commissioner Esteban Bovo Jr., the county’s Animal Services Department and the Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department sponsored the event, as adorable dogs and cats found new homes. During the event, 50 animals were adopted, 26 dogs and 32 cats were spayed or neutered, and more than $1,000 was raised for the county’s Animal Services Trust Fund. In addition, the event featured low-cost vaccines, microchips and tags. Participants included the Fire Department of Hialeah, MiamiDade Expressway Authority, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, State Senator René García, Catholic Hospice, Fanci Pooch DaySpaw, Blue Bell Ice Cream, Handmade Backpacks, Pets Supermarket, Miami Coalition Against Breed Specific Legislation, Girl Scout Service Unit 42, IFAS 4-H Youth Development and the MiamiDade County Elections Department. “I want to thank all the sponsors, participants and volunteers who helped make this event such a great success, as well as everyone in the community who showed they cared by taking home a wonderful pet and opening their hearts to improve animal welfare in Miami-Dade County,” Bovo said.

Surprise ceremony held for Superintendent A. Carvalho A surprise ceremony was held by the Miami-Dade County School for Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho after he was named 2014 National Superintendent of the Year at The School Superintendents Association (AASA) National Conference held in Nashville, Tennessee. Through this recognition, Carvalho was honored for his many accomplishments and

achievements as head of the fourth largest school district in the nation. Carvalho was chosen for this distinction amongst superintendents of 15,000 school districts nationwide. At the ceremony, Carvalho was pleasantly surprised with a standing ovation by School Board Members, students, teachers and District staff.

M.L. K-8 Center’s Michelle Wright named Black History Month Education winner By Roselind Romero The Miami Laker staff Michelle Wright, third grade teacher at Miami Lakes K-8 Center, was selected as one of the winners of the Annual Black History Month Excellence in Education Award. She was nominated by fellow colleague and third grade teacher Kristina Cala. Governor Rick Scott and First Lady Ann Scott initiated the Annual Black History Month Excellence in Education Award contest in early January. The contest was open to all AfricanAmerican, full time educators. Only three winners, one for elementary, middle and high schools, in the state of Florida were selected. "Michelle Wright was nominated for the award because she sin-

gle handedly spearheaded this year's Black History Month activities at Miami Lakes K-8 Center," said Cala. Miami Lakes K-8 Center's Black History Month activities included essay competitions, projects, daily trivia questions, weekly spotlights on historical figures, and an assembly featuring an African storyteller who shared African history, played the djembe, and sang the African national anthem. Wright was honored at a reception at the governor's mansion in Tallahassee on Tuesday, February 25, for her achievement. She and the other winners each received $1,500. The South Florida Market has earned its third consecutive sales record, surpassing previous records by 8%. According to the 31,000-member Miami Association of Realtors® (MLS), strong demand for Miami properties from both domestic and international buyers resulted in another year record. 2014 Chairman of MLS Liza Mendez Photo Courtesy: miamiriches.com says they expect strong demand to continue this year but are encouraged that more homeowners are listing more homes for sale, creating more balance between buyers and sellers.
