1st quarterly report JCI Denmark 2014

Odense, March 2014

Dear JCI member, You have here JCI Denmark's first quarterly report for 2014. The report focuses on the activities we presented in the Plan of Action and on the progress we have made on our objectives. In the action plan, we presented three strategically important tasks for our organization; quality in the local organizations, a successful completion of the national JCI Day, and visibility through branding. These three focus areas should support the one overall purpose: To increase member satisfaction. Our member satisfaction survey shows that our members weigh networking and personal growth and development as most important in the monthly meetings. However, the survey also shows that the courses we offer in personal development do not always target what our members demand. Therefore, here is my challenge to you, dear members: Tell your Local Presidents what you want! And to you, local presidents: Ask your members what they want and give it to them! Remember to listen and provide what they ask for. If you do not know how to provide it, grab hold of the large national team - we are here for you! This also applies to the JCI Day and visibility through branding - we are here for you. Planning of many different, exciting activities for JCI Day is in full swing, and I am pleased to see so many applications for the JCI Denmark Foundation to support the JCI Day. The branding area has been busy; we look forward to showing you the new national website, which will be launched in a few weeks, and which will ultimately make us even stronger on our branding area. But we can do even more, so use us for larger or smaller queries. On behalf of team 2014 Eva Hye LangkjĂŚr, National President 2014

JCI Support, Kåre Bjørn Jensen Collecting knowledge JCI Support collects and distributes documents to support internal knowledge sharing.

Requests for assistance by JCI Support JCI Support's main task is to support local chapters and be an extended arm of the National team. Therefore, it is essential that we are available to them and the number of inquiries serve as a benchmark for how well we fulfill this role.

Facebook page As the awareness of JCI Support increases, we can help more people. Therefore, we measure the number of followers on our Facebook page to have a specific number and to follow progress.

JCI i Bevægelse, Sanne Hessel We have prepared the project description and established contact with the local chapters. The plan is set to start after the JCI Day is completed.

Partnerships, Dennis H. Christensen New partnerships We are in good dialogue with potential new partners, but have no concrete agreements yet. We are still working on finding a media agency; the goal is to be ready to initiate for the JCI Day.

Existing partnerships To ensure satisfaction in our partners it is important to create visibility and we are therefore very excited about the new website and can’t wait for it to be ready.

Partnerships locally and regionally When mapping local and regional partnerships, the dialogue with the Local Presidents and members continue to be essential. Part of this dialogue has included an introduction with a mini brochure, which has been given to the presidents.

International Relations, Dennis H. Christensen Promote international events We are off to a great start regarding the international activities, with good visibility and interest to the EC on Malta and WC in Leipzig. Betina V Pedersen is in place as travel coordinator for the EC.

International visits Steven Wilson, Vice President in 2014, is participating at the national spring congress in Sønderborg, and joining my official JCI workshop "The I in JCI." Here we will discuss international issues and opportunities.

Twinning During the workshop on FK with Steven Wilson, we will also discuss the concept Twinning.

Relations The good relationships in the Nordic group are intact, but we still see a lot of area for improvement in the way we share experiences etcetera.

Development, Karen Würtz and Thomas H. Grønbæk The JCI-day We have ... • developed a logo • held a workshop on Local Leaders Training 4 in January and two regions • secured DDK 50,000 in funding from the JCI Denmark Foundation • guaranteed donation of 200 polo shirts for the JCI-day • contacted all chapters by mail and telephone. Only 5 departments have declined so far

Projects to a higher level On the national “Competence Day West”, we had a project management-track with 3 modules; Idea Generation, User Involvement, and Project Descriptions. We have also created a document to JCI HQ on our observations in connection with the development of the JCI Impact course. We are still awaiting response.

The value of the membership To identify the value of your membership, we have: • Prepared a questionnaire for value-clarification of current and former members (interview and video) • Reserved a stand at the spring congress tradeshow, for a photo shoot. The material will be used to value mapping and PR • We are planning a spring congress JCI workshop called "The member put in the center"

Training, Michael Kærgaard In the training area, we have chosen to focus on spreading official and recommended courses throughout Denmark.

HR, Rina Dybdal Recruitment In the recruitment section we have primarily focused on establishing HR as a forum on Facebook, where we can publish monthly membership numbers and work on material for the JCI Day.

Integration To ensure the integration of new members we have been working on a welcome package and individual plans of action.

1st quarterly report JCI Denmark 2014 Retention In the quest to retain the members we are working on a series of interviews with members.

The local Board of Directors To highlight the efforts that are put into the local boards, we have prepared a board pamphlet and invited board members to a reception at the spring congress. More activities are being planned.

Vice Presidents Operations, Lea Kjær We have the first three months of the year behind us and it is time for a summary from the VP-O team. I have 5 Vice Presidents in the team and we have been busy participating in general assembly, at Local Leader Training courses and, none the least, visiting local chapters.

Regional Meetings The VP's have had an amazing start to the year, with as many as 14 regional meetings divided into 5 regions. It is, however, only the beginning, as we still have 30 in the calendar during the rest of the year.

VP participation at chapter meetings Part of the VPs activities is to visit the chapters in their region. So far they have visited 28 different local chapters in total, measured by the monthly meetings. In this area we are also just getting started, since we have 32 more visits planned during the remainder of the year.
