Music Notes…

Downeaster’s Angel Fund

It has come to the board’s attention that there may be individuals who are not planning to go to the district convention with us because they cannot afford it. The Board has established an angel fund to help any such individuals. If you need financial aid to attend the convention in October please let me know. The chapter will loan you money to assist you in attending so that you can come with us. We will ask that you repay the loan within 6 months if you are able. No one except the president and the treasurer will know the identity of individuals who receive loans from the fund.

OOB Show this Saturday

Details on Saturday's https://downeasters.choirgenius.com/node/3693/gig:

If you are going please read the entire note.

Location: Veteran'sMemorial Park: 4 Heath St, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064

Call time: 1pm

Show time: 2:30pm

Show duration: 1 - 1 1/2 hours

Weather looks good but if it turns show may be canceled Parking and meeting location:

The performance site, and the parking is on First Street in Old Orchard. The site is right across from the train station waiting area. Let's meet at the gazebo, which is in Memorial Park, and about 100 ft. from where we will be singing. Once we've met there, we can warm up or move if there is someone already there.

Dress:

• tux pants, black shoes/socks

• solid colored shirt (long-sleeve)

• probably won't use tie but bring one in case There is NO place to change on site so arrive dressed for the performance Afterglow: Run of the Mill, 100 Main St, Saco, after the show Quartets that will perform:

• Mach 4

• The Maine Idea

• Port City Sound (David Brown on tenor)

The audience is not fixed so be prepared for folks moving around and perhaps not paying attention. In this environment focus on our director and if a quartet is performing, focus on them. Be professional, do not let eyes wander or be distracted by activity. Acknowledging applause is fine, but remember to re-focus for next song.

~George

District Registrations

I will be delaying registering chorus members for District to next week. This is to better understand what the banquet is about. I can do the combo registration for members desiring to go to the banquet. Since the chorus covers only the competition registration, members will need to reimburse the chorus the banquet fee portion of the registration.

Members I plan to register for competition based on invite responses:
