Covid Policy Reminder
"The Downeasters Chorus takes the health of our members very seriously. Members and guests are welcome to come to our meetings, as long as you are feeling well. We generally follow CDC guidelines. We require that you can produce evidence of at least the first two Covid vaccines if asked. Plus, do not visit us for at least 10 days after a flu-like illness or if you tested positive for Covid, and wait 5 days if you believe you have been in contact with someone who is ill or tested positive for Covid. If in doubt, please take a Covid test the day you plan to come."
Downeasters - Annual Show Music Details
Rehearsal recap this week is simple: know your notes and words, follow the director, and tell great stories. That's the entire thing - gonna save the rest of this email for musical logistics for the show on Saturday!
So, for that show, we are STARTING AT 2:30PM, so plan ahead to be there early so we can start on time. The wardrobe is the color scheme that follows the photo that Bill Bedford sent out earlier today - I've attached it here as well. As a reminder: shades of blue are allowed, but nothing super light, and no teal. Red accent (tie, pocket square, etc) allowed. Jacket and/or vest optional - shirt must be at least a dress shirt, preferred single-color, no pattern. Navy and Black pants only, navy and black shoes only - no brown shoes, no khakis or brown pants. If you have any doubts, put the outfit together, take a picture of it, and email it to me and I can confirm!
For the show layout, I've also attached the full script. As a reminder, song titles will NOT be in the portions that Glenn is reading, so either memorize the songs, write it down, or just don't sing until you know which song it is! I've also pasted below the order things are happening on the show:
Blue Skies
Cop on the Beat
Can You Feel the Love Tonight
Hello Mary Lou
What a Wonderful World
(CHORUS LEAVES STAGE)
QUARTET: Port City Sound
USM Group: The Sharp Elevens
<INTERMISSION>
USM Group: Out-Rae-Jazz
QUARTET: Mach 4
(CHORUS RETURNS TO STAGE)
Nevertheless
Bare Necessities
Irish Blessing
Others will send reminders / updates regarding parking, afterglow, etc. as needed. Thanks for your hard work everyone, see you Saturday!
-Chris

Music Medics
Music Medics,
Now that April is almost behind us...We will be having short meetings starting next Monday night during the 10-minute chorus rehearsal break time. Glenn will be sharing information on preparing for our first outing at The Barbara Bush Childrens Hospital on June 20th at 1:30 pm. Come prepared to sing a couple of songs and gather information on what we are wearing. Our initial song package will be:
You've Got a Friend in Me
My Wild Chubby Cat
Blue Skies
Bubble Gum
Wait till the sun shines Nellile
Little Eyes I Love You (name song)
You should be concentrating initially on learning: My Wild Chubby Cat, You've Got a Friend in Me, and Bubble Gum. Music and learning tapes are on the Downeasters website. Thank you all for your community interest and dedication to this worthy cause! Glenn
