Music Notes…
Competition Chorus Auditions
This is a brief note on logistics for auditions
We will be doing auditions as people are ready both before and after normal rehearsal time. In general the music team will should up around 5:30 for both auditions and to help with runs of the songs (with limited/no talking :-)
We'll also do auditions after rehearsal.
Please bring a copy of the music so that it can be used for notes on your audition
Also, you do not need to audition both songs at the same time. You can if you want but that is not a requirement, although ultimately you'll need to pass on both songs in order to compete!
If you plan to audition on a given evening it'd help to let us know by sending email to music@downeasters.org
or just notifying me or Chris. Again, not required but it'd help planning!
George

Best,
Chris Cutler-WoodNew Tracks on Web Site
I've just purchased some upgraded learning tracks for the chorus for:
o Polecat I songs
o Yuletide favorites (includes some of our holiday songs)
o Star Spangled Banner
o God Bless America
These are done by either Tim or Tony so they are really good. Not all of the polecats are on the new site. If you have favorites you'd like let me know
Note that the tracks for God Bless America aren't precisely what we sing. I've mentioned this in the notes on that song but we start with "While the storm clouds gather" and do a different tag, which is in the music but we have no recording for it.
Enjoy
