“Oh the places you will go…” Stay Connected

By Ashley Konkel From a chapter size of 22 women to 38 women– we could not be more proud of the accomplishments that we have made this semester! Adding 16 new members to our sisterhood has helped make amaXing strides to better ourselves as a chapter and as collegiate women. We have pushed ourselves to achieve great things academically and philanthropically this semester. Thanks to our hardworking Academic Achievement Chair (Erin Dusek), we have completely revamped our academic plan. We tried out a new system where we have facilitated study hours and worked together with our sisters to strive for academic excellence. Also, Angie Fersch (Philanthropy Chair) has been on top of her game with Autism Speaks Fundraising. She pushed us to raise more money than we thought we could. She planned for our chapter to host several Topper’s Fundraiser Nights, where we have been able to raise over $150 by encouraging people to come eat at the restaurant. The future is looking bright for the Delta Alpha Chapter, and I can’t wait to see where we are headed!

New Member Reflection By Emily Kjeldgaard The week leading up to Initiation was so exciting and filled with AXiD events and activities. I was so excited to become a full member and learn all there is to know about Alpha Xi Delta. I wasn't entirely sure of what to expect during the pre-initiation and initiation ceremonies, but I knew they would be amazing!

It was a great experience meeting the alumnae from our chapter and from others across the country who came out to participate in our ceremony. It made me realize how much being an Alpha Xi can connect you with people. I felt so proud to wear the quill, and when I looked around the room I could tell all of the members of my pledge class did as well. It's the best feeling in the world to know that I will have my sisters behind me for the rest of my life.

Big Little Reveal Big Little Reveal is one of the most exciting times of the year, besides recruitment of course. It reminds of how far we have come since we started college, of how much we have learned about being sisters to one another, and of how much pride we have for Alpha Xi Delta. Being able to share these things with someone else and helping them to realize all that Alpha Xi Delta can offer is an unbelievable feeling. This semester - the Littles matched the top of a pumpkin to the bottom, which was waiting in front of their Big. Everyone was so excited to see the AXiD families grow with an amaxing group of women. Happy Thanksgiving! What are we thankful for? • I’m thankful for my family and the support they give me to follow my dreams. • I’m thankful for all the opportunities I’ve had in life. • I’m thankful for a really successful recruitment. • I’m thankful for my friends who are always there for me. • I’m thankful for the opportunity to love and to be loved. • I’m thankful for my Littles and all the joy they bring into my life.
