WORCESTER GREENSTAR CDI FAULT CODES

Fault Code Fault

9A Boiler has been fitted with incorrect Heat Control Module (HTM).

9U The code plug could be faulty or not properly connected.

A7 Hot water NTC sensor defective.

A8 Break in communication to TD200 or/and RT10.

b1 Code plug not detected.

B7 You need to replace the control board.

C6 The system is running too fast or too slow.

C7 Fan is not running or the airflow could be blocked.

D1 Sensor could be wet, damaged or disconnected. The boiler will block for 300 seconds.

D1 Boiler is overheating.

E2 CH flow NTC sensor defective.

E2 The Flow sensor has shorted, is damaged or disconnected.

E9 Safety temp. limiter in CH flow has tripped.

E5 The primary flow sensor has overheated.

E9 The main heat exchanger has overheated as the main temperature is 150 degrees.

E9 Maximum temperature sensor on the main heat exchanger cannot be recognised or has failed.

E9 The flue gas thermostat has overheated.

EA Flame not detected.

EA Failure after four ignition attempts. The boiler will wait 30 seconds before another attempt is made.

EA A flame has been extinguished due to either moisture in the sump, a blocked sump or strong wind in the flue.

EA Gas valve coil has been disconnected.

EA Flame has not extinguished within first 4 seconds of ignition.

EA There is an error as the pump is not detecting water. Check the pressure gauge and repressurise to 1 bar.

F0 Internal error.

F7 Flame detected even though appliance switched off.

FA Flame detected after gas shut off.

Fd Reset button pressed by mistake.

Data Badges

Data Badges come in many forms, but the most important information for any manufacturer, when ordering parts, is:

» G.C. Number

» Serial number

» Model number

Below are some examples of what to look out for:

For Viessmann parts ordering, you must have the first 7 numbers of the serial number for boiler identification – see below:

Some boiler won’t display a G.C. number so please get as much info as possible, as per the below:

And in some cases only the first to “PREFIX” letters of the serial number are needed, like below “XU” (shown underneath the model details) would be what you need to get the relevant boiler detail:

In the domestic oil heating market oil burners are sold separately from the boilers themselves. In the event of a domestic oil burner being uneconomical to repair or if you are having difficulty in obtaining the exact original, Riello have introduced a range of neutrally coded domestic oil burners that can be used as compatible replacements.

It is recommended that each oil burner has an oil nozzle change annually and estimated that one million oil nozzles are sold in the UK each year. Type LE – standard oil nozzles with a built-in LE (Low Emission) valve, patented by Danfoss. Used in combination with a Danfoss LE pump to achieve optimum start/stop phases without any oil drip and thus minimum emission from unburned oil residues.

Type LN – oil nozzles with a special spray pattern that minimises the NOx-content in the flue gases. (Use of oil preheater recommended)

Type LN-LE – LN nozzles with built-in LE valves.

Type EH and ES – OFTEC standardised oil nozzles, especial designed to optimise combustion with Kerosene.

Type AH, AS, AB – standard oil nozzles for the North American market.

Type KH – oil nozzles for kerosene, especially for the Japanese market.

Furthermore, a handy carrying case is available with room for a selection of the most widely used nozzles. With a relative limited range is it possible to perform an effective service on most occurring burners in the market.

Spray patterns

Danfoss nozzles are available with Hollow (H), Solid (S) and Semisolid (B) spray patterns.

In addition the LN nozzle has a special hollow (N) spray pattern.

With this product range almost every oil burner can be serviced, including replacement of nozzles from other brands.

Oil nozzles type EH and ES are designed for domestic high-pressure oil burners operating with kerosene. They are available with 2 different spray angles and sizes from 0.4 to 2.00 USgal/h.

The nozzles are equipped with sintered bronze filters.
