New Executive Director for Tioga Arts Council

Tioga County Council on the Arts (TCCA) announces the appointment of Abbey Hendrickson as its new Executive Director. Ms. Hendrickson joined TCCA in December and assumes her new responsibilities effective January 1, 2013. “The Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Abbey,” said Steve Cooper, Board President. “We are fortunate to have found a new Executive Director with such exemplary qualifications and experience.” Ms. Hendrickson earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from SUNY College

at Brockport and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University at Buffalo. Most recently, she was an Instructor in the Art Department at Mansfield University. Prior experience includes being the Public Arts Program Educator at the Eric Carle Museum in Amherst, MA, and the Programs Director at Western New York Book Arts Collaborative in Buffalo, NY. She has also been the editor of her own blog for the past five years, coordinating blog posts for major brands, including Parents Magazine, Old Navy, and B. Toys. Ms. Hendrickson says, “I’m excited to have been chosen as the Executive Director of the Tioga County Council on the Arts. I’m looking forward to building upon the many fine programs presented each year and will work hard to extend the Council’s offerings and services to an increasing number of County residents." Ms. Hendrickson succeeds TCCA’s previous Executive Director, Ms. Annette Schweiger, who had skillfully led the Arts Council for the past 21 years.
