WELCOME TO OUR 2015 PRICE GUIDE. Welcome to our 2015 price guide. Most clubs managed their end of season renovations due to the favorable weather during September. Having said this many of our groundsmen and greenkeepers have reported quite a lot of moss appearing in the turf due to the wet winter conditions. This can be controlled by using iron based products such as Moss Gard, Lawn Sand, Liquid Iron, Sulphate of Iron and also by having an aeration programme as poorly aerated turf is very susceptible to moss problems. Moss also tends to thrive in shaded areas. To treat moss on artificial and hard surfaces we now have two products, Diard and Vitax Easy Clean. Caste Off is now no longer available for the treatment of worms so we have replaced this with Ringer which is a direct replacement and Sulphur 95 which is in a mini prill form. We have introduced two new grass seed mixtures. CSI Restart which contains Corsica a Creeping Dwarf Perennial Ryegrass and Double a Dwarf Perennial Ryegrass Tetraploid which has a deep crown resulting in deeper rooting. This is a creeping mixture with superior development and ground cover compared to standard cultivars. Lifesaver is an improved SOS type mix which contains very fast growing instant short term grasses that will green up quickly. Colosseum is included for low temperature germination and Double the Tetraploid for super fast emergence. Due to requests from some groundsmen Gostd 125 Surrey Loam has been added to our
comprehensive range of Cricket Loams. After spreading the loam we now have tubs of Supa Wipes to clean hands and tools. These contain a powerful anti-bacterial agent. A new range of fertiliser spreaders has been added to our brochure this year which are excellent value for money starting at well below £100.00. Whilst on the subject of machinery one of the Autumn Renovation Trailers has been moved from Middleton C.C to Wigan C.C – contact Esmond Howarth - 01942 217138. CRICKET WICKET DRESSINGS:
BATTERSBY MENDIP LOAM: 4 mm Screened. An ideal loam for the repair and dressing of cricket wickets and tennis courts at club level where professional levels of maintenance are more difficult to achieve. Its average clay content of 28-32% makes it easy to manage and maintain grass cover.
BOUGHTON KETTERING: A loam with a typical clay content of 24%. This loam has been the main stay of local authority and school cricket pitches for many years. It is an ideal loam where a pitch is required to give a good surface while receiving a minimal amount of preparation.
BOUGHTON CLUB: A loam with a typical clay content of between 25-28%, Club loam is used at clubs that need a true firm pitch but do not have the resources to cope with the higher clay content of our ‘County Loam’.

Ringer prevents worm cast formation by anti feeding and repellent action resulting in worms avoiding treated soil. Earthworm casts result from the deposition of earth and decomposing matter. There are 25 commonly found species of earthworm in the UK, only three of these are responsible for the majority of casts.

DI-ARD AVAILABLE IN 5 LI Di-Ard is a biodegradable quaternary ammonium compound (9.2% dialkyldimethyl ammonium chloride) - this basically means it is a water based concentrate which is used to kill algae, mosses, lichen, wood rotting fungi and moulds on external hard surfaces. It can also be used as a wood preservative. HOW DOES IT WORK? Di-Ard is simply diluted with the recommended rate of water and sprayed or washed over the affected area. No rinsing, scrubbing or powerwashing is required - just leave the product to work its magic. Di-Ard is readily bio-degradable and non bio-accumulating. Once the treated area has dried the surface is safe for animals, pets and children. Di-Ard is also safe to treated surfaces and has NO staining properties. Where can it be used? Di-Ard can be used on external hard surfaces and because it contains no abrasive properties in can be used on delicate surfaces that powerwashing may damage. BOWDRY – WATER REMOVAL MACHINE Bowdry is a revolutionary groundrying machine, designed specifically to efficiently and effectively remove standing water from any surface.
