FAMILIES CELEBRATE VALENTINE’S DAY AT SWEETHEART DANCE
On Friday, February 9, families and children put on their dancing shoes for a Valentine’s Day party at the Community Center. Coordinated by the Parks and Recreation Department, the evening included romantic arts and crafts for the children, refreshments and a DJ that kept everyone moving with dancing music.
FEBRUARY BRUNCH BUNCH DRAWS A CROWD
The Parks and Recreation Department’s monthly Senior Brunch Bunch on Friday, February 16 was in full swing with more than 30 guests who were excited to welcome back Dr. Brian J. Kiedrowski from Miami Jewish Health System. He discussed the importance of end-of-life documents, such as advanced directives and living wills. Those in attendance had the opportunity to complete these documents during the brunch.
RESIDENTS GET ADVICE ON ADOPTING SOLAR POWER The Beaches MiamiDade Solar Co-op held an information session at the Surfside Community Center January 23. The non-profit co-op enables members to save money and receive expert advice as they adopt solar power.
