Welcome to Devil's Den Prehistoric Spring, a hidden gem nestled just two hours north of Orlando. Since its purchase by new owners in 1993, this captivating underground spring has become a mustvisit destination for adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts alike. Offering an unparalleled snorkeling and diving experience, Devil's Den will transport you to a world untouched by time. As you embark on your journey into the depths of this ancient marvel, prepare to be enchanted by its unique allure. Descending a flight of stairs, you'll find yourself standing at the entrance of the waterway within the cave. Aptly named for the chilly winter mornings when steam would rise from its depths, Devil's Den boasts a constant temperature of 72 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the year, making it an inviting oasis regardless of the season. The spring stretches an impressive 120 feet wide and resembles an inverted mushroom shape, creating a captivating sight that will leave you in awe. Its maximum depth of 54 feet provides an exhilarating challenge for divers, while snorkelers can marvel at the crystal-clear waters and the vibrant life teeming below the surface. Devil's Den is a prime example of a karst cavern, a geological formation formed by the dissolution of soluble rocks like limestone or dolomite. These incredible caves extend far beyond what is safe for divers to explore, reminding us of the untamed wonders that lie beneath our feet. To make the most of your visit, be sure to plan ahead. Devil's Den welcomes visitors from Monday to Thursday, between 9 am and 5 pm, and extends its hours on weekends and holidays from 8 am to 5 pm. Admission for snorkelers is $15 per person on weekdays, while weekends and holidays incur a fee of $20. Scuba divers can access this underwater paradise for $38 per person. If you need gear, snorkeling equipment rental is available for an additional $10, while scuba gear rental costs $40.
