Beyond the screenings at Enzian, the festival expanded its reach to Regal Winter Park Village, offering a packed schedule of films, documentaries, international features, and more. As the festival's reputation continued to soar, so did the volume of submissions, with this year's count reaching a staggering 2,811 films from 101 countries. THE FANTASTICAL MUNDANE: SELECTIONS FROM THE GRASSET-LINARES COLLECTION May 30 - January 5, 2025 at the the Rollins Museum of Arts In the 17th century, the Dutch trade flourished, giving rise to a robust middle class and marking the decline of the patronage system. This shift facilitated the emergence of an art market tailored to the preferences of the new social class, allowing art to adorn private residences. This period of economic prosperity fostered the Dutch Golden Age of painting, characterized by the popularity of still lifes, landscapes, and genre scenes that mirrored the daily life and tastes of the bourgeois society. Displayed in this exhibition are artworks portraying commonplace subjects such

as flowers, fruits, and natural landscapes, radiating with vibrant colors and dynamic compositions that captivate the viewer's attention. These paintings prompt contemplation on the underlying symbolism of everyday objects, touching upon themes of the passage of time, the virtue of moderation, and the abundance of nature. On loan from The Grasset-Linares Collection, the ten paintings showcased encompass traditional Dutch floral arrangements, sumptuous banquet scenes, and intricate landscapes, offering insights into the crystallization of Dutch culture during the 17th century.

"Critical Reading" exhibition probes the fusion of text and image, urging viewers to interpret and engage actively. Featuring contemporary artists like Rirkrit Tiravanija and Fred Tomaselli, it explores language's diverse meanings and the book's dual role as object and narrative medium. Curated by Gisela Carbonell and Prof. Rachel Simmons, it offers diverse perspectives.

WHAT'S NEW? RECENT ACQUISITIONS May 30 - September 1, 2024 at the Rollins Museum of Art The Rollins Museum of Art continuously expands its collection through both generous gifts and strategic acquisitions, enhancing its breadth and diversity. This exhibit highlights recent additions, offering visitors a glimpse of the museum's new treasures shortly after their acquisition. Reflecting the institution's commitment to acquiring works across various media, periods, and cultural backgrounds, the selection aligns with its educational mission and the curriculum of a liberal arts education. These newly acquired pieces may also feature in future themed exhibitions, providing further context and opportunities for exploration. Notable artists included in this rotation are Kate Mosher Hall, Tatsuo Miyajima, and James Siena, among others, showcasing the museum's dedication to embracing a wide range of artistic voices and expressions.

Radiating Wellness DR. NIGMA'S APPROACH TO A YOUTHFUL GLOW & HEALTHY GUT

"Your skin is a mirror to what's happening in your gut." - Dr. Nigma Talib By Josie NeJame

26 | ORLANDOSTYLEMAGAZINE.COM

HEALTH & BEAUTY

With a clientele list that reads like a who's who of Hollywood's elite, Dr. Nigma Talib stands as a beacon of expertise in the realm of naturopathic care. From Sienna Miller to Sofia Vergara, Penelope Cruz to Kate Bosworth, her over 20 years of experience have earned her a reputation for enhancing the luminosity of some of the most recognizable faces in the entertainment industry. At the heart of Dr. Nigma's philosophy lies her groundbreaking book, "Younger Skin in the Gut," which delves deep into the intricate connection between gut health and the aging process. Unlike conventional dermatologists who merely treat symptoms on the surface, Dr. Nigma looks beyond the skin's exterior, delving into the cellular level to identify the root causes of inflammation. Central to Dr. Nigma's approach is her recognition of the profound impact that diet has on skin health. She pinpoints common dietary culprits such as gluten, sugar, dairy, and even wine, elucidating how they wreak havoc not just on the skin but also within the gut. In her view, addressing both the internal and external aspects of health yields the most effective results for her patients. I’ve had the privilege of Dr. Nigma showing me how these foods affect my gut and my skin, and it has become easy for me to tell when I have sugar face or dairy face. I quickly make some dietary adjustments and get back on track with her recommendations. What sets Dr. Nigma apart is her commitment to holistic care, epitomized by her unconventional practice of conducting comprehensive stool tests on all her patients. To her, understanding one's "poop profile" provides invaluable insights into individualized food intolerances and gut health—a sentiment encapsulated by her famous quote, "A problem in your bowels can create jowls." If you have bloating, gas or constipation Dr. Nigma does not recommend eating a salad, as it may be difficult to digest. She does recommend eating the rainbow (steamed), so that the antioxidants will help your cells repair and make your skin glow.

Dr. Nigma categorizes facial manifestations into four distinct types—gluten face, sugar face, dairy face, and wine face—each indicative of underlying dietary imbalances. From puffiness to sagging skin, darkness under the eyes to acne, she interprets these facial cues as reflections of what's happening within the gut. Drawing from her own childhood experiences, Dr. Nigma's holistic approach to wellness finds roots in her grandmother's natural remedies. From turmeric and honey blends to combat sore throats, she learned early on the transformative power of nourishing foods and supplements. Embracing a personalized treatment plan that encompasses effective skincare, topnotch supplements, nourishing foods, and meditation, Dr. Nigma empowers her clients to achieve not just superficial beauty but holistic well-being. As she aptly puts it, "Your skin is a mirror to what's happening in your gut." She also believes that "beauty and wellness are the new fashion," emphasizing the importance of a holistic approach to self-care in today's world.

Kardashian indulges in Dr. Nigma's Vitamin C Cocktail, while Sofia Vergara favors the Beauty Cocktail Collagen Powder. Personally, I have tried all her products and have enjoyed the benefits. My favorite would be Dr. Nigma’s Vitamin C Cocktail, as it’s easy to travel with and tastes great. Through these trusted products, Dr. Nigma extends her transformative touch to anyone seeking to embrace her holistic approach to beauty and wellness. You can find her products at Erewhon, Poosh, Saks Fifth Avenue, healthydoc.com or in her Beverly Hills office. In a world where quick fixes and cosmetic procedures abound, Dr. Nigma Talib's pioneering approach serves as a reminder that true beauty emanates from within. Through her unwavering dedication to holistic care and her profound understanding of the gut-skin connection, she continues to illuminate the path to radiant, youthful skin—one face at a time.

Recognized for her international speaking engagements, Dr. Nigma frequently serves as a keynote speaker at prestigious events like Goop Health and the Business of Fashion conference, where she brings together medical professionals from diverse specialties across the globe. Additionally, her expertise was showcased on Netflix's Goop Lab, where she demonstrated a Microneedling with PRP treatment on Gwyneth Paltrow. Dr. Nigma's influence transcends the red carpet, reaching far beyond the confines of Hollywood's elite. While not everyone may have access to her coveted red carpet facial treatments, her commitment to enhancing beauty shines through her line of science-backed skincare and supplements she created. Countless A-list followers, including Shani Darden, Chrissy Teigen, and Kate Bosworth, swear by 'The Serum.' Chelsea Handler finds rejuvenation in Dr. Nigma's Mask No1, while Rosie Huntington-Whiteley opts for the probiotic benefits of Healthy Flora. Kourtney

UNLOCKING THE POWER OF PLANT-BASED EXOSOMES: A JOURNEY INTO SKIN & HAIR

Restoration Beauty with Nur Med Spa By Maha Chaudhry If you’re someone like myself who gets particularly excited about anything skincare related, then keep reading! We love hearing about new treatments, products, and of course, new med spas…which brings us to Lake Nona’s newest, Nur Med Spa! Since its grand opening in 2024, Nur Med Spa is integrating the latest advancements in skin rejuvenation, including the notable plantbased exosome treatment for restoration. I had the opportunity to chat with Nur Med Spa Owner and Medical Director, Dr. Saima Rafiq, about the magic that takes place behind the scenes when it comes to incorporating plant-based exosome therapy in both skin and hair restoration. And just in case you are wondering what exactly plant-based exosomes are, well, they are pretty great. But here’s the scientific explanation: Plant-derived exosomes are small extracellular vesicles that condense proteins, nucleic acids and lipids. Studies have shown that the content of these exosomes intercede wound repair and also have anti-aging effects, while reducing hyperpigmentation, and signaling pathway for collagen. Turns out, when combined with skin and hair treatments, exosomes create desirable change. Follow along as I dive deeper to understand the many benefits of plantbased exosomes and how exactly they are assimilated in successful treatments,

including those at Nur Med Spa, with the help of Dr. Rafiq.

I understand now that plantbased exosomes are small extracellular vesicles that condense proteins, nucleic acids and lipids, but walk me through the many benefits of using exosomes, and specifically when combined in hair restoration therapy. We Offer THE DE|RIVE HAIR support system which is essentially plant based stem cells that support hair growth by decreasing inflammation, improving hydration and blood flow to the area, while increasing cytokeratin 15 - this is an essential protein responsible for hair growth. The DE|RIVE hair support system has high concentrations of Plant Derived Extracellular Nanoparticle (PDENs). These PDEN’s are essential envelopes that carry messages from cell to cell. These envelopes are loaded with thousands of natural growth factors such as: liposomes, peptides, amino acids, proteins, cytokines, and interleukins specifically directed for anti-inflammation, wound healing, angiogenesis (formation of blood vessels), and for the stimulation of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid production, which essentially leads to

ORLANDOSTYLEMAGAZINE.COM | 29

HEALTH & BEAUTY improving hair follicles and strengthening the bulb responsible for hair growth. The serum is placed by microneedling into the scalp which allows for deeper penetration.

Sounds like the exosomes are packed with power, especially in the realm of collagen and cell turnover, which promote hair follicle growth. What kind of results have you witnessed, and how many sessions do you recommend? Although results vary between patients, we have seen drastic results in as little as one treatment session. Recommended treatment is at least 4 sessions.

I love that the hair restoration treatment, in combination with exosomes, continues to showcase successful results. What advice would you share with anyone who may be considering hair restoration? And when would you say is ideal to start treatment? DE|RIVE hair complex should be started as soon as you notice thinning of your hair. As long as hair follicles are present in the scalp, the treatment can help and work. DE|RIVE is effective on most forms of Alopecia including Androgenic Alopecia, Alopecia Areata (autoimmune) and Post-Covid Alopecia.

In addition to hair restoration treatments, what other treatments do you incorporate the use of exosomes in? We also offer exosomes with our Morpheus8 treatment and microneedling service. The EXO|E line of exosomes are incorporated in these services. EXO|E exosomes are ORGANIC plant stem cells which contain complete composition of the 30 | ORLANDOSTYLEMAGAZINE.COM

universal language of stem cells secretory factors including; liposomes, peptides, nucleic acids, cytokines, and interleukins which all help to heal the skin, increase collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid production.

Let’s talk Morpheus8 for a minute because that’s another treatment trending these days. Would you say that adding exosomes to the treatment has heightened benefits for long-term skin results? And, who makes a good candidate for Morpheus8? Morpheus8 is an advanced radiofrequency (RF) technology combined with microneedling that penetrates deep into the skin, stimulating collagen production and promoting skin tightening. This results in firmer, more youthful-looking skin and improved facial contours, making it a popular choice for those seeking nonsurgical rejuvenation. Exosomes help to regenerate the skin and accelerate the healing process, which is why we combine them with all Morpheus treatments. All clients are great candidates for

Morpheus 8. However, those who have concerns regarding skin tightening, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and scaring would benefit more than others. Overall Morpheus8 is an investment into your own skin and collagen. Results of the treatment are lifelong.

Aside from the DE|RIVE hair restoration treatment and Morpheus8, what other restorative treatments could one experience? And what sets Nur Med Spa apart when it comes to the integration of restoration techniques within each treatment? We also offer other treatments such as Vitamin supplementation which help with over all improvement in health and energy. At Nur Med Spa our services are all extensively researched by myself, the owner/founder and medical director who is on staff. My love for science and evidencebased medicine has always been my number one priority. I do not recommend any services that do not provide results or improve patient outcome.

HEALTH & BEAUTY

For our Orlando Style Readers Nur Med Spa is known to customize individual treatment plans for all their clients, and their goal is to provide the best service and care. From now until June 4, 2024, use code Orlando Style when purchasing a Derive Hair restoration package and receive $500 off, or $300 off when purchasing a Morpheus8 package.

"Smooth, Carefree Skin for Summer: Embrace Waxing for Long-lasting Results" By Omayra La Bella

34 | STYLETOME.COM

BEAUTY

GET READY FOR WITH

SUMMER!

Professional Waxing

Mother’s Day is quickly approaching and with it comes the warmer weather, so get outside and enjoy the sunshine. Before long, you will be able to reveal that skin you have been hiding all winter. Now is the perfect time to consider your options for getting rid of unwanted hair so you can enjoy smooth, silky skin throughout the summer months. One of my most effective and affordable ways to achieve this is by waxing. We all have tried shaving, it feels like you need touch-ups all the time, thus it is both time-consuming and ineffective. Shaving simply gets rid of the hair on the surface, which means that hair grows back quickly, and all its roots remain. Did you know if you spend 30 minutes shaving twice a week that ends up being 48 hours a year? If you switch to waxing, that time goes down to 6 hours a year (a wax takes up to 30 minutes). You get around 88% of your time back! I know my time is valuable, so I choose a quick process with fast results, every time! With mixed results, I have also tried hair removal lotions and gels (thumbs down). The components tend to irritate my skin, and they are not particularly effective, waxing is the ideal remedy. Waxing eliminates hair at the root, which means that before hair can return, the entire hair follicle must regenerate, which takes longer than when hair is trimmed at the surface. With the warmer season, comes bikini waxing. Unwanted hair around the bikini line is removed during bikini waxing, leaving nothing visible below the panty line while preventing any hair from poking out the

sides. For extremely tiny bikinis or if you simply prefer that smooth, hair-free feeling, a thorough waxing of the bikini area goes a bit farther, leaving only a strip or tiny triangle of hair in the area. Going one step beyond and my personal favorite type of waxing, is a Brazilian wax which eliminates all hair from the belly button down to the back, leaving the front entirely hair-free. These three choices all look fantastic during bikini season. How about giving the gift of waxing to those special ladies in our lives for Mother’s Day? I know I have already hinted that I want a gift certificate for a waxing because of all its great benefits: Long-lasting Results: The key advantage of waxing is that it produces long-lasting results, especially in the summer. Waxing eliminates hair from the root, as opposed to shaving, which merely removes hair from the surface. It can take weeks for the hair to reappear because of this delayed growing process. This durability guarantees that you will not need to get touch-ups done too often and you can proudly show off your flawless skin for the whole summer, which is one of my main reasons I personally wax. Efficiency and Convenience: The effectiveness and convenience of waxing makes it a smart choice. Larger areas of hair removal, including the legs, arms, back, or bikini line, can be done in a single session with waxing. Furthermore, waxing saves time because it lessens the need for regular shaving, giving you more time to enjoy the season’s abundance of sunshine.

Exfoliation and Skin Enhancement: In addition to eliminating unwanted hair, waxing exfoliates my skin naturally, leaving it feeling refreshed and smooth. The wax promotes cell regeneration and a radiant, new complexion by gently removing dead skin cells when it is applied and removed. Ingrown hairs are another issue that exfoliation helps to avoid. Waxing reduces the likelihood of hair being caught beneath the surface by removing the layer of dead skin cells, enabling your skin to breathe and stay clear of imperfections. Summer waxing presents an ideal solution for achieving smooth, carefree skin during the season. Its long-lasting results, efficiency, exfoliating benefits, and minimal maintenance make it an attractive choice for me and those of you seeking a hair removal method that can keep up with your summer! My “go to spot” for all my waxing, I highly recommend is: ZERA HAUS, they offer specialized services to keep your skin glowing and smooth such as: Brazilian Waxing, Vajacials, Full Body Waxing, and Brow Shaping (tinting, lamination). ZERA HAUS is in the SODO area of Orlando, at 2728 S. Fern Creek Ave, Orlando 32806 You can follow them on Instagram: @zerahaus_ Phone number 407-308-2942 Website: www.zerahaus.com

Ways to Get a Natural Boost with Serotonin

Sometimes, you have to pay for wellness in the form of spa visits and yoga retreats, and sometimes, you can get it absolutely free. Who doesn’t like the sound of that? And, I think most would agree that naturally boosting their wellbeing and happiness is something worth integrating.

By Maha Chaudhry

Let’s talk about our joyful companion, Serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter, a chemical messenger in the brain and body, that plays a crucial role in various physiological processes, including mood regulation, appetite, sleep, and cognition. It is often referred to as the “feel-good” neurotransmitter due to its role in promoting feelings of well-being and happiness. So, how do you get a boost of energy, joy and wellbeing with serotonin naturally? Read along, as we have five ways you can use and begin right now. 1. Social Therapy There is nothing like human (real-time) connection. YOU don’t have to be in a group environment to be social, all it takes is one other individual, essentially, good company. If you can surround yourself with people who make you laugh, even better. Laughter is medicine for the soul. Honorary mention: Animals! Have a pet? Studies have shown petting, hugging and spending time with a pet can increase serotonin levels and decrease the percentage of cardiovascular disease. So, hug your pet longer, or spend time with someone else’s! 2. Gratitude Gratitude is the guru of all good, and in this case, happiness. You can practice gratitude with a journal, affirmation, or just simple verbal acknowledgement of all the good in your life, and all that you are grateful for today and every day. 3. Sunshine My friends, you are in the right place for sunshine so do make the most of it. The sun gives us vitamin

D, and also vitamin Happiness. The exposure of sunlight can stimulate the production of serotonin in the brain. So, spend some time in the sun, especially during the morning hours, to help regulate your serotonin levels and improve mood. 4. Sleep And not just sleep, but adequate, restful, blissful, peaceful sleep. You need it, and your mood depends on it (so do your hormones). Aim to sleep for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night to support overall health and mood. 5. ‘ME’ time Taking the time daily to do something that brings you joy, whether it is reading a book, practicing mindfulness and mediation, exercising, taking a long bath, or whatever that might be, is essential to wellness, and correlated to serotonin levels. No matter how busy your day is, pencil in “me time.” All it takes is less than an hour to promote a sense of calm and contentment. There you have it! A simple practical list of ways you can incorporate serotonin benefits in your day-today routine. Disclaimer: While these strategies can help boost serotonin levels naturally, individuals experiencing symptoms of severe depression or other mood disorders should consult a healthcare professional for proper evaluation and treatment. In some cases, medication or other therapeutic interventions may be necessary to effectively manage serotonin imbalances.

CELEBRITY SOUP

When

HOLLYWOOD Stars Lend A Hand

These stand-up actors have gone above and beyond to help their fellow stars behind-the-scenes By Riesa Pascal

54 | STYLETOME.COM

CELEBRITY SOUP

There’s a reason why entertainment media outlets love to focus on the drama that goes on behind-thescenes of our favorite television sitcoms and films. All you have to do is flip open any tabloid or turn on the latest TMZ episode to know that celebrity conflicts sell, but what about those feel-good stories of Hollywood stars lending a helping hand to one another? Here at Style Magazines, we believe those actors who’ve shown incredible acts of kindness on and off set also deserve a little recognition!

Sarah Paulson Before he was protecting Grogu in The Mandalorian or saving the world from a fungi-based apocalypse in The Last of Us, Pedro Pascal was nothing more than your average struggling actor. In the early 1990s, Pascal met and developed a close friendship with fellow actor, Sarah Paulson and they both worked hard for years to make a name for themselves in New York. In an interview with Esquire, Paulson recalled days where Pascal was struggling to secure a role and make ends meet, which led to Paulson giving him her per diems from acting jobs so he could have money to feed himself. Mark Wahlberg From what feels like the dawn of time, there have always been pay discrepancies between men and women. Nowhere is that more evident than in Tinseltown where actors like Mark Wahlberg made $1.5 million for reshoots of the 2017 film All the Money in the World, while his costar Michelle Williams made only $1,000 or approximately $80 per day. Luckily Wahlberg also saw the unfairness of the situation and ended up donating the difference in their pay to the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund in Williams’s name in order to help her lawsuit for equal pay. Francia Raisa There’s an old saying that “money can’t buy you health” and one person who I believe would strongly agree with this statement is Selena Gomez. In spite of her immense wealth, Gomez has lived for decades with the autoimmune disease lupus and in 2017, her health

complications led her to need a kidney transplant. Gomez didn’t think it was fair to ask someone to donate a kidney to her, but her best friend, roommate and fellow actor Francia Raisa had other ideas. Rather than wait for Gomez to ask, Raisa took the burden upon herself to find out if she was a match and voluntarily donated one of her kidneys to the pop star. Fred Astaire If you haven’t watched the iconic film Singin’ in the Rain, then you are missing out! The 1952 musical comedy is known for its unforgettable songs and exuberant dance numbers. During production of the film, it is reported that Debbie Reynolds thought Gene Kelly was very hard on her. As the film’s star, co-director and a professional dancer, Kelly’s harshness stemmed from the fact that 19-year-old Reynolds had no dancing experience and found it difficult to keep up with the other dancers. Reynolds recalled a moment in her memoir where she broke down sobbing after dancing for eight hours a day nonstop. Fortunately, famous dancer Fred Astaire was nearby and came to her rescue. Astaire, who was in the studio to prepare for Royal Wedding, invited Reynolds to watch his rehearsal in hopes it would help her to learn. She credited his encouragement and advice with helping her finally master the moves for Singin’ in the Rain. Keanu Reeves It may seem like actors have the ability to cry on command, but that isn’t always the case! While filming the 1992 movie Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Winona

Ryder was supposed to cry during a scene in which Dracula turned into a pile of rats. Director Francis Ford Coppola wanted Ryder to act more shocked and emotional, but she was having difficulty trying to get herself to cry. His solution? Coppola started yelling insults and tried to get other cast members to join in on yelling things that would hurt Ryder’s feelings enough for her to cry, but her co-star Keanu Reeves refused to say anything mean. Unsurprisingly, she and Reeves ended up forming a close friendship that has lasted for more than 30 years since. Robin Williams One of my favorite movies growing up was Jumanji and one of the most iconic moments of the award-winning 1995 film was the incredibly intricate monsoon scene. In order to get everything done quicker, producers asked the child actors’ families if they would be willing to film for longer hours. Filming multiple scenes in one day naturally saved money, but it also added intense pressure on the already exhausted kids. One of the children, Bradley Pierce, recalled in an interview that Williams always made sure the kids were never overworked. He spoke of one instance in which Williams pulled the director and producers aside and said, “No, we’re not doing any extra time. You’re gonna let everyone out of the pool now and we’re going to come back next week.” I doubt anyone needed another reason to love the late Robin Williams, but now you have one anyways!

COLYNN O’BRIEN Iluma Law Firm, PLLC Colynn’s journey into law has been fueled by a desire to make a meaningful impact, inspired by the strong women in her life who faced challenges. As the eldest of eight siblings and now a mom herself, Colynn has experienced firsthand the distinct challenges women still face every day. This has ignited a deep-seated passion within her to advocate for women’s autonomy.

Law Firm offers comprehensive services tailored specifically for women-owned businesses.

This passion for supporting women led her to identify a crucial gap in the support network for women-owned businesses, which led her to start Iluma Law Firm with the aim of empowering female entrepreneurs to protect their businesses and assets effectively.

At Iluma Law Firm, the focus is on providing “donefor-you” business, brand, and asset protection and planning services. This includes a range of services such as strategic legal planning services, trademarks, copyrights, contract review and drafting, business formation, and website compliance services, all designed to meet the unique needs of female entrepreneurs. The ultimate goal is to empower women to scale their businesses without being consumed by legal concerns, allowing them to focus on their growth and success.

The landscape for women in business has evolved, with more women at the helm of successful companies. However, Colynn recognized that many women-owned businesses lack the necessary legal protections, leaving them vulnerable to potential risks and mistakes that could jeopardize their future. With the mission of bridging this gap in support, Iluma

Colynn’s dedication to this mission is evident in the foundation and ethos of Iluma Law Firm, PLLC. By providing legal support, guidance, and a community for their clients, Colynn and the firm aim to ensure that women-owned businesses can thrive, equipped with the necessary safeguards to navigate the complexities of the business world confidently.

REBECCA L. PALMER, P.A. Family Law Attorney Rebecca L. Palmer Celebrates 30 Years of Legal Excellence and Dedication to Equality Rebecca Palmer knows family law—and she knows what clients deserve! Renowned for her winning personality and successful case outcomes, Rebecca celebrates 30 years since graduating from Stetson University College of Law and seven years since founding the Rebecca L. Palmer Law Group. Throughout her 30 years of legal service, she has been awarded by her peers “Orlando Best Lawyer” and rated as a “Super Lawyer” for family law. Rebecca has consistently applied a compassionate approach in her family and marital law practice, supporting clients through some of their most difficult and trying times. In her three decades of practice, Rebecca has remained dedicated to the pursuit of a just resolution for her clients that aligns with their goals. Rebecca’s clients continually praise her for her empathy and grace under pressure—describing her as a coach and friend as much

Dedicated to making a positive difference, Rebecca maintains a devotion to gender equality and a mission to uplift and foster greater opportunity in the legal sphere. A lawyer’s best asset is the quality of their work, not their gender or race, and Rebecca works toward a future where attorneys are judged on their ability to make a difference versus their individual attributes. A pillar of her community, Rebecca has served as President of the Central Florida Association of Women and adjunct professor of Legal Ethics, Business Law, Trial Techniques, and Family Law at the University of Central Florida, Stetson University, Barry University, and Southern College. She is a published author and speaker who has appeared frequently on Fox 35 News Orlando.

COLLEEN TUOHY FLEMING Attorney Colleen Tuohy Fleming’s passion in life is helping people achieve justice. Even before she became an attorney, Colleen knew she wanted to help people. After graduating from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts, she joined the AmeriCorps Water Watch Program. Colleen devoted herself to helping clean up Massachusetts’s waterways and ensuring that all Massachusetts citizens had clean water. After working for AmeriCorps, Colleen was certain that she wanted to dedicate her life to serving her community, so she decided to go to law school. She relocated to Florida and earned her Juris Doctorate from Florida State University in 2008. Upon graduation, Colleen moved to the Central Florida area. She joined Orlando’s Office of the Public Defender where she tried over 60 trials ranging from misdemeanors to capital felonies and

defended indigent citizens against the government. She climbed the ranks at the Office of the Public Defender and was eventually promoted to a lead attorney. As a lead attorney, Colleen primarily handled serious felony cases where many of her clients faced life in prison.
