Editor’s Notes It’s so hard.... to say goodbye.... to yesterday...... Saying goodbye is always hard. Wait? What??? No more SF?!?! Of course not, silly! Have no fear, SF is here to STAY. I’m referring, of course, to dear old Sims 3. I have to say, this has been my favorite version of the Sims to date. Sims 4 has a steep standard to live up to. But, after some gameplay, all I can say is… hopes are high. Well done EA. Looking ahead, SF will continue to feature Sims 3 content in addition to Sims 4! We’ll gradually be making the shift to all Sims 4 as more and more content becomes available. Going forward, more than ever, look to us to bring you the hottest looks and décor ideas to bring your life simulator to… well… life.
We do want to give a special shout-out to our girl Sim Eve who makes a mind-blowing return with her ultra fab “Street Credible.” A special thanks to Riccinumbers and Momo who created all new content for this issue. But for now? Ahhh yes. This issue is near and dear to my heart. We’ve themed Issue 26 as a tribute to The Sims 3 (you may have figured that from the cover). Every shoot and editorial is planned around a Sims 3 Trait, Ambition, or Lifetime Wish with a few Career and Lifetime Reward features thrown in for good measure. We’ve had so much fun putting this together. A metric ton of thought and creativity has gone into this one. I can’t pick a highlight. It’s just too good!!!

Great Dane This handsome, elegant dog comes in a variety of striking colours. Used as a hunting dog in the pursuit of wild boar, the Dane has been the national dog of Germany since 1876.

German Shepherd Arguably the most popular breed worldwide, the Shepherd, as he is known to most people, provokes fiercer loyalties in enthusiasts’ hearts than virtually any other breed.

Dachshund (Smooth-Haired) The origins of the Dachshund can be traced back to working dogs that could go to ground after game such as badgers and rabbits, or to track fallen/wounded deer.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel The origins of this toy spaniel are a little hazy, but he certainly has a history going back several centuries, although he did not secure Kennel Club status until 1944, having been revived as a breed separate from the King Charles Spaniel.

Mastiff The Mastiff has been in existence for many hundreds of years, though not in exactly the form we know it today. The breed has played its part in history since well before the Battle of Agincourt, in the early fifteenth century, when accounts tell of its courage and guarding instincts.

o m o caught our eye last year on a random CC binge. We keep coming back because his creations are so fresh, fun and above all, original. The hair retextures are, frankly, drool worthy. You won’t find much out there like momo. And that’s a very good thing. Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with us. Please tell us a bit about yourself. It’s such an honor to be part of SF Magazine! I have to say, my heart nearly stopped when you contacted me. Anyway, I’m Momo, actually the real name is Jordan, and I’m the creator behind momosims. I’m currently 17 years old and I’m an active male simmer in the Sims community on Tumblr, Facebook, and

Your creations are so quirky and fun. How would you describe your personal style? My personal style is a bit confusing because it ranges. I love fashion in its entirety so I’m always open to a variety of styles. I create clothes from Korean fashion to seapunk fashion. If I have to pinpoint one consistency in all of my designs, it might be that I make everything colorful and bright. I like my work to be vivid. What inspired you to create for the Sims? What keeps you going? It was about two years ago when I first joined the Sims community on tumblr. I remember being amazed by the creators and the work they produced. I’d say they’re the ones who inspired me, as I always looked up to them and wished to have the ability to create. Today, I still push myself to learn new creating methods. I don’t think there’s a climax to learning. I try to better myself every day. Tell us about your creative process? Where do you get your ideas? Most of my inspiration derives from current fashion. I check out sites like dollskill, fashion2any, lookbook, nastygal, Zara. I like to mix and match clothing to make something new. Most of my work ends up looking
like K fashion.
What would you say are some of the joys of creating for the Sims Community? What are some of the challenges? One of the great things about the Sims community is the amount of fans, followers, and friends I’ve developed over time. When people download my content, it motivates me t continue sharing. It’s definitely confidence boost. But in everythi you do, there are always those w try to drag you down. Not everyo will appreciate what you do. Thou it’s a challenge to face unwelcom hate, I’d say it’s important too. I’ learned to rise above it. I think I’m better creator because of it.
What advice would you offer aspiring creators? With so many helpful tutorials we have, creating is a lot easier. I feel like some Simmers may be a little thrown off to start creating (or even share their pictures) because of the amount of

In closing, as a lover of the game, what do you hope to see in the future in the Sims and the Sims Community as a whole? The quality of custom content for the game today is phenomenal. It’s a major improvement from creation development back in 2009. I hope we get to see major changes in Sims 4 like we did with Sims 2 and Sims 3. I also hope EA supports us creators in the future, making creating an easier experience.
What do you think of the upcoming release of The Sims 4? Will you continue to create for The Sims 4? Why? Why not? Personally, I’m a little upset with the amount of key features EA has taken away. However, that’s not going to stop me from trying. I’ll be giving Sims 4 a chance and we’ll see from there. It will be a whole new challenge, and I like challenges.

weight but you were feeling the best you’d ever felt. I LOVE that! It’s such a radical position for a model/musician to take. What brought you to that point? Yes, I did gain weight a few months ago, and I was actually so happy about it. People absolutely need to stop seeing weight gain as a bad thing, as long as it remains healthy, of course. But yes, I always accepted my body changing, because being good in your skin shouldn’t just be about how much you weigh. Human beauty is so much more than that, and it makes me sad to realize that so many people don’t see it. I personally don’t like being too slim. I love my curves and they make me feel beautiful. You have only one body for your lifetime, so I just think you have to embrace it and work on what makes you the most happy about it.
Cassidy, thank you so much for joining us. My goodness, even at this ungodly hour, you look stunning! What’s your secret, girl? Why thank you, you look fabulous, too my dear! You know I think my only secret is probably my skin. I’m obsessed with having good skin. I wash my face every morning and every night before going to bed and then I use a regenerating serum. I’m not complicated though. I could look like a troll, but if I have my skin on point, there I go baby, I got no fears! *Laugh* Looking at you and your boo I actually feel hope for true love and soul mates. And the You mentioned you had gained some twins! Living dolls!!! How do you juggle all

these different modes of Cassidy? Thank you. *Smile* I think the secret is to completely seperate work from personal life. Who I am when I work and who I am when I get home are quite different. When I get home, I am just like the girl next door. I’m walking around barefoot with my hair all messy and you know, it makes me feel as fabulous as when I’m performing. *laugh*

being too slim. I love my curves and they make me feel beautiful.” What advice do you have for those aspiring divas out there? Success needs a lot lot lot of ambition, motivation and will. You know people are always saying ‘’Believe in your dreams and they’ll happen’’. Believing is great, but people need to be fearless and just break the doors! As crazy as it seems. You have to try over and over. Even when it’s not working and you get refused and get negativity -because it will happen, and

often- You just have to use that negative energy and transform it into something much better. Dreams unfortunately don’t happen for everyone, so you have to work HARD and make it happen for you. And now our audience is burning to know, what’s next for you Cassidy? I wish I could answer that question better than I always do. But I am always just going one day at a time. I’m a little
unpredictable, if I can say. I just like to take things step by step, think, analyze, decide what would be good and what wouldn’t. On the other hand, sometimes I just don’t even think and take the risk and if it works, it works, but if it doesn’t I’ll just pick myself up and do better next time. I can definitely say that I’m here to stay and I love what I do, everyday. It makes me happy. I know it makes other people happy. And that’s just the way I wanna live my life until my last breath.

REEL REVIEWS Is Life Really A Beach? An afternoon with Distinguished Director and Life’s A Beach producer Echo better known as TwistTVShow. MARK STONE:
Everyone seems to be in love with your Sims machinima series, Life’s a Beach. Please tell us briefly about the concept and what inspired you to create it?
TWIST
Oh my gosh, I still can’t believe how far this series has come, haha! Life’s A Beach is about an ex-model named Skye who leaves her hometown to live on the shoreline, away from anyone who might recognise her as a celebrity. But she learns that reality is actually REALLY harsh and, well, haha, that life is in fact a “beach”! Honestly, when it comes to inspiration, I really can’t relate to Skye at ALL. I’m not super famous, I’m not a model, and I haven’t even BEEN to college yet, let alone graduating. I guess it’s just my imagination at work! When I first created the show, I wanted to make something fun (yet relatable) for the audience, tied to more realistic events and drama. Though I do end up creating some worse case scenarios, don’t I....

mentality. What experiences have you been through to develop this without being too personal?

But yeah, I assume it’s because I spend a lot of time in my own mind, analysing reality and questioning every little detail I learn.

So we know that season 2 of “Life‘s A Beach” has started. Please tell our readers about the storyline and what we can expect different from season 2?

Season 2! Season 2! I’m as excited as everyone else, ahaha :D I’ve mentioned this somewhere in the Internet before, but I’m focusing Season 2 more so on each character instead of just Skye. There’s a lot of interest in all of the supporting characters, so I wanted to give them some character
I know that you also have a band that you’ve created for the Sims International Film Festival’s Battle Of The Bands and they will be in Sims Fest. Tell us more about the members and their music?

Yes yes I do, ahh, and I love them!! The band of mine that will be participating is called “Dissonance”!! I really love cinematic and dream-like, neoclassical music like Olafur Arnalds (*fangirl screech*), Emancipator (*fangirl squeal*), and The Secession (*fangirl explosion*), so that’s what kind of music they preform! I wanted to bring something new to BOTB, so their story is very different as well! The members are 22-year old Wolfram Grey and 18-year old Sara Hale, both who have very serious disabilities. Sara has an acute form of leukemia, and Wolfram is completely blind in both eyes. However, both share a passion for music, and wish for nothing more than to share their songs with the world! They are disabled, yet able!

We are both writing, casting, filming, and editing the machinima, which will be a short film at least 30 minutes long. It isn’t set to any kind of music, at all, although I WILL be introducing a short, original composition of mine just for the intro of the film. The movie is called “Afterlife”!! It will be published on my channel on September 15th, but you can also follow Dice’s channel (ApocalypticDogFilms) for promos, trailers, and sneak peeks!

Thank you so much, I’m flattered. Besides keeping PRIDE going and launching 723, I do have plans for the future... I plan on ending Life’s A Beach after Season 2 (dear GOD I am NOT PREPARED FOR ALL THE RAGE and SORROW--)...but THEN! I will launch a new series as a SPIN-OFF from Life’s A Beach, with Ezra and Conley as ADULTS as the main characters! It doesn’t quite have a name yet, but I’m thinking of letting my fanily decide! So far, all I’ve got is “Find A Way” ...but there are WAY too many Sims series with “Find” in the title ... Maybe I’ll just use another Life pun....
Don’t make machinima for fans or views. Use your filmmaking as a way to tell a story or release your creative energy! If you want to make a show or movie just so everyone loves you and watches your stuff, then it’ll be extremely crappy, and you’ll get the exact OPPOSITE of what you want. Personally, I make my series and movies because I love making people happy. When I hit 100 subscribers, I was the happiest person on Earth. I never dreamed that I would be noticed by so many people, and now one of my biggest fears isn’t losing subscribers or views--it’s letting people down. So that’s why I continue to work my hardest to please and give my viewers what they want. Hence the term “fanily”--it just feels so wrong calling you crazies “fans.” You guys mean way too much to me. hank you so much for speaking with us! You know I’m one of your biggest fans, and I’m thrilled that we all have the opportunity to get to know you better. For readers who may not know you, tell us a bit about yourself. Thank you, Bill! It’s a real honor for me to be appearing on these pages, as it is speaking with you. Anyway, my name is Federico, I’m 47, and I live in Italy in a small village between the mountains and the forests of Fiemme Valley, in Trentino. When did you first start playing The Sims series, and what are your favorite aspects of the game? I started playing The Sims back in 2000, and it was love at first sight! Back then, I wasn’t really a video game lover, but became one immediately. I still have the complete collection of the first Sims series religiously placed in my desk drawer. However, I never fell in love with The Sims 2. I don’t know why: maybe because of its graphics--not exactly exciting-or because of the anorexic look of the Sims. Anyway, I played with the first series until the release of The Sims 3. That was for me a real revelation! Finally, I could satisfy my passion for building with almost the same results of real CAD software.
When I first saw your work, I remember thinking to myself, “This guy must be a professional.” Do you have a background in architecture,art, or design, or is this all just a hobby? Ha! You’ve guessed it! I work in a small architect studio, and my job consists of making architectural designs, mostly of small residential or holiday houses (the valley in which I live is a well-renowned tourist place). What is your favorite style of architecture and design? Unlike what I draw normally at work (mostly in pseudo-Tyrolean style, or very traditional houses, anyway), I really love modern architecture and contemporary design. What is your favorite aspect of building--the architecture, landscaping, interior design, or just playing the lot when it’s finally done? What are your greatest challenges when building? Oh my, this question made me self-conscious right now that I never play with my own buildings! It’s strange, I have not ever realized it before. I usually place my Sims in a pre made house, adapting it while playing based on their needs. Anyway, I proceed in this way: first of all, I build the external structure, completing both architecture and landscape, and saving for last all of the internal design, which is for me the most laborious and demanding thing. It requires me even an entire day to decorate and furnish just a plain room! How do you design your builds? Do you sketch them out beforehand? From where do you draw your inspiration? Do you get your ideas from particular real-life homes and buildings or do your ideas just come to mind when you go into “Build Mode”? I have built a few houses based on real-life buildings, but usually I like to work starting from scratch. I often will put a sketch on paper of my starting idea. Then, I try to adapt it to the limits of the game, preparing a real project. Finally, I start building, and very often, the final result...is completely different from the original idea!

Among my preferred builders from the official Forum, those that stand out include eStyle36, Domangcop and--although with a style completely different from mine--Susanna827. Almost all of their houses and lots are included
Are there new projects on the horizon for you?
I don’t know if there is a real proportion. When I start to build something, all my playing time is dedicated to the completion of the lot. earning is an adventure at Bright Beginnings School and Daycare where teachers refer to themselves as “guides,” and children explore the world around them at their own pace. Founded by pediatrician and child advocate Julia Fowlkes in 1983, Bright Beginnings’ approach to education hinges on the interconnectedness of all living things and the need for everyone to discover a meaningful purpose. Children explore cultures, nature, and nutrition while developing their reading, language, and mathematical skills. Housed in Fowlkes’ stately Victorian manor on Bank Street, the school is designed in a rich spectrum of colors, textures, and patterns aimed at stimulating young minds. But learning at Bright Beginnings encompasses all five senses. A typi-

cal day might consist of gathering autumn leaves, sewing buttons on fabric, squeezing fresh orange juice, sounding out the Simlish alphabet, and building a miniature log cabin. Or it may focus, instead, on observing the life cycles of butterflies, eating with chopsticks, naming the countries in Africa, and putting on a puppet show. The sky is literally the limits for children as each day becomes an opportunity to chart new learning missions and adventures. “Just yesterday morning,” guide Samantha Brewer recalls, “I had one child using the color wheel to decorate miniature rooms, another naming the different birds native to Appaloosa Plains, and yet another writing numbers up to 357 for the first time on a roll of receipt paper. Children always leave here with a sense of accomplishment, selfworth, and belonging in this world.”

Well, that’s a rather complicated question. I tend to change my inspirations from time to time as I get bored making one style. I like doing the Ikea for downloaders as they seem to really enjoy Ikea things for their Sims games. Currently, I am just in awe of Machinima Makers, and after watching so many wonderful videos, I am tending to steer toward things they may want to use. I love collaborating with artists of all types, so my inspiration tends to flow in that direction.

What advice do you have for those considering delving into the world of custom content creation?
Make sure you have the time to commit to it. It takes a lot of concentration and Walk me through your creative process. work to get it right. Not many people

stick with it once they say they want to learn. In my experience only 1 out of 10 people that want to create make it through their first set and stick with it. They get frustrated and disappointed in the learning process, but to be honest anyone can learn if they want to. Pick one thing to create, clothes, or objects, or lots etc ONE thing and concentrate on that. Jumping creation types makes it harder to get good at it when you are starting out. You can branch out later. How much time would you say that you spend creating for the game versus playing it?
Oh, I’m REALLY excited for The Sims 4! The creative possibilities will be endless. I really can’t wait to get the game. It’s hard to say what I hope they’ll add until I actually play it. I never had patience for toddlers and was never a legacy player, so I’m really not bothered by those things not being there. I cheat and age them up anyway. I will, of course, be creating for The Sims 4. It will be a new challenge, and I love a challenge.
