LEADING US IN PRAYER FOR THE NEW YEAR Jeanne Williams, an active Deacon and Sanctuary Choir Vice-President, joined Second-Ponce in 2007. She immediately began singing with our music ministry including the Sounds of Faith vocal ensemble. In addition to using her musical gifts, Jeanne, a Business Systems Analyst, has served on our Elizabeth Grisham Brown Fund committee. When not at Second-Ponce, she enjoys reading, solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles and singing with Voices of Love (an Atlanta chapter of Threshold Choir International).

January 21 Sermon: Did Paul Get This One Wrong? Preacher: Dr. Dock Hollingsworth Scripture: I Corinthians 7:29–31 Notes: Paul declares that the days are short and that “the present form of this world is passing away”. More than 2,000 years have passed. Did Paul get this wrong? Paul encourages these early believers to lift their eyes and measure their living with a Kingdom perspective. January 28 Sermon: Authority or Hobby? Preacher: Dr. Dock Hollingsworth Scripture: Mark 1:21–28 Notes: Jesus is teaching in the synagogue when a man with an unclean spirit cries out. Jesus commands the unclean spirit to come out of him. He speaks in his teaching and in his miracle, as one with authority. Does Jesus have this authority over us?
