Elena Urioste and Tom Poster both enjoy busy international careers as soloists and chamber musicians, appearing in concerto performances with the world’s great orchestras, as co-founders of Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective, and as a highly successful duo. Their wide-ranging programme takes us on a journey from the lyricism of Mozart to the glorious romanticism of Le Beau and Strauss, via cosy miniatures by Fritz Kreisler and a selection of Tom’s popular arrangements from #UriPosteJukeBox.

Join the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Manoj Kamps for an evening of sparkling music. Opening with Wagner’s ethereal Prelude to Lohengrin, which magically depicts the Holy Grail descending from Heaven to earth. Pianist Federico Colli then joins the Orchestra for Rachmaninov’s nimble ode to what has to be one of the most recognisable themes of the repertoire. The evening concludes with one of Brahms’ greatest musical achievements, immersing the audience in inspired orchestration, a devastatingly powerful Adagio and a triumphant finale.

United Strings of Europe creates profound musical experiences that celebrate diversity and bridge cultural divides. Bringing together players from across Europe, the group is led by Artistic Director Julian Azkoul. With a focus on new commissions and unique arrangements of music from a variety of cultures, their playing is acclaimed as ‘virtuosically expressive’ (The Times).
Combining Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Piazzolla’s Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, this programme sees members of the ensemble share solo parts and, in some cases, even switch instruments. A hugely entertaining concert that is sure to delight audiences.

According to a recent review on BBC Radio 3, Onyx Brass is a “wonderful, virtuosic brass quintet.” Celebrating their 30th Birthday in 2023, they have changed audience perceptions of what the brass ensemble is. Equally at home commissioning new music to performing the classics, or directing workshops in primary schools to delivering masterclasses at The Julliard School, Onyx Brass is truly the brass ensemble of its generation.

Back by popular demand, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra presents a fun and interactive performance filled with all the noise, commotion and excitement of a symphony orchestra. This concert – organised by RPO Resound (the Orchestra’s Community and Education department) - provides an excellent introduction to classical music, with a selection of well-known tunes and themes from orchestral favourites presented in a fun and engaging way.

After opening with a real rarity; the ravishing prelude to Delius’ forgotten fairytale opera Irmelin, we are delighted to welcome violinist Chlöe Hanslip back to The Hexagon, to perform a work full of fire and ferocity, both soloist and orchestra have the chance to dazzle in one of the most enduring concertos of the violin repertoire.
Sibelius thought of his Second Symphony as a great river flowing to the sea, others have heard a musical portrait of a nation waking to freedom. But from pastoral beginnings to a soul-stirring finish, it is music of elemental power, spring-like freshness and truly epic grandeur.

One of the most versatile and original cellists of his generation, Adrian Brendel has travelled the world as soloist, collaborator and teacher. Adrian first studied the cello with William Pleeth and went on to study with Alexander Baillie and Frans Helmerson in London and Cologne.
Scottish pianist Alasdair Beatson is renowned as a sincere musician and intrepid programmer. He champions a wide repertoire with particular areas of interest being classical, early romantic and French music (especially Fauré), alongside the music of today’s composers.
