Jennifer Paola Salgado Pizarro

I

was born and raised in Puerto Rico. Between my lovely parents, I have 3 amazing brothers. I was born deaf and unable to speak. When I was a child, the doctors did not become aware of this situation until I was 5 years old. After several surgeries, I began to hear, but had speech problems. The doctors referred me to speech therapist. I attended several speech sessions, but for different reasons I wasn’t able to attend as frequent as I needed. When I was 5 years old, my parents introduced me to modeling classes in Puerto Rico. Even though my mother wasn’t a model herself, she was a big fan of it. She thought that modeling could be very beneficial for me especially with my self-esteem for my development and my future. My parents often entered me in many modeling contest and competitions where I was able to win various trophies and medals. This also gave me the opportunity to travel to Dominican Republic, New York, California, and Florida. Since then, modeling has become my passion and hope for my future.

8

Apart of modeling being my passion, I would like others to get to know me in the world of fashion and modeling in different parts of the United States especially in Los Angeles and New York. Even though I do have some disabilities, I know I can overcome them and show to the world that anything is possible. I want the world to know whatever happened in my life there is always hope. Nowadays, I know and I believe in a living God, not in my family’s faith but in my own. God has given me a new family with my aunt and uncle who I love like my second set of parents and my cousins who I see and love them as my own siblings. In Houston, I have my modelling career and the support of many designers, models, among others. I also have a community in my church that support me in any way they can. I know all that has happen in my life was God’s perfect will to give me the life I have and for me to feel happy. I realize He has always been protecting me and leading my way. Without Him, I wouldn’t be where I am now and I am very thankful for that and much more.

2017 Winner

Jules Palton

TO MANY PEOPLE, I GO BY JUE’LZ, BUT MY NAME IS JULES PALTON. 26 YEARS OF AGE, I graduated in December 2015, from Texas Southern University with my Bachelor’s degree in Art studying broadcast journalism. My goal was to pursue a career as a TV host, a news anchorman or just a media reporter from ESPN to interviewing people for the Grammy’s. Life happened and it became so hard to find an actual career in my field, even with my experience. I continued to pursue my career in entertainment as an actor and a model where it all started for me as a kid. I got my first major print ads with Weiner’s and Foley’s as well as being the face of the billboard for a First Colony neighborhood in Sugarland, TX. My first TV gig was on Barney and began shooting commercials for Academy Sports & Outdoors, ABC 13, Nextel, and so forth. I took several breaks on and off in my life to refocus on what was important. When work stopped coming in consistently, I began to go through a point of mild depression, constantly questioning myself asking, “Is this really worth it?” I had to re-discover my purpose and understand if acting and entertainment were really my passion as I thought they were. I always had trouble keeping a job because I was always thinking about my next gig, or what would I have to do next to make it to the next level. Acting was always on my mind and I have an “I only have one life to live so what am I wasting time for,” motto. Enough was enough. I prayed on everything and told God, that if it’s meant for me, to show me the way. Since then, I have made it as an extra and supporting role on shows such as Dallas in TNT, Salem on WGN, a recent TV pilot named Manny starring TsMadison, and recent commercial shoots for the Golden Nugget Casino and for the Home Depot, with my Budweiser commercial currently airing. Magazine publishing’s from 2Loud to Element Magazines, to shooting for stores clothing and retail stores such as Express, to Macy’s and Hollister, I have done almost everything with many more plans and projects coming up. One of my short term goals is to land a lead role in a major film, episodic series, or another national commercial gig. With a new team, my publicist, and agencies backing me up, I’m making the necessary steps and getting closer to my goals each and every day and don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. Los Angeles or maybe even Atlanta, are looking like my next destinations. Started off as a side hustle, I have also embarked on a journey to fitness. I decided to share my secrets and techniques with others on how I have maintained and kept my size and in good health by becoming a certified personal trainer. Me and a good friend of mine began doing boot camps here in Houston around the summer of 2017. We had

11

so much success that we decided that our brand, “Bodied w/ M.J.” fitness, will be resuming boot camps around May of 2018 once the weather has become consistently feasible to work outside in. Fitness and personal training has become my bread and butter and I just love helping people feel better about themselves, raising their self-esteems and helping them reach that goal or dream body that they desire without going under the knife. Although I have been athletic and have worked out my entire life, fitness has become a scape goat and a lifestyle for me. It has really made me feel that I should share that knowledge with someone who really needs it and has become a major investment of mine. I just want people to embrace fitness to the point that it becomes a lifestyle for them, so if you’re looking to tone up, lose some unnecessary body fat, or even just to lose weight or bulking up in general for an affordable grip, I’m your guy. It will require strenuous work, dedication and a lot of discipline, but the outcome will be epic and last you a lifetime if you’re serious. I mean, who doesn’t want to be healthy and fit though? Lol. I just want to be great and inspire others to be the very best at whatever it is that they want to be. Winning the “Male model of the year” award at the Rated Boujie Ceremony, I hope that I inspired someone out there to never give up on their dreams and to keep going. Somebody is always watching and somebody will eventually find you. Consistency and hard work are the keys to being great and making it big in this industry. If you don’t believe in yourself, how can you expect anyone to or to take you serious? There will be many trials and obstacles you may face on your journey. Hell, you’re going to be told a million no’s before you get that one YES, that matters the most. Rejection builds character so don’t allow rejection to discourage you. You have to be stronger than that and your excuses. Use that as motivation to go harder the next time and fix your mistake so that it doesn’t happen again. If you would like to get in contact with me, I can be found on Facebook as, “Jules Palton”, my fan page, or follow my Instagram, Iam_juelz.

THE NEW

SERIES PHOTO SHOOT LCM: Wow these photos are a little on the wild side! Tell me how was it working with Mizz Boujie on the set? Andre: Fun, if I had to describe it in one word. She’s always a consistent ball of high and positive energy. Never a dull moment in the company of Mizz Boujie LoL LCM: Mizz Boujie, how was it working with Andre? Mizz Boujie: It was really cool working with Andre. He maintained professionalism in a very heated situation. He brought the chocolate heat I needed to make this project a success. LOL My boy even hit a few push up on set to get those arms on Ds.

LCM: It looks to me like there was some chemistry going on between you and Mizz Boujie on the photos. We understand that you were brought on by Mizz Boujie to do this shoot and hadn’t worked together before this. How were you all able to deliver so much passion on film? Andre: We’ve known each other for a few years now, being in the fashion industry. In that time, we’ve developed a mutual respect for one another,

which may have led to some genuine chemistry that’s being displayed. And it’s not like Mizz Boujie isn’t an attractive young woman, I was just grateful for the opportunity to be considered. LCM: Mizz Boujie, tell us how you were able to deliver so much passion on film? Mizz Boujie: Andre and I have known each other in passing for a few years and I respect his work as a model in the industry. In order to pull this shoot off Andre and I hung out at a couple of social events to get more familiar with each other. Basically we did some homework on each other LOL. I mean lets be honest, it helps that the boy is built like a Greek God made of chocolate. LOL LCM: How did you feel baring it all for the world to see? Andre: A little hesitant, at first. Like anyone else, I have my personal insecurities I’m dealing with. But sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone and do something new. Something people don’t expect of you to expand your horizons and see if that can open new doors of opportunity or peak a new interest

Mizz Boujie: The human body is a beautiful thing that should be admired. I like any other person had my reservations about different areas I consider to be my problem areas on my body. I have a mommy body that has pushed out 3 beautiful babies. It’s riddled with stretch marks, scars and covered in tattoos, but yet someone can still find beauty in it. LCM: What are your views on Black Love Art? Andre: It’s a beautiful thing. Something that should be celebrated and expressed thru more avenues in our culture Mizz Boujie: It’s simple! Its beautiful. There are several different shades of black and several forms of love. When you put them together for art its nothing short of amazing LCM: What message do you want people to walk away with from these photos? Andre: Black is beautiful. Art is beautiful. Black art is Beautiful. Chocolate skin is in and always will be. Mizz Boujie: The art of seduction thru the lenses of a photographer, 2 models and beautiful chocolate skin. Chocolate melts in your mouth and in your hand….. LOL LCM: What can we expect from you next? Andre: That………………………, Mizz Boujie: He is so damn childish, well as far as next year……………… If God says the same, Boujie will see you there.

IT’S TIME TO JOIN THE BOUJIE EXPRESS AGAIN! THIS STOP........ GIRLZ TRIP TO OPEN BAR LOUNGE!

O

n December 10th we joined 3 Girlfriends, Tamanisha Casey: The Boss, Tay Mayberry: The Gossip and Tiffeny Young: The Wild One for a Girlz Trip to Open Bar Lounge!

Women got dressed in their all red to represent the BLOOD of a person who has sickle cell anemia. Sickle Cell Anemia is a blood disorder passed down by parents to their children. It mostly affects the African American and Hispanic community. As of 2015 4.4 million people are living with sickle cell anemia. If a good time is what you wanted ladies then a good time is what you got on Girlz Trip. The night was filled with half naked fire fighters, shopping and laughter by comedian Nissi Lamark.. DJ Thickness was in the mix. Sickle Cell meant so much to one young lady that she traveled from Atlanta Georgia to attend the event. There were several small business vendors on site for the ladies to enjoy some retail therapy and of course Houston born Emcee Mizz Boujie kept the show energetic and full of motivation.

LCM: So you know Mizz Boujie Never Shares the stage in her own productions! Tell us how did she comes to picking you for the co-host? Andre: I had to earn it. On the spot. Impromptu LCM: We hear you are new to the hosting industry! What makes you want to be a Host/ Emcee? What other Hosting experience do you have? Andre: Since a young man, I’ve always seen me with a mic in my hand. I love to laugh and make people laugh. I’m comfortable being on stage, in public or on camera. I get excited and energized at opportunities where I can make an impact on a room/audience by just being myself. I was the MC of a young adult event last summer. After the event, I had SO much overwhelming, positive feedback and I enjoyed every minute being on stage. LCM: Well Congratulations on being casted for the 2018 Rated Boujie Awards, 1st CoHost! We can’t wait to see the show! Tell us what is your take on the show and the meaning behind it? Finally, where can the people find you? Andre: The show is a brilliant idea and much needed for this industry. It’s extremely impactful that others be rewarded and recognized for their efforts and hard work in their chosen field. Especially a field where a lot of what is being done may not yield any financial gain at times. This platform is vital to continue and propel other’s dreams from being recognized.

You can google me Lol IG: @uwillnoticeme LCM: We all know Mizz Boujie doesn’t like to share the stage during her own productions! What made you decide on a cohost this year? Mizz Boujie: Last year was our first year producing the awards. We were not sure what to expect. With me being of course the producer of the show and the emcee, made it extremely crazy and overwhelming. So this year I decided on having a co-host, but not just any co-host, a male co-host who not only looked good, but could act, model and compliment someone else. I’m a big ole ball of fun (that is more on the adult side) and it takes a certain type of personality to mess with that. LCM: Mizz Boujie you are not new to the industry! How long have you been producing and hosting shows? Mizz Boujie: No, I am not! I have been in the entertainment industry for over a decade. I started back in 2007 when I signed to Houston’s first all-girl car club. I then became president over an all-girls record label, where I was also an artist. It wasn’t until my first production in 2014, where my host did a no call no show, that I learned I had a hidden talent of emceeing. At that time I was in a marriage that did want to share me with another talent. So I did nothing for several months with this new found talent, but you can’t deny destiny. During this time I was attending several other events in the industry and everywhere I would go, people would put a mic in my hand. The rest is well……….. I am now called Mizz Boujie, The Voice of Vision. LCM: Congratulations on year 2 of the Rated Boujie Awards! LeCharme wishes you many more years to come. What can the people expect from you this year? Where can the people find you? Mizz Boujie: The people can expect what they want, but BETTER is what they are going to get. If they want to know more attend the show. LOL here we go….. You can like me on facebook.com/thevoiceofvision ……… Follow me on Instagram.com/mizzboujie also, make sure you go and like Rated Boujie Awards on Facebook and follow them on Instagram. com/ratedboujie

TO MY DAD AND STAFF There was no greater step dad in the world than mines. My dad earned his wings this year on Feb 5, 2018. The new took my breath away to know that my rock was no longer here in the physical form and wouldn’t be able to continue this journey with me. I knew I wouldn’t have him forever, but wasn’t ready to let him go. I know my dad is watching from the skys above. Before he left here, he told me how proud he was of me, and told me never to give up. I dedicated this year’s awards to you dad, for all of your love and support, for all the pushing me to do better, to be BETTER! Set the bar is what you say, leave no prisoners! If you want it, take it – Tony Martin Rest in Heaven The mission would not be possible without my small but productive team behind me. No one can build an empire alone, especially a Boujie one! It takes each and every one of you to make this train move. Tay Mayberry, Tamanisha Casey’Mayberry, Erslette Baxter, Irene Ybarra, Eric Bernard, James Williams and Booker T, I appreciate your valued and continued business partnerships as well as friendships.
