DANIEL & GAETANO’S ENGAGEMENT CAPE SCHANK, MORNINGTON PENINSULA VIC
“We first met at Borders in 2009 (a book shop on Chapel St). I was looking for a book and Gaetano was in the magazine section. Apparently Gaetano looked liked he worked there, we had a bit of a chat and went out for a coffee, and I guess the rest is histor y.” “As for the proposal, I wanted to ask Gaetano through a letter and on our way to the airpor t for our first trip abroad together. I gave him the letter, he thought I was joking until I pulled out the ring and of course he was shocked but said “yes”. We officially became engaged at the end of 2015, holding an alfresco dinner with our close family and friends. We are yet to set an official date for our wedding but are so excited moving forward in our lives together. We recently bought our first house together and are in the process of planning a family.”
“As par t of the LGBTIQ community myself, being able to photograph same-sex couples makes it all that bit more special. I am based in Melbourne and am available Australia-wide and beyond. I first came across Cape Schank while bushwalking and knew instantly that I wanted to photograph here. A few months later an oppor tunity presented itself to photograph Daniel and Gaetano. They were wanting some images to celebrate their engagement and I felt that Cape Schank was the perfect location for them. Together we talked about the shoot. We wanted to creative something that was moody and evocative, that showed the connection between the two boys as well as incorporated the stunning scener y around Cape Schank. We planned on a late afternoon session, with the sun already dipping towards the horizon when we arrived. We photographed through to dusk.
