“Brisbane-based Denise Kolcze was our Celebrant. By pure chance, our dream photographers were available on our date. After the venue, they were the ver y next thing we booked, back in late 2010, as we knew 11:11:11 would be a really popular date. We used Todd and Alyda McGaw from Todd Hunter McGaw, who we adore, and by the end of the day we wanted to be best friends with them forever. They’re so easy to work with and their work is incredible. Their style definitely has the creative edge we wanted for our photos, and it is easy to see why they are so awarded.

Both our dresses were from Brides Desire in West End, Brisbane - which was local to us at the time. Buying two gowns was probably the only time I have ever asked for a discount in a store - but then I figured how often do they get two gowns out of one couple! Chris Lawless of Lawless Salon in Brisbane did our hair for the day gorgeous! As he was our regular hairdresser at the time, we had worked with him in the lead-up to work on colour etc. Elisa Largo, founder and head beauty therapist at Elspa in Brisbane was our makeup ar tist. She came highly recommended from two other friends who regularly see her for brows and other treatments. She happily travelled from Brisbane down to Ewingsdale for our day, to look after 2 Brides, 3 Bridesmaids and 2 Mothers of the Bride. Neither of us had ever had airbrushed makeup before, and it was flawless!”

“For our flowers, we ordered our bouquets, wrist corsages and buttonholes from Flowers On The Run (now Flowers At The Farm), and we ordered bulk stock from a local flower farm for the florals at the reception. Another friend did all the arrangements for the tables for us. It was ver y special that my Nan’s many hydrangea plants had bloomed, as she passed away only three weeks before the wedding.

My Mum took many clippings from the hydrangeas which were added to the table decorations and also on the wedding cake, which was lovingly made by a friend.”
