KATE & LEONIE EWINGSDALE, NORTHERN NSW 11.11.11 Kate Mackie tells how she first met Leonie Clark and shares their love stor y. “Leonie and I met through a mutual friend - someone I used to work with. We had met socially several years before we properly met again in late 2007. And after a dinner par ty invitation in early 2008, we star ted dating and officially became a couple on Valentine’s Day 2008. (Corny but true!)” THE PROPOSAL “While Leonie and I never really discussed a wedding or marriage (probably because in Australia we couldn’t legally be married at the time!), somehow we just knew we were committed to one another, and in early 2010 we casually star ted looking at engagement rings one day while in the city. I was extremely busy at work at the time, so Leonie booked me in for a date night for when my work life settled down a bit. (She booked months in advance!) The day of our date night, we each set off to work like we always did, and I was to wait for fur ther instructions - which suited me as I love surprises. The first surprise was at 4pm - the normal courier who delivered to the store I work in, arrived with a large cardboard box - which turned out to be a dozen long stemmed red roses from Roses Only - Wow!”
