GAN RUGS

www.gan-rugs.com www.gandiablasco.com Hall 11.1 Stand E031-E033 Fruit of the collaboration with big names of design – Patricia Urquiola, Sandra Figuerola, Nendo/Oki, Odosdesign, Héctor Serrano, Charlotte Lancelot… -, the GAN rugs are manufactured in India by expert craft workers that use the hand tufting, hand knotting or woven technique. The fusion of the best designers, natural materials and the most expert hands in the world gives as a result products that have their own soul, a unique character that arouse emotions and establish an instant emotional bond with their users. Turning these millenary techniques into contemporary interior concepts, the brand has created the GAN SPACES, stylish and sensitive ambiences made up by a rug as a starting point and a series of accessories (poufs, cushions, multipurpose modules, containers, etc.) that allow a lot of personalization. From now on, everybody can design his own space.

NANIMARQUINA

www.nanimarquina.com Hall 3.2 – Stand D042 The story of Kerman rugs dates back to the 15th-century Persia, and precisely to that part of central Iran, lying between mountains and the Lut desert, where artisans mastered the art of weaving rugs of extraordinary sizes and designs. After a successful revival in the 19th century, with Kerman rugs coming back to its ancient splendor, in recent time they have been considered oldfashioned. But Martí Guixé, the Spanish designer famous for his unconventional and conceptual approach to food and commercial design, has given them a second chance.

The hand-knotted GHOST carpet made of 100% New Zealand wool features the mythical pictorial motifs of birds, flowers, horses and deer that appear and disappear magically within the black and white pattern of the carpet. Mr. Guixé said that he worked slowly over three months, translating his mood changes into graphic irregularities that give the pattern a touch of mysticism and mystery. GHOST in black and white, a mysterious and brilliant blend of past and present that remains faithful to the strange simplicity and seriousness of the artist’s work. Indeed, a fresh take on ancient rug craftsmanship.
