Interview with Mr. Juan Carlos Muñoz – President of ANIEME What is the aim of MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA and what are the values represented by the brand? MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA ‐the brand created by ANIEME (Spanish Association of Furniture Exporters)‐ has consolidated itself as a highly international brand, a fact which is confirmed by the increasingly strong position of Spanish furniture in foreign markets and the ever greater number of countries to which Spain exports its products.

The Spanish furnishing industry represents a very heterogeneous reality that combines the most refined handicraft tradition with cutting‐edge manufacturing technology. Investments in research and development have led to an important improvement of the production processes, maximizing the creativity and innovation of our companies. As a result of this, Spanish furniture stands out not only for its high quality standards, but also for the stylish designs and the variety of an offer that is always catching up with new trends. Nevertheless, it is thanks to its impressive ability to adapt to the demand of the moment and to different cultural contexts, that MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA has made a strong name of itself as a world’s leading furnishing and contract supplier. • What are the main characteristics that signify Spanish design? MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA signifies passionate, elegant and cutting‐edge collections that can be customized to meet every global‐local taste. As a matter of fact, Spanish companies have carried out relevant residential and hospitality projects all over the world. So while sitting on a bench in an airport lounge in Dubai or lying on a sunlounger in a Caribbean isle or staying in a hotel in Berlin you can sense the functionality, versatility and liveliness of Spanish products. Spanish furniture manufacturers are working hard in design and innovation. The use of high quality materials and state‐of‐the‐art technology are the key for the high‐fashion pieces that Spanish designers are creating. Environmentally friendly, ecological and recyclable products are also present in a trend that is getting more adepts in the last years. A suggestive combination of different styles, such as art‐deco with the most pure classical style is also a cutting‐edge trend in the sector. Furthermore, Spanish furniture production combines the latest technologies and innovations with the traditional craftwork and the hand‐made details, mixing the best from modernity and tradition.
